Absolutely Fantastic!

We stayed here over Bank Holiday weekend and were very, very lucky to arrive straight onto a cliff edge spot. We are relatively new to caravanning and have stayed on none club sites, so we were not so concerned about the facilities, they were always immaculate and we never had to queue. The site was immaculately kept and everything worked. The wardens work constantly to ensure this is the case. We had a stunning weekend, to watch the sun sink into the sea, glass of wine in hand was simply priceless. We also saw a peregrine falcon and, we believe dolphins (well me and the chap next door thought so, his daughter was not convinced). We cannot recommend this site more highly, they have a system for getting a cliff edge spot if you are not as lucky as we were, you ask the person who is leaving and go and ask reception who sort it for you. Finally, try the pizzas they are so good.

Amazing views

First visit to this site and booked it due to the landscape. Bit of a dog fight for pitches, people already on site playing musical pitch to get one with a view. We were lucky and got one first night so stayed put. The views are worth the 450 mile trip from our corner of the world. Like everyone else though we weren't impressed with the showers. Lovely and clean so no problems there, didn't mind that they were old. It was more the temperature fluctuation whilst in the shower, warm to cold to barely warm. Never had to queue before either same with the dishwashing sinks. 4 sinks for such a big site. Our camper only has cold water so had no choice but to use the facilities. Having said that we will definitely visit again. Staff were warm and welcoming. Overall a lovely time.

Bring your binoculars!

Trewethett Farm is a nice site in a stunning location, but your experience will be determined by the pitch you end up with! We arrived at about 3pm in the second week of July and although there were a dozen or so pitches free, they were all in the field at the top of the site. The Wheal Prosper area on the site plan. Lovely views, but steeply sloping and a long hike to the toilet block and reception. So if you're in a motorhome or not too good on your feet, get there early. The coastal path to Boscastle is not too arduous and the Cobweb Inn is well worth a visit. The Tintagel bus back to the site is very handy, but does get crowded. 26 caravaners got off the day we went! However the highlight for me was watching two peregrine falcons hunting the grassy cliff top just below the site on the coastal path. You won't see that every day......

Lovely site in a stunning location

This was our first stop on a two week tour of Cornwall and we were not disappointed! Sunshine for 4 days was a bonus of course! We arrived to find a busy site with the majority of sea view pitches on the edge of the site taken. Luckily we got the best grass pitch with views across the bay towards Tintagel. Wardens were really helpful and suggested that pitch to us. It was however a bit of a walk to the showers and toilet block which despite there being only one was never full. Maybe there should be more amenities in the future? Lots of great walking although a steep and sometimes rocky path to Tintagel needs care. About 40 mins walk there and maybe slightly longer the opposite direction on the coastal path to Boscastle. Some small beaches nearby but not easy to reach and note needs taking of the tides etc. Both Tintagel and Boscastle very different but well worth a visit. Pubs, cafes and a fascinating castle (at T) mean there's lots to see and do. Mind you with the sun as it was it took some beating sitting outside watching the stunning view with a local bottled beer!! We will return I have no doubt.

5 lovely days

This site is in an outstanding location, amazing sea views and if you’re lucky can pitch right on the edge with some of the best views on the network. Staff are friendly and helpful, site is well maintained, good dog walks, there is a regular bus service from site entrance, and some of the best fish and chips I have ever had from the visiting van. With no play area and beach a tough hilly walk (need need to watch the tide) it might not be ideal for kids though. However there is a but, with just 1 amenity block on a site this size is just not enough it is also a little jaded and in need of a refurbishment, a second amenity block that is a mobile toilet trailer is not what I expect from the club, that is just not acceptable with a club this size and its revenue I don’t know how you can do anything about it but it needs addressing. The wardens do their best and everything is clean and tidy but you can’t make a silk purse out a sow’s ear and the infrastructure needs updating to be a 5 star site. When you go there after Damage Barton you can see it’s a shabby and run down site. If anyone senior in the club reads these reviews you have no excuse for not dealing with the infrastructure unless you do not expect the lease to be renewed in near future it needs some of our subscription and site fee cash spent on it. This will not put us off and we will go again, don’t let it put you of if you are thinking of going there the location makes up for any deficiencies in the infrastructure.

Lovely views but toilets and laundry shut for 1.5 hrs a day

This site has wonderful views and being as it's still school holidays, it's very peaceful. The pitches are a good size though. The wardens are variable, one fairly rude but the rest friendly. Its a good, clean site. So far so good. As is always with the C&M clubs the facilities, including the laundry are shut off for far too long in the day. Other sites manage to keep clean facilities without shutting things off to campers. The facilities are basic and far away from many of the pitches. There are no real beaches in the area so probably not best for children. This could be an adult only site actually. If they stopped the rule of closing off faculties just when you need them we might use more of these club sites.

Great Cliff Views ! Shame about the tired sIte

We booked this site for a 8 night stay last week. We found the views from the site to be amazing however found the toilet block to be old and not the cleanest, the one hand dryer in the Men's was out of order, there were cracked tiles and rusty fittings. We guess this site is living on the fact it has great Ocean views. The site has two large arears of pitches, an upper field and a lower area of mainly hardstanding's but only one very tired and outdated shower toilet block and oh my goodness porter cabins as a secondary shower toilet block for the upper field not rearly what you expect. However we decided to leave early due to the poor weather and Wendy the warden was so kind and helpful she cancelled the remainder of our stay and booked us in on an alternative site with a smile and a joke. We feel the wardens on this site are working hard to try to keep it nice however due to the amount of members using the showers and toilets and the lack of facilities, they are fighting a losing battle to keep it clean

Awesome site shame about the guests.

We go to this site every year cos we love this site. We have never had a bad warden on this site and they always do a brilliant job in running it and keeping it clean for everyone. The site itself is perfect for location for walkers of most age brackets, but is a little steep in places. People that go to the site and every other site shouldn't be treating it as if it's their home or yard, cos it's not. You are a guest there so treat it like that. The wardens are not there to be picking up after YOUR dogs and cats. Not just on the grass in the dog walk or around pitches either but was in the middle of the road in the middle of the site. People taking cats and to empty a cat litter tray into a dog poo bag and throw it out of the window for the seagulls to rip it open, wow the ignorance of people is getting worse. We even picked up in the dog paddock which was at the gate 3ft away for the poo bin lol. If you bring a dog and it's not social then put a mussel on it, it warns others to keep a distance and stop's your dog attacking other dogs. The wardens on this site was amazing and couldn't do enough for you, any problem was sorted instantly. Lets show some respect to the people that are there doing a job and keeping it a nice place to stay. I have marked the site down for not been clean due to the scruffy guest's, NOT FOR A POOR by the wardens. It is by far one of the best location sites I go on and will be going again next year. The only thing I have to say about the site is the small wooden fences that's around the toilet block and around site could do with some work. The metal brackets have rusted and some looked to be broken with sharp edges poking out. Other than that loved our stay there again, just a shame about the small minority mucky people that seem to go. See you next year, with Sanka and Madge.(clean dogs that we clean up after)
