Poor facilities

Lovely view driving down to site overlooking the bay. The only pitches left were at the top of the site on the grass, the view from up there was outstanding. Unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say about our time there. We visited mid September and the site was full,  were told the toilet block that serviced the top of the site would be closing in 2 days time the shower block had already closed. These facilities were actually portacabins and whilst clean not good for a caravan club site. This meant we had to track down a steep hill to the main block in the pitch black as there was no lighting up on the the top where we were pitched. This was not good when it was dark and throwing down with rain. I really feel that if they are willing to take your money and the site is fully booked all the shower and toilet facilities should be available to everyone

Outstanding views

This site main attraction is the spectacular views.some people are moaning about people moving to spots on daily basis .all pitches would have a fantastic view .as for porta logos and showers they were adequate .if anyone was that upset walk 2 mins more to main shower block .  The wardens were helpful and friendly . The walks to Tintagel is challenging but I managed it with a rhumatoid problems .yes I was exhausted but was worth it .if you don't want to walk there is a bus both to Tintagel and boscastle .gad a great time and thought great value for money and would definitely return

First visit

Just returned from a 7 day break. (Returning a day early due to disappointment of the site) We are able bodied 40 yr olds whom have 2 large breed older dogs with a motorhome. We discussed the idea of not taking the car to get around but we are glad we did. The coastal walks to Tintagel and Boscastle we found dangerous and not dog friendly. The portakabins were not to standard of a club site but were kept open for longer due to the busy site and were quite a distance from our pitch.  We were left with the top field upon a unhappy check in and greeting from the assistant wardens, we moved between 2 pitches due to not being able to get level even on large quattro levelling blocks, driving to the pitch we ground the back end of the motorhome which caused us some damage, by looking at the marks on the Tarmac we are not the first! Surprisingly there was a tent on a large hard standing better pitch which I didn't think was allowed. Safe to say we won't return or recommend.

Fabulous Trewethett

This is our third visit this year, further to the previous review regarding the sea view pitches, most people seem to take the best pitch available on the day they arrive & then the following day or so when a 'better' pitch becomes available they then choose to move pitches to one they prefer. This is an every day occurrence on this site affectionately known as the 'Trewethett Tango'. I'm not really sure how the Club could do away with this problem other than to allow the on line booking of specific pitch numbers as a lot of private sites do & maybe charge a premium for the best pitches? The only gripe I would have with this site is the portacabin toilet/shower facilities at the top of the field, very poor for a site of this size & popularity......surely it is time now for the Club to install a 'proper' second facilities block. All in all we love this site it is probably our favorite of all & we will definitely be back next year.

Nice direct views of the sea - if your lucky enough to get the right pitch

We visited in September and arrived midweek so hoped to get a pitch with a direct view of the cove. This was mainly the reason for booking this site , once we decided to visit this area. All the desirable pitches were already taken and some people resited themselves to one of these pitches as and soon as it became free - literally. We were here for 3 nights so stayed on the 'top' field. Warm welcome.Didn't use site facilities. I would advise that directions to site are used. Easy access Timtagel and Boscastle. Would we return? - most likely not.

A lovely site

Very helpful wardens. Nothing too much trouble. Stunning cliff top views. Very clean facilities.  Lovely walks. Short drive to Tintagel which was really pretty. Good local ales.  Would definitely go back.

Panoramic

This site must have one of the best panoramic views I have ever seen and the sun sets are unbelievably beautiful. Very friendly staff that make you feel at home from the minute you enter till the minute you leave. Thank you for a wonderful time and we will be coming again.

Lovely location close to coastal path

Cliff top location with great views out to sea. Coastal path nearby with walks to Tintagel, Boscastle & a dog friendly beach. Boscastle in particular is well worth a visit. Terrain means that reasonable fitness needed to take advantage of walking. Pretty spread out site means that facilities can be a bit of a walk. Main facilities are clean & well kept, thankfully didn't need to avail ourselves of the portacabin facilities. The site would definitely benefit from an additional block of new permanent facilities. Wardens friendly & helpful as usual.
