Heaven in the Dales

This has got to be one of the most beautiful sites in the whole Caravan Club network! I highly recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity to visit. The facilities are spotlessly clean (thanks to the very hard working wardens), but the decor and fittings are now looking tired and worn - it is time to invest some money is this wonderful site and upgrade the facilities to match the surroundings.

I can't work out how this site selects its wardens. I have been coming here each year for the past 15 years, and every year the wardens are happy, welcoming and friendly. The current wardens are great. Perhaps other site could use the same selection criteria as Grassington...?

I was a bit surprised to hear children on scooters being asked to play in the direction of the traffic... Surely its the idiots racing around in the cars who should be taking the responsibility pills, and the kids playing freely (not the other way around)? Time for a reality check on the rule book I think!

An Over Night Stay!

We were returning home from a long journey & stayed here with our caravan for one night to break up the trip. It was the end of April & the weather was wet & windy but this didnt distract us from the beauty of the site. The shower & toilets were spotless. Its very clean and peaceful & we were impressed with the scenic walks.   There is a great pub on the site called The Gamekeeper, dog friendly, & delicious, well priced food!

A Great Holiday at Wharfedale

Just returned home from a 9 night stay at Wharfedale and what a great time we had , The weather was fantastic and the site very clean and peaceful even though nearly all the pitches were occupied , Grassington is a 30 to 40 min walk from the site depending on your ability’s and is a lovely town to visit , It has a good selection of pubs serving food and a spar shop that seems to have nearly everything that you want , The only thing that we did not like about it was the chip chop I thought it was overpriced and of poor quality but other than that a great place to visit ,Bolton Abbey is not far away and Skipton is well worth a visit , We spent most of the week walking all over the area with our dog and was well impressed with the walks and the scenery from dale walks to riverside walks it seems to have it all, We enjoyed it so much that we intend to stay again later this year to explore the area further , There is a great pub next to the site called The Gamekeeper , We had a fantastic meal there on our last night and not overpriced either .

Sunshine in Wharfedale

We arrived on Easter Monday in glorious sunshine and it didn't stop until we hitched up in pouring rain the following Sunday (sod's law) When the weather is with you the Yorkshire Dales are unbeatable. This site is so well run with super friendly wardens who work so hard. It makes our annual pilgrimage back to God's County so worthwhile. Peacefull mid-week stay

Our second visit to the site and it's an efficiently run site in a peacefull location. It's within 40 mins walk of Grassington which has several tearoom, shops` pubs and a fish and chip shop. The area is really good for walking and you can get to several footpaths from the site. It's very dog friendly and the new play area keep the smaller children amused. There are even owls in the woods surrounding the site. The wifi was working well on our second visit.

Peaceful mid-week day stay

This is our second visit to the site, it's an efficiently run site and in a peacefull position. We found some good footpaths in the area. Grassington is a very nice village with plenty of pubs, tearooms and a chip shop. Good touring area. The wifi was working well on our second visit. There are also owls in the woods surrounding the site too.

A Gem Of A Site

Spent three nights here just after the Easter Weekend - what a treat.  Fantastic location that literally takes your breath away.  Wardens so very friendly and helpful.  Loved the walk into Grassington (about 40 mins) and also the walk at the back of the site onto the moors.  The Gamekeepers Inn was great for a drink and very dog friendly (although the fish and chips were not the best at all).  All in all a very special site that although is not local to us is definitely on our list of sites to return to.

A gem

Am tempted to write horrid things so nobody finds this little gem of a site but that's not cricket , love this site more and more so keep going back , from the staff , cleanleness , location all perfect . It really shows this site is cared about and the staff invest a lot of time keeping it right . My only suggestion would be ,as it is in prime walking countryside a dog wash ? , in our local park they have just installed a paying  warm water dog wash . It's a meter and 50p gets you 5 mins of warm water , it would make the winter months of dog walks more attractive as you clean them off easier ,situated up at the shower block would be a winner xx .

We'll be back

Another visit for us to Wharfedale, a site that we have previously enjoyed staying at due in part to the nearby leisure club and Gamekeepers Inn for food. The site was as good as ever. Dog walking around the site is good; a walk through the nearby quarry is interesting and it is easy to walk to Grassington. The site was busy when we stayed so getting a table at the Gamekeepers, accompanied by our dog, was tricky. Also, the leisure club wasn't fully up and running with its outside eating facilities, which was a little disappointing. However, we had a lovely stay and expect to visit again.
