Loss of a favourite?

This is one of our favourite sites, the location is excellent and the facilities very good. We are sorry to learn that it is likely to close for "redevelopment" and hope that this does not mean lots of frivilous additions such as social areas, barbecues, big play areas and games pitches, which will mean we will not visit again. On the Saturday of our stay a lot of vans left and by 11.30am new arrivals were being admitted despite the 1pm rule. The whole atmosphere of the place changed with large groups on adjacent pitches, unsupervised children around the site, some on bikes and skateboards, and also dogs, not with a human and not on leads. No chance of any peace and quiet. A "nightmare" for the staff who have our sympathy in trying to control all this for the benefit of the majority of CAMC users of the site.

Peaceful site out of school holidays

Great site for walking and cycling. Clean facilities, friendly staff and, although the site was full, very quiet. Great location for visiting Hunstanton, Sandringham Estate and Bircham Windmill. We cycled on quiet roads using Route 1 and the Peddars Way cycle route. Wood fired pizza van on Thursday and Fish and chip van visits on Friday. Can recommend the afternoon tea at Sandringham Estate for a special treat - use the club savings to get 10% discount. Lots of dog friendly pubs in the area..

Excellent little Gem of a Site

This was by far the best site we have stayed on. It was busy, but still quiet and peaceful. I stayed with my husband and our dog. There are so many walks direct from this site for dog walkers. There is also a small on site dog walk too. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Wonderful area all round. Be aware that it is teeming with wild rabbits so if you have a dog which reacts to them they come out around dusk and dawn. Most other people staying here were of the same mindset and very considerate, but there are always a few who ruin it for others by bringing reactive and unpleasant dogs with them that are aggressive to other people and dogs, there were two pitches with nuisance dogs here during our stay, but they are in the minority thank goodness. We initially booked in for 5 nights but we (and our dog) enjoyed our stay so much, that whilst there we booked another 3 nights. Highly recommend it here, it’s well worth a visit. We just wish it were nearer to us as we live in Kent and would love to make this a regular site we visit. The roads around the area and leading to this site are nice and wide too which we liked. Be aware do not arrive before 1pm as ALL sites including here are clamping down on this. All in all, EXCELLENT, site cannot wait to return in the near future.

Busy but peaceful

This was our first visit to this site and will definitely be visiting again. Even though the site was busy and pitches were few and far between when we arrived, it was still a peaceful stay with little noise. The wardens were friendly and approachable when we arrived and explained where all of the facilities were. The pitches can be uneven so I would recommend taking some ramps or levelling equipment. There are two toilet and shower blocks with one of them being a little dated and not what we are used to with a club site. Given this, they were still kept clean. Sandringham House is a thirty minute walk away and provided a great day out. All in all a positive stay.

What a jewel!

We fell in love with this site from the minute we drove up. Very peaceful and teeming with wildlife. We saw a deer on our first afternoon. So many walks direct from the site and if you need transport there is a bus stop outside the site. The Wifi is shocking, totally unusable in the evenings and not much better during the daytime. The fish and chip van that calls is not good. Our fish was very thin and so overcooked it was like eating nothing but batter. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site.

Great stay

We have just returned from several days at this site - perfect for visiting Sandringham House and Gardens. Lots of walking in the Park. We walked to Castle Rising where we visited the English Heritage site. We visited Sandringham House which was beautiful. Bus stop outside the site with regular buses into Kings Lynn and Hunstanton.

Lovely stay and a great site

Lovely site in beautiful wooded location. Great walks, easy to access and wildlife all around. The wardens couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Only slight moan were the showers at the upper block, which although spotless, didn't feature the usual club seat, with small wall to prevent splashing. Fine for us as it was a quiet period and we just walked to the larger block near reception. However, as we said to the wardens this is one site we will definitely return to.

Nice one night stay

Only stayed for 1 night so can’t comment on all facilities. Greeted by a lovely efficient lady. Told we could choose our pitch. Lovely location amongst trees in the estate. Had a quick walk round during evening seemed clean and tidy, all you could want. But need a long aerial lead if want to watch TV. But local rabbits were free to view.

Ideal Location - Easy Access

The Sandringham site is a favourite with us and a venue that features very often on our annual itineraries. Being laid out across a slope with two separate sanitation blocks there is convenience for those who do not use their own facilities. Unfortunately the facilities are tired with very limited water flow in some of the showers and broken seat fittings in some. The location is good for walking and for cycling as there is a network of quiet lanes and footpaths to explore both within the park and further afield. Mobile food vans visit the site offering fish and chips and wood fired pizzas on different weekdays. A regular bus route and bus stops are sited immediately outside the site entrance making visits to nearby Kings Lynn and Hunstanton easy to reach. With a linking bus route continuing around the North Norfolk coast it is possible to visit more distant resorts in this charming area. The site is surrounded by mature trees and woods and therefore sheltered from the breeze. We found the TV Booster system did not work well but our on-board antenna gave us an adequate reception. The check-in procedure was easy enough and the customary friendly wardens were what we would expect. There is no doubt we will be returning to this cherished location and would recommend it but it would be good to see the sanitation facilities made good and repairs carried out.

Good Location/Setting/Facilities, AWFUL WiFi

Largely unchanged since my last stay a few years ago, apart from the still awful WiFi access (a new service grade BELOW 'Bronze' needs to be invented for this site !) everything else is up to normal good standards. The location is obviously excellent for the park and the bus stops right by the entrance add so many more possibilities - if you walk the short distance to the A149 then another pair of stops give more flexibility for the hourly bus route differences; these also allow for easy King's Lynn train access etc. There is a cycle path from the A149 and a few other ways to go outside of the park, but going further afield can be a little tricky by foot/bike as there are not THAT many public footpaths as so much of the adjoining land is privately-owned - careful study of OS maps is needed !
