Great site

We had not been here for a couple of years, we had forgoton how beautiful the site and surrounding villages are, with some fantastic walks straight from the site, no real need to use the car or van, we had 17 nights here and loved every minute, only down side was the midges. The lovely wardens work very hard to keep everything clean and tidy for us members. A short walk on to the Long Ashes site next door and you have the Gamekkeepers inn serving very good food, there is also gym, swimming pool, hairdressers, health spa. All in all a great site.

One of the best sites ever!

What a fantastic site.  We visited it earlier in the summer and were very much not disappointed.  From arriving at reception there was a very warm welcome from the staff who went out of their way to assist.  The site itself was lovely, very well kept and well set out which gave very much a feeling of lots of space around the caravans.  The shower and toilet facilities were first class and kept extremely clean and fresh.  Local to Grassington which is about 30 minute walk away.  Only problem we encountered was we took the wrong road in via Bolton Abbey and it was a total nightmare and completely unsuitable for caravans.  Make sure you stay clear of this or your driving skills with a caravan in tow will be very much put to the test!! Definitely on the top of our list for a return visit next year.

Great stay yet again

As with all Caravan Club sites this is as near perfect as you can get. Great staff, spotless facilities and nice and quiet. The only downside is the dog walk needs the path attending to as it is pretty dangerous especially when wet. For those visitors who don't know there is a footpath which goes all around the site, and the pub at the Long Ashes site is great and within walking distance

Recent Excellent Visit

Had a superb 1st visit to this site, everyone was so friendly and staff were very curtious and friendly, The visit was for the war weekend at grassington which was excellent and well organised. If i was to make one comment it is not with the site but with 'certain' people who do not clean up after there pets on the dog walk giving a bad name to responsible dog owners, ( hope they read this review) We will return

Peaceful Location

Our second visit to this site did not disappoint.  The site is well maintained, peaceful & quiet.  The facilities are warm & clean.  The wardens are cheerful, friendly and helpful.  The walking and scenery is excellent.  The locals are friendly and welcoming.  The proximity of Grassington means that you are not too far from civilisation.  A good choice of pubs with food in reasonable walking distance, many of which are dog friendly.  We will be back soon.

Great holiday

Had great week at Wharfedale site, really good for dogs and lots of places and foot paths to walk. Obviously very popular as full, was on grass pitch which was great as very quiet private spot. Site clean and tidy, close to other facilities i.e. villages and pubs. Would go again.

A Great Base To Explore

Stayed two days and a very nice stay. Typical CC standard with no issues at all. We had a hard standing pitch which looked flat but we had to use a leveller on one side and blocks on the front legs to get the van level. No issue though just the first time I've had to use accessories on a CC site to get the van level.  Only one toilet block but no problem with queuing etc.  TV reception was a big patchy using the supplied TV aerial connection.  Lots of nice villages to see with Grassington on the door step. Very nice fish and chips from a shop tucked away up a side street. Kettlewell is a nice little village. Had a pub lunch at the Racehorses Hotel which was excellent. This CC site is a great base for exploring on foot or cycle.

Favourite

This truly is my favourite Caravan Club Site in this area, it has everything you could want  on the doorstep. It is walking distance to the lovely quaint village of Grasssington with a selection of pubs and tea rooms including our favourite the Retreat which sells wonderful gluten free and veggie options. On site there is the Gamekeeper pub which is a five minute walk and is near the Long Ashes Park, it is dog friendly in the bar area and serves lovely meals in the Conservatory. There is plenty of walks from the site and a good dog walk which practically circles the Caravan Park.

Good Location

We stayed at the site last week and were very pleased with the facilities , Apart from the locks on the shower doors(which are very stiff and anyone with limited mobility would find them very hard to lock or unlock),I was tempted to take a can of wd40 up there but was warned by my wife that this was probably against site rules. The 5 mph rule was dismissed by a fair number of the other visitors . The site is situated in a beautiful part of the country but within easy reach of the Towns and villages of North Yorkshire . Grassington is certainly worth a look with its lovely pubs , cafes and gift shops .There is actually a pub(The Gamekeeper) within 300 yards of the site and the real ales and lagers are well kept .There are also many walks from the site.We would not hesitate to visit the site again and found the wardens very knowledgeable and very approachable I would award the site 4.5 out of 5 stars (a can of w d 40 would promote it to 5 stars)Thank you for another enjoyable caravanning adventure
