We'll be back....

A few weeks ago, I was looking through the sites to book a couple of nights away and was thrilled to see 2 nights available at Trewethett. With our love of walking and me having always wanted to visit Tintagel Castle, this was perfect. Unfortunately, we arrived during the day just before storm Evert. We weren't going to let it deter us from enjoying the site, it's facilities and fabulous location. The next day brought disappointment that our castle tickets were cancelled due to the storm but as we were so close, we walked to Tintagel, something to eat and then back along the coastal path. In doing so, we could see just how perfectly Trewethett Farm site is situated. The wardens were welcoming and work hard to keep the site looking so good. Good, clean facilities. Great couple of days but as we didn't get to see the castle, just going to have to come back..... can't wait!!

Mediterranean vista from our van!

We can only echo what other campers have said, a perfect spot on the stunning North Cornwall coast. Close enough to busy Tintagel (2 miles) and Boscastle (2.5 miles), but very peaceful. The sea was like glass (w/c 19th July) and Benoath Cove is idyllic at low tide albeit a bit of a scramble. Rocky Valley is below the site and a green idyll in the heat, with fresh water pools to dip in. Onsite there were rabbits everywhere, which we loved (as did the local stoat). Very quiet site with good, clean facilities. We could have stayed much longer and will return. We are a couple without children, so didn't check out the children's facilities. Coast path & access to Benoath Cove would be a trial for small children & not buggy-friendly.

Our favourite club site

This was our third visit to Trewthett Farm. The views are superb. Nearby Tintagel and Boscastle can be walked to along the coastal path. Boscastle Farm shop do lovely breakfasts. Charlies in Tintagel is worth a stop for tea. Trebarwidth strand is a lovely beach when the tide is out. Also within easy reach is Port Issac and Padstow both well worth a visit. The wardens here work hard to keep the site spotless. Its a little bit of paradise.

Beautiful sunsets and lovely walks

Our first visit to this site and it did not disappoint. If you are lucky enough to get the weather the sunsets are glorious, with the added bonus of a pod of dolphins in the bay one evening too. The site facilities are a little tired but clean, wardens are very nice and welcoming, with their little shop handy for some basic essentials. Pizza van and a chip van visit on some evenings but we didn’t try either as we had other things planned, however it would be nice to get info from the site prior to arriving about the types of vans that would be around so we could plan ahead. Little niggle but minor really. Plenty to do in the vicinity like boscastle harbour and tintagel castle, both within walking distance along a spectacular coastal path. Decent footwear needed!! However the most fun to be had is watching people queue up from around 8 so they can change pitch at 9 if a front pitch becomes free. It’s worth the admission fee on its own😁 I had pitch 28 just as you go in and had full view off the glorious sunsets and the Trewethett shuffle

Brilliant site for exploring North Cornwall and with stunning sea views.

A terrific site to base yourself if you want to explore North Cornwall. Site Wardens all very friendly and helpful with good sense of humour. Good sized pitches (we were on hardstanding) have stunning views out over the Atlantic and the sunsets are amazing from here. Enclosed dog walk area and access to coast path from site. Walks to Boscastle and Tintagel require sturdy footwear and some stamina but well worth the effort. We visited in June and had no issue with dog mess or drones so I guess that reviewer was just unlucky? My understanding is that a hardstanding pitch is just the area with the chippings - so to that 'lady' who yelled out of her motorhome window at me one night at 10:30pm I'd just say check your facts love!

First Visit

Our first visit to the site we didn't get off to a very good start - the pitch selection wasn't easy not knowing the site and wasn't communicated well by the staff, however having now seen it work we can understand the need for the process to avoid traffic congestion. this was compounded by significant numbers of pre 12 o'clock arrivals blocking the narrow access roads. the site is in a great location with easy access to the SWCP and spectacular views and sunsets. On the downside it was disappointing to see site staff exercising their dog daily around the site and many site visitors did likewise notwithstanding club rules and an available dog walk . Alfresco dining not pleasant with dogs fouling our pitch just a couple of feet away! Children using the site as a cycle track presents a challenging hazard, while site guests were flying drones .. over the site felt intrusive. But overall its cliff top location justifies another visit

Amazing

This site is amazing there is no doubt about that and the views are to die for however watch out for different sized pitches We got told categorically to move our motorhome to the post despite seeing other vans round the site not doing so ,so very inconsistent This made our pitch ridiculously small for some reason and the one adjacent ridiculously big with alot of wasted space Other than that no complaints except the motorhome that turned up next to us on the last night and decided to switch his air conditioning unit on . This is a beautiful and tranquil site and it somewhat spoilt the atmosphere We feel that the club could do with considering some kind of policy on this issue as we were just told he had every right to have one BUT they are very noisy !

Lovely site in a fantastic location with amazing views

The site is in a fantastic location with cliff top views with amazing sunsets. The check in was straight forward you arrive at reception and are given a piece of pipe and are sent out to find a pitch prior to coming back to reception and informing the team of your intended pitch which works fine. The only gripe I have with this is the small number of inconsiderate members who take a pitch on arrival then trawl the site the following day looking for the best pitches which leaves new arrivals at a disadvantage the guy who was pitched next to us had moved on three consecutive days to get the best view then moved again less than 10mts this is not fair and dangerous when on site we expect to have the movement of vehicles at check-in and check out times but some members are moving all day long. Having stayed at a number of sites this year it unfortunately seems to be the policy which is a real shame and may force members not to renew there membership and look for sites where you pick a pitch prior to arrival. The site is in walking distance of both Boscastle and Tintagel along the SW coastal path and both have pubs and food outlets. The pitches are well spaced out and most have good views the site is quiet on a night and clean and tidy with good toilet and shower facilities.

Great for walkers and explorers

I won't duplicate recent reviews by saying how stunning this site is; even as one approaches it for the first time we had a sharp intake of breath. Staff working very hard to ensure campers have a good holiday which was great. So just a few additional comments: note standard pitch means hardstanding OR grass. None of former (which we prefer) were left when we arrived but in our opinion most grass pitches had the better views to compensate. Our grass pitch, along with many others, was very uneven; with wedges we were still slightly sloping forward. One main toilet shower block but ‘accessible’ toilet and shower good. Band system seemed straightforward but frequently our band on the ‘accessible’ toilet and shower hook was taken off, instead of a ‘normal’ one, by someone on exit, which led to confusion by others also wanting to use this facility. Would definitely come back here for R & R.

Amazing location and helpful friendly wardens

Wow the best site location ever we have now been spoilt as nothing can compare ! we were also fortunate enough to see two amazing unforgettable sunsets one from an “economy” pitch which was probably the best position but economy as no hook up! We moved easily to another fantastic pitch the next day Very welcoming friendly office nothing too much trouble always a wave and a smile Would definitely recommend and return!!
