Peaceful

Spent 2 nights here last weekend. Lovely site. We stayed in one of the glades. Great if you like wildlife, we had lots of birds on our feeder and visits from squirrels and even a muncjack deer. Will definitely be back

September visit

Arrived for 7 nights having prior booked on the club site, no hassle just had to pay.Site surprisingly busy on Sunday afternoon no hardstands available so pitched in the first glade on the left.We then left immediately to go get some shopping before the supermarket closed at 4 and were quite surprised when we got back to find 4 vans that were in the glade had gone, about 4pm.On asking the warden we were told it was common practice to pay for an extra night enabling people to leave later on Sunday ok we just assume they all paid then ! The site is quiet with no sanitary facilities which we knew and was well tended whilst we were there. Like many club sites (which we dont use that often) it had the feeling of welcome if you are known and if not then its very quiet.A good site for peace but the main road is fast outside and this makes turning in from the right interesting. An ok stay rather than a memorable one.

Thetford Forest Caravan Site

A very quiet plesent stay site is clean but has gone backwards slightly this year, there were about 8 grass pitches where the grass was in poor condition due to them being long stay seasonal pitches. There appeared to be a lot of seasonals, restricting pitch choice a little. The hard standings were in good condition but needed weeding. This site is a favourite of ours but has very limited family appeal unless your children are into walking or cycling. No facilities so suits members with good onboard washrooms. A very nice getaway from it all site. The warden did go on about his hourly rate of pay though and needed to keep on top of things a little better.

Amazing oasis of peace & quiet

Spent a weekend here and what a relaxing time! we arrived and received a great friendly welcome from the wardens. Pulling around the site, we decided to take a grass pitch and settle in one of the glades. This was a great decision and we were able to walk the dogs through the forest, following the Desert Rats trail, which is flat and suitable for all abilities. We will definitely be returning.

Thetford Forest Caravan Club site.

we have just spent 3 nights along with our family including two young grandsons at this beautiful, tranquil and superbly maintained site. It's the type of site you leave and want to return to and unquestionably we will. Visited Banham Zoo and Bressingham Gardens/Steam Museum about 35 minutes away. Excellent venues to interest grandchildren. To compliment the site, we met some wonderful people as well, not least the wardens. Keep up your splendid work. Your site is a joy to visit.

Fantastic weeken

Have just spent a fab 2 nights on this glorious site. Needed a quick and quiet weekend away from work without getting too strenuous and this was all our prayers answered. Really welcoming friendly wardens who provided s great deal of local knowledge. The site was beautifully laid out with very large hard standing pitches and grass available too. No shower lock facilities but that was not a problem for us. Great walks literally just by the site. Picked bag full of lovely blackberries which was a bonus for dessert. Can't wait to return to this peaceful paradise

Lovely site very clean and well looked after. Lots of nice walks through the forest or bike rides. Good for children to be children and explore the out doors, instead of being glued to T.V or I-pad etc. Would go again.

Peaceful site with lovely woodland walks

We stayed here for a week in mid-August.  The site was busy at weekends but very quiet during the mid-week period.  Good hard standing pitch (43).  It was well into the site but nicely positioned for the evening sun - not that there was much! The wardens were very friendly and keep the site in excellent order.  There are numerous relatively short woodland walks from the site but many others nearby.  The information hut is well stocked with details. The Desert Rats memorial and walk through the 1944 camp area was very interesting. Apart from the birds the only noise (nuisance) comes from US Airforce jets which fly quite low every weekday but not until after 8am! I have to say we enjoyed watching them. Apart from the local walks we found Sheringham Park was an excellent National Trust park with lovely walks.  Just a car park charge if not members. Well worth the drive.  We also had a trip to Morston Quay - also NT - with coastal paths to enjoy.  We parked late morning and walked to Blakeney. At that time it was very quiet but when we returned in the afternoon the car park was overflowing with people looking to join the seal watching trips that leave from the quay - tide dependent. Overall lovely location with considerable peace and quiet even in mid summer holiday time.

All about location

This was our first visit to the Thetford club site. We would normally stay on CL's but with the BTCC on at Snetterton Race Track there was no local availability. The site is well maintain by the lovely wardens and is a credit to both them for their hard work and to the club. The attraction for us was the walks into the woods directly from the site and the closeness of wildlife sites. Plenty of birds in and around the site. The site is slightly remote so although there were a few children around not sure how long it would be before they were bored!
