Room with a view!

15-19th June - Upon arrival excellent procedure to walk to pitches and select. Double lane parking while checking in at reception. Welcoming staff. All staff at site at time of our stay were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you Excellent information for Covid (if only visitors would follow!) Very clean facilities. Excellent hot tap running water (not press for water). Good size pitches. Well spaced out (for the sunset!) Boy what a sunset; pray for good weather when you are there, beware as sea mist can spoil your view and outside temperature! Magical end of day moments watching the sun set. Dramatic and wonderful coastal walks (beware of snakes!!!!) Good if not regular bus service but be at stop 10 minutes before time scheduled!! As the site is on a cliff top and to get to a beach there is a dramatic climb down then up on return, I would not take my family / grandchildren. Excellent place for folks of our young age! ;) Excellent standards of cleanliness through all facilities used. Leave room in your freezer to take pasties home! Ensure you go on the coastal walks Meander along Boscastle and Tintagel high streets. Take a treatment at the Sea Dolphin at Tintagel. Visit Tintagel brewery Visit St Nectans Glen waterfall Would highly recommend and would visit again. Nice neighbours too! ;)

Wonderful site and location

Had three nights here, mixed bag with the weather, you really can experience every type of weather in just a few hours. I think most people have mentioned about the walks and places to visit so I will just add a few notes that we discovered during our stay but hadn't read about. There is masses of parking in Tintagel, most suitable for motorhomes one even with overnight stays allowed but not with the views or facilities of Trewethett. A really good hardware store in Tintagel that sells just about everything. We didn't do the castle in Tintagel but you can access the stunning bay, Merlins Cave and view the new bridge all from the bay. Toilets, cafe and visitors centre all down at the bay, don't forget your swimwear it was amazing. There is a shuttle service provided by a constant stream of Land Rovers from the village down to the bay, a small charge, I can't recall how much as we didn't use it, but it is handy for anyone with mobility issues or just can't face the walk down or back up, but either way a visit to the bay is a must. Get a pasty from one of the many shops and take it down with you for a lunch on the beach. Two supermarkets in Tintagel, one in Boscastle which was sadly shut due to a COVID outbreak although we were reliably informed due to open again any day. As for the site, yes it is a bit frantic searching out the best pitch clutching a piece of pipe but is better than driving around. Two shower blocks, the one that services the top field pitches are porta cabins, not too bad but obviously not the standard one would normally expect from a CS site, however, we usually use our own facilities so not too much of a problem. The shop stocks most of your essentials and as previously mentioned they do have a take away van visit but we didn't use so can't comment. I think I could safely excuse any small niggling grumbles I might have because of the stunning location of this site, perfectly situated on the South West Coast path between Boscastle and Tintagel, challenging walks in both directions but well worth the effort if you're able. I do have just one last thing to say, as we were leaving at about 11.20am there was already a queue forming to get onto the site and the wardens were letting people on. In the e-mail I got sent I was informed that arrival could not be before 12pm, I can understand people wanting to gain an early entry to grab the best pitches but surely we all have to play by the same rules. And also we can't have rules which some are kept to i.e. limited access to showers and toilets and yet a free for all when it comes to arrival times and getting a pitch. Please take note CAMC and arrive early!

A beautiful view

As previously mentioned, you have a walk around the site with a tube to select the pitch you would like before actually taking your unit to pitch. Very sensible as there are several levels with small enclaves but nowhere to turn around. A superb site with beautiful views of Bossiney Bay from all pitches, the sunsets were amazing! If you enjoy walking the coastal path can be joined from the site, Tintagel is a bit more difficult than the Boscastle walk but the views can make up for that. St Nectan’s Glen is within walking distance with it’s waterfall. Tintagel and Boscastle are lovely places to visit and further afield there is Padstow, Wadebridge, Bude and Launceston. We had a superb week, the wardens were all friendly and helpful and the shop does have most of your essentials. The wildlife around is abundant. There is a fish & chip van that visits twice a week (he also does pizzas) and these were well worth the money. All in all a very pleasant, enjoyable time. Thanks to the wardens who keep the site in very good condition, clean and tidy, well done.

Beautiful, tranquil site

Pitches very well kept, peaceful, with stunning sea views and wildflowers. Staff all friendly and helpful with a cheery wave or conversation whenever you bumped into them. Best bit was the site shop was actually open for basic groceries, cream teas and ice cream (what a bonus). On site dog walk was good with plenty of off site walking for them as well. Bus service regular but not frequent so plan your day if using the bus. We had good weather which helped, but really didn't want to leave. Shame the site is so far away - but that makes it a holiday. Will definitely return.

Fantastic views, great location

Just returned from 10 days at this site, weather mixed but had a good time with the family. The views are fantastic and the site has decent clean facilities which maybe could do with updating. Useful shop onsite for basics with a takeaway visiting twice weekly. Dog walk and playground on site. Boscastle and Tintagel close by. The site is COVID safe and organised well for social distancing. The allocation of pitches is confusing and when we asked for clarification of pitch types available on check in my wife was treated unprofessionally by a member of the management team. They basically moaned about her twice within earshot! The majority of staff were friendly and helpful but the odd one could do with a crash course in customer care and basic good manners. Luckily this didn’t spoil our holiday and apart from that would revisit and recommend.

Fabulous

We normally use CL sites and only used this site because of its location. It was far far better than our previous experience of club sites. The COVID stuff was really well managed and the whole site smacked of cheerful efficiency. As to the location, I don’t know where to start. The views are the best you will ever see and there are coastal walks to both Tintagel and Boscastle. Be aware that the walks are hard work, but great pubs take away the aches and pains! Cost more than we usually pay, but sometimes it’s well worth it.

Beautiful Cliff Top Place

Beautiful spot on a cliff top perfect place for walks to Tintagel/Boscastle and to Bossiney Bay beach but watch out for the last bit of climb down !! The staff are lovely and friendly always stopped for a chat and the site/shower facilities are spotless clean. Note on arrival you are asked to park your vehicle, register and you are given a pipe and of you go and choose your spot, you put the pipe over the stick and go back to tell them your number then you collect your vehicle was funny people dashing about to find the best spot!!! Be nice when booking you can request a sea view spot tho but they don’t. A fish n chip van comes on a Sunday/Wednesday but beware it’s pricey £17 for 2 lots and it was ok nothing special. On the whole it’s a perfect base for sight seeing/walking and to chill on an evening in peace and quiet we will return.

Just returned from a fantastic week

We really enjoyed our week at Trewethett Farm. The wardens Mandy and Keith were really helpful right from our phone call to say we were going to arrive very late due to motorway closure. the whole set up is clean, attractive and well run. Our pitch directly overlooked the sea and the coastal path runs near to the site. Our dog loved quietly sitting at the boundary watching the world go by.

Fantastic site

We have just had a lovely week here , clean , well kept , helpful wardens. The cliff walks and river are beautiful if not a bit challenging ( for me anyway) but there are always buses that drop you back at the site. Our only negative was the fish from the van that comes to the site, it was awful and had never been cod !! But that’s no fault of the caravan site .
