Only second time caravaning so forgot stuff like towels!!! The wardens let us have some - very much appreciated. Great clean site, not as close to a village as I would have liked but good pub very close and leisure facilities I didn't know about. Great cycle rides, loved the fountain at Linton and Linton falls
Second visit to this charming site just North of Skipton.
Although there were quite a few young families it was generally not a noisy site, but it could well be worth while closing the play area at 8pm to help parents whose children go to bed that bit earlier than others.
Quite surprised to see the large number of vacant pitches in August, and we booked late so that must be a bit worrying for the Club if all pitches are not taken up at the height of the season.
The Wardens were friendly enough, but the male seemed to have an attitude of "I'm fed up with all this and wish I was somewhere else", which came across quite strongly when you spoke to him.
Cheer up man - it looks a good life to me!
Dogs loved the walks, which are just a few minutes away from the site.
Nice pub at the Long Ashes site next door - 10 minutes walk, and they take dogs.
This was our first ever attempt at towing a caravan and staying at a site. The location was excellent and easy to get to, with only one short stretch of narrow road about one mile before the site. The staff were extremely helpful and offered advice which was much appreciated. The site is very spacious and the pitches are excellent with plenty room for manoeuvring (thank goodness!!). The walks for our dogs were excellent. The facilities were spotless and plentiful. The shop stocked useful items e.g. tv extension cable that we did not have as well as other emergency items. The pub in the nearby static home site was dog friendly and provided good quality food. We did not use the leisure facilities which were open to non-residents. Plenty of local walks in a beautiful part of Yorkshire. We had an enjoyable first trip despite the heavy rain over the two days! Thanks Wharfedale & Caravan Club.
Went for a couple of days R & R. Found a lovely open pitch and soaked up the sun and the ambience. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Some lovely walks direct from the site. Heard good reviews about the pub but didn't get to go this time. Facilities clean, tidy and no queues. Shop had all the necessaries including midge repellant. Will be going to the site again. You can't beat proper Yorkshire folk in God's own County. We'll be back!
First time at this site but it won't be the last. The wardens work hard to keep the site spick and span and the toilet block , whilst needing a bit of an update , was always clean and there was never a queue. Loved the location , the surrounding area offers plenty of choice of things to see and do and having a pub virtually 5 mins away was a bonus. It is a lovely peaceful site and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Second visit and just as pleasant.no road noise just peace and quiet so a good nights sleep assured. Gamekeepers Inn fine for a pint but food not great. Fish and chips in Grassington are great and Rozi's Indian not bad either. Facilities clean but very tired hardly any enamel left on washbasins. Lazy dog owners allowing their pets to foul around vans and surrounding pitches at bedtime and early morning because they can't be bothered to walk them. Wifi poor yet again and driving way faster than 5mph even though wardens pointed this out at check in. Wardens strimming behind vans and emptying bins at 8.45am not their best idea. Enjoyed our visit and would go back again
This is a terrific little site situated right in the middle of the North Yorkshire Dales so perfect for walkers and cyclists. It is only just over a mile from Grassington and 10 miles form Skipton so handy for all types of shopping from quaint to supermarket. There is a good little kids play area and dog walkers will be delighted. There is a great little walk just off site but a little further takes you onto the hills so Fido can run to his heart's content. The site is mostly level but some pitches may need small levelling blocks. Most pitches are hardstanding but there are a few grass ones available. The toilets look a bit tired but are kept up to the expected clean standard by the very friendly wardens. If you don't feel like cooking, the Gamekeeper Inn is only 5 minutes walk away and the Old Hall Inn is just a mile down the road. Both do excellent meals and carry-out fish & chips. What more could you want? Definitely a site to come back to again and again.
We stayed at this lovely site for 5 peaceful days recently and it was a Delight.
We picked a grass pitch which was a decent size but not very level we would buy some levelling blocks for next time.
We walked into Grassington one sunny day you can also get the bus at the entrance I got the bus on the way back.
In the static site that's next door is a brilliant pub/restaurant we went most nights we had Tapas one night this was Beautiful and we were stuffed to bursting after three each.
We also went back for Steak night this was equally as good and reasonable for the quality, they serve good Ales as well.
The site was very busy whilst we were there but I never struggled to get a shower at busy times.
We will definitely be back as soon as we can.
Have recently had 3 days at this site on our way to northumberland, and love it.
Great dog walks adjacent to site, and a nice 10min walk to the Huntsman Inn, which serves lovely food and is dog friendly.
A bit of a trek into Grassington but worth it especially the walk along the river to Burnhsall which has a wonderful hotel/pub right by the river with great food.
Lovely clean site but could do with another samll toilet and shower block. Had to queue for showers.
But will return
this is the second time we have visited the site the last time was in November when the weather was not great and we wanted to see it in a English summer. As with our first visit we had a warm and friendly greeting from the wardens who kept the site clean. The walking around here is exceptional and for those who want a gentle stroll into Grassington it is very easy and takes 20-30 minutes. The only gripe we had this time was some dog owners (we are also) did let there dogs bark quite a bit but that is not the sites fault just some dog owners not being responsible......
We would recommend that everyone should visit at least once to see what a great place Grassington and the Dales are even when the weather is typically English....
