We had four nights at this site, during a period of cool, mixed weather in March. It was excellent. The staff were all very helpful and the facilities sparking clean. The dog walks from site were good but because the upper path around the site was quite muddy in wet weather we often walked along the road through the caravan park. There were plenty of dog waste bins on site. It's a beautiful, quiet site, ideally placed for visiting the local area.
Christmas Visit
This was our second visit, love this site and it’s friendly staff. My big complaint, it rained constantly for the three days whilst there! It managed to stop to allow us to get to the Gamekeeper Inn and The Old Hall for dinner each night as they are both very convenient to the site and great food.
I’m treating my friend to a visit here in March and hopefully the weather will be better so we can walk. The site is great for a nice walk into Grassington and local walks. It’s not too far away for us for a quick get-away. Lovely site.
Superb location, friendly staff, spotless facilities
Absolutely great location for walking and other outdoor activities. Very welcoming staff (typical of almost all club sites), swift check in and the new two peg system is fine. Pegs were situated in the centre of the pitch and we could park tail in or out as per club rules. Only pointing this out as someone needs to tell this to the Hawes site staff.
The adjacent Ashes holiday complex offers additional facilities including a lovely pub/restaurant. Old Hall Inn at Threshfield is only a short walk away and was the best all round for food, drink and value. Grassington is a 30-45 minute walk (take a torch if dark)
An update is needed to the site information. The Grassington Dickensian market did not take place this year, replaced by a modest Christmas market on the Saturdays only. It did not bother us as we come for the walking but I know a few other people were disappointed. It was a community decision to not hold the Dickensian event because it had become a victim of its massive popularity and traffic issues.

Door banging & usual Unit levelling up issues
Autumnal return visit during poor weather.
Pleasant enough site & area as always but sadly heavy rain also caused some on site flooded pitches and muddy dog walks. Short days & rain meant most were tucked up inside their Units by 4pm.
Sadly an increasing issue, on many quieter sites now, was frequent noisy habitation & cab door slamming & banging at all hours, especially so on the Motorhomes with the sideways sliding doors.
Perhaps time that CAMC guidance was issued that door slamming is not required to click the door closed ?
As previously, whilst the site pitches & layout have been re-furnished recently, at no doubt great expense, there are very few with sideways level aspects so one wheel ramping is required to most - at usual much hassle so be aware. Clearly the Architect / designer / CAMC didn’t consider this basic issue a very important factor !
A top site for walking
The site is kepot in top class condition by the staff. Nice grounds. Facilities blocks kept tip-top. Staff very helpful. The best bit of this site is the number of short to long walks accessable from it. This is one of my favourite sites. Nice pubs in Grassington, Kilnsey and Threshfield (The Old Hall and The Gamekeeper). Plenty to do in Skipton (catch a bus from Grassington NP car Park). You can walk or take The 'Adventurer' bus into Skipton from Long Ashes (near to reception). .
Lovely place spoilt by campers
I would like to start by saying that the site is lovely, the wardens very pleasant and the facilities spotless. However the campers of today don’t seem to like caravan club rules. On arrival we were met by a lovely warden who explained everything very clearly, including where the Motorhome service point was. Despite notices on the various water points asking motorhomes not to fill up there but to use the service point we saw numerous campers with their hosepipes connected, merrily filling up their tanks. 5mph is the limit on sites, very few campers adhered to that, especially the 1 o’clockers who seemed to think that it was a race to find your pitch. Dogs in the toilet block, yes you read that correctly and no they were not guide dogs. When did that become acceptable?
These are gripes that to be honest could have come from any caravan club sites lately.
Saying all that we had a lovely time, a beautiful walk into Grassington and a fantastic meal at the gamekeers inn.

2 night stay over
We stayed here for 2 nights a Sunday and Monday for our wedding anniversary, as usual for a club site it was effortless to get in, get sorted and pitched - had a Sunday carvery booked at the Gamekeepers inn on the long ashes park next door x highly recommend.
On the Monday we walked into Grassington around 25/30 mins with good tracks at end of the site, a really nice place with great views/food and shops.
All the club staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The facilities were spotless as were all the pitches, will return.
Thank you all
Beautiful site
Beautiful site with very friendly staff.
Extremely clean facilities and plenty to go round even at busy times.
Last bit of the approach road was a bit like whacky races, so take it steady - especially in a larger outfit.
This was our first time on a club site and unfortunately there were too many dogs for our own dog's liking and think we are better suited to CL sites. This is absolutely NO reflection on the quality of the site whatsoever - just we have 'special' dogs!!
Lots of walks locally, but no good with a reactive dog, so you'll have to drive further afield to find quieter walks.
A very peaceful site for it's size. Loved hearing hooting owls whilst going to sleep.
Very handy spar shop a couple of minute's drive away that has a very good selection for its size.
We didn't try any of the local eating places but there were plenty to choose from.
If we didn't have a reactive dog, we would be back for sure.
Brilliant
Really peaceful location. All facilities kept spotless and were never busy. Well laid out with very clear instructions on first arrival. Wardens really friendly. No niggles at all.
Loads to do in the area, we stopped mid August, so the whole dale was busy. Would like to return at a quieter time. Would recommend.

Helpful and understanding Wardens !
Last week we booked 3 nights at Grassington ( we've been many times before ) The site is always spotless and the wardens always very good. I feel I must just give extra praise to the wardens, especially the one who dealt with us on this occasion. During our first day and during the night I was taken ill, and we had to leave the next morning on the advice of our Doctor by phone.( this had also occurred earlier in the week, except for the Doctor part, when away, but after going home and being OK for 36 hrs. and being desperate to try out our new motorhome, we tried to get off again) The warden my wife dealt with was so helpful and understanding of how something can change in a short time, including when you have looked forwards to getting away on a break. It's great when wardens show they are humans too, and understand the need for an understanding and caring attitude towards members, well done and thank you !!!
