A beautiful site, kept in excellent condition in an ideal place for touring the southern dales. We will be back. The only fault is one found on several recently refurbished sites - there are not enough men's toilets in the morning producing queues, while there are too many privacy cubicles which are not fully used.

Great site - wonderful holiday!

First time at Wharfedale for a long weekend break. Can really recommend this site - one of the best we have stayed at! Facilities scrupulously clean. Wardens friendly and efficient. Site easy to locate, well placed for pub, shop and town, and extremely peaceful with no traffic noise at all. Super dog walk for the four-legged family members, and of course you are in the Yorkshire Dales so lovely walks abound! While we were there wardens held a fabulous coffee morning and dog show for charity - they really went the extra mile to give everyone a great time. We will definitely be back!

Recent visit

We have just returned from a wonderful 7 night stay at Wharfedale. The wardens are always welcoming, friendly and helpful and are perfect models of how wardens should behave. The site is immaculate at all times and is in a very tranquil location. There is a bus service to Grassington from where a connection can be taken into Skipton. About 1 mile away is a fuel station and Spar shop containing most items needed for everyday use. Many thanks Wharfedale we hope to see you in the not too distant future.

5 Star Caravan Site

Wharfedale Caravan Site is a top quality caravan site, surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire Dales Countryside and ideally located for Skipton, Ilkley & Otley - Best time to book is August as all local festivals / events are scheduled Wardens are friendly and accommodating, hence I had a problem with a window blind and one warden was kind enough to assist, facilities are clean and tidy with all services close by Access to and from the site is easy There's a pub within walking distance through the adjacent static caravan site, Game Keepers Inn serving good food. Its advisable to book in as it can get busy Alternatives Pubs - We walked into Grassington the local village (1.5 mile walk each way). Lovely village will worth spending a few hours shopping (ie lovely trinket shops), but the best pub food is the Black Horse Alternative - Short drive to Linton is the Fountaine Inn (Beautiful meals at reasonable prices) TV onsite is good, but channels are mini-able, hence next time I will take my satellite Dish Keith & Cindy Booth

Nice stay at Wharfedale

We have just returned from an enjoyable 7 night stay at Wharfedale. It is a lovely site with excellent toilet, shower, and dish-washing facilities. The pitches are spacious with room for caravan, car, and awning, but many are on a slight slope so ramps may be necessary. The staff seem to be polite and keep the site clean and tidy. During the week it was quiet with quite a few vacant pitches, but on Friday and Saturday the site fills up to capacity. There are very many dogs on site with some walking four dogs; generally this is not a problem but some are very noisy barking every time at the sight of other dogs, and some owners do let their dogs foul the grassed areas between pitches. The Gamekeeper Inn a few minutes walk in the adjacent static park serves very nice food. The walk from the site to lovely Grassington takes about 35 - 45 minutes along a busy road with a wide pavement. The location is ideal for walking and exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The children on site seemed to enjoy the play area and riding their bikes around the site. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Charming Site

A few days at this site, on arrival a friendly check in, lovely setting, very peaceful. Toilets and showers were immaculate, and is was a bonus to be able to adjust the temperature settings and have a lovely cold shower. Plenty to see and do around the area, especially Grassington. As a previous reviewer has noted.. I do wish dog owners would keep their pets on leads....not everyone is a dog lover!

Good site, shame about the staff

First time to this site which is a beautiful location. We arrived at 19.00 and was met by a warden who obviously wasn't happy at the time of our arrival even though the sign said that staff were available until 20.00. Rapidly gave us details and asked us to pay the following morning. He didn't give us a fob to raise the barrier and when I went back to ask for one after pitching up (still before 20.00) he said that I didn't say that I was going out that evening. We felt that some of the wardens didn't want to be there. It's a shame as we normally receive a friendly welcome on all the sites.

Lovely location

First time visit to this site and found it to be very good, friendly wardens, and the modern facilities kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. Good base to visit surrounding areas. One negative is some people need to adhere to the speed limit on site. Would definitely re-visit.

Another return visit .

We use this site several times per year . Just returned from another 5 night stay .

Wardens went above and beyond, many thanks you have endless patience .

On arrival - about 12 05 . We were 5th in the queue to book in . At 12 20 we had not moved and about 10 more units were behind us .

The reason became apparent when the late leavers started coming off site - 5 caravans , 3 motor homes . ( granted the motor homes may have been leaving for the day , the caravans not ) .

At 1 pm we finally got on a pitch , quick hook up to electric then lunch before starting putting up the awning . That’s when we had a proper look at the pitch .

Previous users dog had left us several little presents . Pitch 18 - you left sun 15th .

The warden did clean up what we could not . Many thanks to the warden . Shame on the dog owners .

Fantastic dog walk on site , plenty of bins just in case you did not know it .

Will not put us off using site again , as thankfully not all dog owners are as lazy .

One of the best sites we have visited

We have just had five nights at Wharfedale and reckon it's one of the best sites we've visited. Lovely spacious pitches, friendly and helpful wardens and well maintained facilities. Plenty of walks from the site, a small supermarket nearby and Grassington only a short walk away. Fabulous!
