Lovely views

Beautiful sunsets and lovely to have a sea view. Being right on the coast path is a bonus if you enjoy walking (quite steep in parts, the nearby coves are not easily accessible) We walked to Boscastle and had the best fish and chips ever from The Old Manor House café/restaurant. Stayed at this site for two nights then moved onto Treamble Valley. Please bear in mind that if you arrive at Trewethett before 12.00 you will be told to not, under any circumstances, walk around the site and you will not be able to book in until after 12.00 (although the strict rules were bent as we booked in at 11.45) Also when asked to "bring something with you" this refers to bringing something to mark you chosen pitch with. In the confusion we chose a pitch, did not mark it, were given the pitch and then because someone else had left their wife standing on the pitch whilst we went to reception were told and harshly spoken to by the warden demanding the pitch card to be returned. The warden was very abrupt and just needed to explain in an apologetic manner about the procedure. I was left quite upset. Being fairly new to caravanning a little bit of understanding would not of gone a miss. Working for the Caravan Club as a warden for 6 years and "I'm only following the site rules" and "its not my fault that your husband does not communicate with you!!" does not mean that your customer service skills can lapse.

Bliss for the coastal walker

Very windy when were there but still slept well.  All that fresh air and exercise!  The temporary loos and shower block was closest to us but is a bit cramped so tempted to use the main block unless it gets too busy there.  On site wi-fi so slow we didn't bother.  EE phone signal also weak.  TV reception fine.  We were on grass pitch but it drained well.  We met others who keep returning here.  We're inclined to keep exploring new sites but there's a good chance we'll be back.  Too good not to see again.  The coast path here is quite challenging in both directions.  Bring sound quality footwear with good grip.

Best site ever.

We have just returned from 10 days at the Tintagel site and is this the best site overall we have stayed at? Yes it is. I would qualify this by saying that we have never been disappointed by a CC site but this edges it all round. The location is stunning and the site is very well managed, especially in terms of not allowing early arrivals on before the stated times, other sites take note. Finally a mention for the wardens, faultless, we will be back. Bob C.

Peaceful site

This site has lovely views and is quiet in low season, We had a pitch to the left of the site near the ravine down the cliff, beware of steep walk down the cliff walk, a man slipped and broke his leg and had to be rescued by helicopter whilst we were there, also the wi-fi signal is not available down there, and it is a long walk to the toilet block uphill, I used my car to get up to them. also be aware when you arrive you have to walk around the site to find a pitch before entering the site.

Beautiful Location

A great place to stay.Only one reservation---the "temporary facilities" should be updated. If your'e located at the far distance from the main block its a long way to walk!---specially when walking's difficult as in my wife's case---I unhooked the motorhome each morning to drive to the best facilities for her!

Excellent site.

We arrived for a 3 day visit but we loved the site so much we stayed for an extra 3 days,we found it very clean showers etc staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble to them. A beautiful site and the staff were a credit to the Caravan Club, we'll definitely be back.

Favourite site

Our new favourite site. Stunning cliff top location, right on the coastal path, fantastic views from all over the site. Friendly and helpful team and well maintained site. Didn't want to leave.

Great Stop Over

This was a great site the staff where very friendly. The dog exercise area was well fenced off and the showers where great in fact the entire site was well kept. Well Done to all. I was concerned a charge of £2.50 per 24hr Wi-Fi charge though but didn't damper my stay. well done.

Excellent yet again

We have just left this lovely site this morning after spending my birthday there again as I did last year.

The booking in procedure unfortunately was even more chaotic this year than it was last, they only had four hardstanding pitches left by 12.15pm & with six units being held outside the barrier it was a veritable frenzy of people (most, including us, with heavy Motorhomes) all trying to secure a hardstanding pitch after all the rain we have had this last two weeks.

This is such a lovely club site, it surely must have the best location of them all, so WHY has it still got smelly portacabins? It makes no sense at all, on a site of this size & that is so well used how can the CC not see that two full facilities blocks are required? Much smaller & less used CC sites than Trewethett have two blocks which are always in demand. The walk up to the grass pitches now positively smells, I assume the portacabins are on a sesspit of some sort which may need emptying? However, even with all this said, & with the horrible weather we have had recently, we still loved the site & have already booked to return again in September.
