Just spent 1 week on this lovely site. Wharfedale is immaculately kept by wardens Julie & Ken Hilton who were very pleasant and helpful. The site is perfectly positioned in a scenic area of the Yorkshire Dales, within easy reach of many tourist attractions.
We certainly would recommend the site and hope we can return to explore more in this beautiful area. Thank you for a great stay!
Annual First Trip of the Year
Have been coming to this site for many years and it never fails to tick all the boxes.
There is not much more to say than that.
Wardens friendly and helpful as seems to be the norm now which is great.
Game Keepers Inn close by serving excellent food and is dog friendly in bar area.
Already booked for next year on new booking system.
Perfect base for visiting Grassington, Skipton, Wharfedale and Bolton Abbey.
This is a popular site with good reason. The site is immaculate and a great credit to the friendly wardens. Shower block is clean and warm (it was cold and frosty during our visit) with loads of cubicles. There is a motorhome service point by the shower block to fill up with fresh water and drop grey waste so do this before selecting a pitch if you’re in a motorhome. Well gravelled pitches are generously sized and spaced so you don’t feel on top of one another but lots have a slope so you’ll need levelling ramps if you’re in a motorhome. Satellite TV reception is good.
The site is in a fabulous location. Grassington is the next village and within walking distance if you’re reasonably fit. This is a really pretty Dales village with loads of tea shops and pubs. It also has a post office and small supermarket. Well worth a day out. Skipton is a lovely Dales market town and if you have transport, Bolton Abbey, Wharfedale and The Strid are fantastic. There is a great pub within walking distance, The Gamekeepers Inn, which is located on the neighbouring static caravan park which also has a café and gym. Closest shop is the petrol station in Threshfield village which is also a well stocked Spar convenience store. This even has a small deli counter for fresh meats and cheeses!
The site web page gives sound advice on getting there. If approaching from the South / East, ignore your Sat Nav and do not take the B6160 that goes up past Bolton Abbey as this is very narrow and undulating. Instead, carry on along the Skipton by-pass and take the B6265 to Rylstone and Threshfield. It’s a much safer approach.
All in all this is another great Club site. We’ll definitely be back.
Excellent Site to be near nature
You can not better this site for walks in the Yorkshire Dales. I have one point of concern, my wife and her friend were unable to see into the mirrors whilst using the hairdryers. The mirror apparently was set too high, ideal for the 6 foot tall ladies not the 5 footers!!!!

Fantastic site
What a great Site, very clean and tidy, pitches are huge with plenty of space.Great friendly staff. Shower block/toilets absolutely spotless and so warm. I cannot fault this site at all. Lovely and peaceful a great dog walking area too !
I will be booking again.
Great clean site and friendly staff.
Wharfedale is a lovely easy to find site not far from the main road. Very clean site with friendly staff on site as well. Toilets and shower block spotless! Despite the freezing cold (blizzard and pipework froze despite tank heaters on!) we had a good time.
Brilliant site
A well laid out site, lovely facilities, really warm in winter. The usual friendly helpful wardens. The pub in the adjacent holiday park was great, dog-friendly and welcoming. Easy walk into Grassington (unless you take two dogs the pretty route across the fields via Linton Falls and loads of ladder stiles :-) ). Again, Grassington has dog-friendly pubs and cafés, we particularly like ECOcoffee.
As we are in a motorhome, the bus services to Grassington, connecting to Skipton were useful.
Plenty of walks from the site.
All in all, we plan to return.

Great Location
Spent 5 nights at the beginning of December to take in the Dickensian Festival at Grassington. Having caravanned during the winter quite a few times, we knew what to expect. Snow shovel and winter woolies at the ready. Snow was just a dusting, but it was very icy. Water bottle insulated, pipe connection lagged and 10 litre top up bottle in the caravan overnight, just in case. The site improvements were clearly evident. One issue though. When we arrived there were only 17 units on site and the quality of the TV channels was good using the booster on the electric point. Over the weekend though when the site was near full we could only get BBC 1 and 2. The rest weren't possible to watch. Good job we had boxed sets !
Our trip to the frozen north.
In July we decided to visit the Grassington Dickensian festival, and as we expected poor weather we booked Wharfedale club site so that we had help if needed.
Prophetic to say the least,it dropped to minus 5 one night.
Along with several others, morning trips to the laundry room to defrost the water pump became a pleasant chore. Having already had to find a new pump with the help of the warden in order to get it to work in the first place.( Whale product 0/10 !) The warden even found time in his hectic schedule to call and see if we were all right. What a star.
Thanks to the wardens efforts the snow and ice were nearly forgotten. With a full site their efforts did not go unnoticed. Gallant to say the least. The site was immaculate, even in the snow and skating rink conditions. Ultimately the show was fabulous and we are already organising our return next year.Perhaps with some sort of cladding for the pump.
Thank you again to the superb wardens. What would the club be like without them.
Grateful thanks from Les and Vera.
In Gods own this must be his home
Brilliant spot; brilliant facilities; wonderful location - never get fed up of coming back again and again
