Don’t rely on awning

A lovely site with stunning views and some amazing sunsets over the sea. Although quite a big site, it doesn’t feel like it as there are lots of individual areas. Plenty to do in area with many walks from site and other attractions close by Facilities coped ok with limiting numbers, could be a short queue at peak times however. Not sure it’s better to have more people using same showers/WC or allow more people in really and open as normal Stating the obvious maybe but it can get very windy there! I wouldn’t rely on having the awning for living/sleeping as you may need to take it down.

week in caravan

On the whole we had a most enjoyable week at this site. As the Covid situation continues, it made the toilet block arrangements difficult, but it was ok. At the end of the week, our gas locker became jammed, and we struggled to open it. I would like to commend the warden, Neil, who went out of his way to help, and actually managed to get it open. He was also pleasant on other occasions, with our queries.

Views and Walks

This site majors on its views and the coast walks but sadly let down by ageing facilities that are in dire need of updating. The views are stunning from many pitches but you can always ask to move if you are not so lucky. Just beware of Mr Grumpy warden when you do:-) Fine coastal walks either way for the able but only tackle to road to Tintagel if you are aware of the traffic and hilly profile. it takes about 40 mins but sections are dangerous as there isn't pavement all the way. A great site for a few days but the block isn't up to recent club standards and very dirty unless used just after cleaning which is only once a day. Maybe the lack of cleanliness is due to the quantity of users or large areas of grass but whatever the reason it shouldn't be so. Enjoy the site but with limitations.

If you like Cornwall you will love this site.

Just returned from a stay in North Cornwall. The arrival does have a wow factor, The cliff top pitches are great for lovely views of the coast. This site has adopted a strange game of "put the plant pot on your pitch" which was very bizarre and slowed up check-ins considerably. The site is really great for coastal walking Tintagel and Boscastle are really accessible. I would suggest that you should not to bother with St Nectans waterfall. Very overrated farm cafe, a very steep and dull farm track from the road. The local landowners have also made it difficult to walk the public footpaths in the locality with barbed wire and blocked stiles. Better to stick to the coastal paths and Rocky valley etc. A nice site and a view on a par with the Bunree site. If you like Cornwall you will love this site.

Breathtaking views

Our first CAMC stay and it did not disappoint. The views are simply amazing. Lovely clean site and friendly staff. Covid-19 measures were well thought out, some people did forget to take or retrieve their wristbands at the toilets, but we mostly used our own facilities anyway. Not a lot on-site for families per se but plenty to see in the area by car. Really enjoyed visiting St Nectans waterfall which is in walking distance of the site. Highly recommend this site if you want to visit North Cornwall.

Excellent for coastpath

We really enjoyed staying at this site with lovely seaviews and immediate access to the south west coastal path. Very enjoyable to walk to Boscastle and nearby Rocky Valley which is very nearby. We did not walk to Tintagel but that is also a possibility. Not close to any amenities but well worth a couple of days in a motorhome.

A welcome return

Been to this site every year for the past 6 years (taking a break next year). I was concerned as to how such a large site would handle COVID restrictions but generally, it seemed to work OK. Approx 20% (my survey) of people didn't follow the 'wristband protocol' - either forgetting their bands left on the board or entering without one. Facilities were kept clean and the wardens worked hard to keep us safe with sanitiser points in every location. The shop was completely closed during my stay but given it is a small area, that is understandable. Wardens were generally good-humoured but not as visible as in previous years. Access to facilities is managed by a 'band on board' system but suffers (especially in the morning) by not being more flexible over what part of the shower/toilet room is in use. I have no solution and perhaps the safest option (in terms of segregation) is the one implemented. we used our onboard facilities more & showered at night - it worked for us.

Location breathtaking Caravan park... Lacking in wash/toilet facilities....lots of queuing to use facilities. Suspect they should have hired more portacabins. Since the facilities at this site are usually overwhelmed under normal non covid times.....therefore perhaps hire portaloos this week....Felt sorry for tenters having to q q q!!! One of the chemical disposal points was also out of order. New kit coming from head office but appears no urgency. Since nothing had happened in the 10 days we were there. Chap decided to erect a wash line from his van to the wooden fence. Which meant you would nearly decap yr self if passing it. He then attached a plastic bag to it which constantly rattled. Spoke to warden who said they were too busy at that point to deal with it and never dealt with it. Hey ho.. Still had a lovely time despite minor inconveniences.

Lovely location.

Beautiful Cliff top location with wonderful coastline views. We did both coastal walks to Tintagel and Boscastle. The walk to Tintagel was a bit more demanding than Boscastle as you go through the rocky valley but both walks were stunning. We had the best on site fish and chips ever from the van which visits twice a week 😋. We will return!

Lovely site with beautiful views. Facilities clean. Main problem is covid rules in toilet block. Only three people allowed in at one time whether using toilet or showering. Toilets and showers inside block are well separated so why not let three shower and three use toilets at same time? There is plenty of separation. Queuing outside desperate to go to toilet while three people are showering is ridiculous and sometimes painful. I understand they need to try to keep us safe but this system is poor. The toilet/shower block is also closed for cleaning between 10.30 and 12.00. This is a big site and it doesn't give everybody time to shower before it closes. Why not do it later in the day? Other portable toilet block extremely busy during this time. These were the issues which spoilt it for us as we have no toilet or shower facilities in our camper van neither do all the people in tents. caravaners and motorhomers might not have such an issue if using their own facilities. Would probably not return until covid restrictions are lifted.
