Such a Friendly Site

From the moment we arrived early on Friday lunchtime the staff were so friendly and welcoming, which adds so much to your stay. The grounds were clear and well manicured and the toilet shower facilities were spotless. In complete contrast to the last club site I stayed on, Clumber park where the staff were unfriendly and un welcoming ( would never go back). Sandringham was perfect for us so we have booked again in July. Well done to everyone at the site, your a credit to the Caravan Club,

Good location for a short break

Just finished a short break at this site with our motorhome. Site is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great location for walking and cycling around the Estate and the local area. Pitches are a good size and reasonably level but would recommend having levelling ramps to fine tune. Expect to visit again as it is a great area for a peaceful break.

Perfect location for peaceful evenings and daytime country walks

Really enjoyed our winter weekend break here, despite the wet weather. During the winter the top half of the site and one of the shower blocks are closed, but there is still plenty of room and just having one facilities block open is more than sufficient. There were plenty of other units on the site but the only other person I saw in the ladies was a man in a dressing gown who’d gone in the wrong door! Castle Rising nearby is worth a visit and a drive around the north Norfolk coast is a must. Unfortunately Sandringham House was closed, we would have liked to visit, but this just gives us an excuse to return in the summer.

Beautiful setting

We had a wonderful stay here over New Year and can't wait to go back in May/June when all the Rhododendrons are in flower

Stormy Weather

We have just completed another stay at the Sandringham site, a great place to chill out and on this visit we certainly did! The week started off with typical cold and bright November weather and we spent a few days visiting some of the picturesque Norfolk towns but a big change was about to occur. Towards the end of week the Met Office issued a severe weather warning for forthcoming storm Arwen which had us scrambling to take the awning down before it went flying across the Wash with us hanging underneath, Mary Poppins style. Although violent the storm was somewhat subdued in our area however we decided to extend our visit to avoid towing home in the gusty wind. After the storm had passed our new departure day dawned sub-zero with the car covered in a thick layer of frost and icicles hanging from anything that was cold enough for icicles to hang from! Another visit to reception and warden Sue amended our booking again so we could stay a little longer. So, instead of traveling home we spent another day exploring the estate woods and despite the cold it was invigorating to walk along the tracks on a sharp frosty day spotting the varied wildlife. We finally returned home on a typical grey November day which was calm and uneventful. Our thanks to wardens Steve, Mark, Les and Sue for keeping the site so nice and always having a cheery word when we passed them.

Looking Tired

We love the Sandringham site and have returned here many times over the last 20 years. We love the walks directly from the site around the estate, the local pubs in Dersingham and Castle Rising, and the peaceful nature of the area. We have just returned home from another weeks stay there and although having an enjoyable time again there are a couple of things I felt the need to share. The pitches are now looking tired after years of use the gravel and hard standing is very compacted which impedes drainage. The leaf litter breaks down and helps compact the gravel leaving a muddy mess on some pitches. I am sure this does not happen during the summer but in autumn and winter the problem is exacerbated and many pitches now need top dressing with gravel. Other little annoying things which fall below the CCs high standards like plugs missing from sinks and tiles missing from the chemical toilet emptying point. I know these sound petty but if not dealt with straight away they build up to create a bad impression, not worthy of such a beautiful site. Come on Caravan Club lets maintain the previous high standards of this lovely location by a little investment and maintenance

A Relaxing Place To Stay

We recently completed another visit to this lovely site, this time for two weeks and with friends who came down from Northumberland for their first visit. As always the wardens here gave us a warm welcome. We love this site, it is such a relaxing to stay with the soft ambient sounds from the surrounding woods and the chance to see deer or a red kite if you are lucky. It is a well maintained site spread over three areas with good sized pitches and two amenity blocks. There are lots of nice walks in this area with a favourite through the woods to the Sandringham visitor centre with variations on which route to take and some other nice woodland walks too. I recommend Dersingham Bog nature reserve which is a mixture of woodland walks and open fen with boardwalks. There are several routes around this place with easy to follow signs with coloured arrows, a good place to enjoy a walk and take a picnic. This was a place recommended by the wardens and is accessed from Wolferton. We hope to return again soon, this is a top place to chill out.

Sandringham 5 nights October

Had a great 5 nights, site needs a bit of updating but can't complain under the circumstances this last year a so, nice clean site toilet and shower block a bit old, cold, low pressure shower, otherwise a nice straight site, mobile single is very poor but not bothered to much we went for a rest, good TV if you have a cable, great position surrounded by beautiful countryside, nearby castle rising is well worth a visit for £5 each, chip van comes a couple of times, not bad value for money, very close to sandringham house so don't forget to take a Corgi, we will go again 🙃😉🙂😊😎, caravan and motor home club website is totally rubbish though drives me mad I'm glad the sites are better than the website 😡

Autumn Break

We spent three nights on the site and as usual the facilities and site team were first class. A friendly welcome at check in really makes all the difference after a morning of packing up, locking up, hitching up, setting off, driving etc. The site was virtually full over the weekend but the toilet blocks and service points were kept spotlessly clean and tidy. We enjoyed walks through the woods to Sandringham Visitor Centre, had a trip to Wells next the Sea for a long stroll from the town down to the beach and back (excellent fish and chips) and a warm day in Sunny Hunny where were walked all the way along the prom to Heacham and back, taking in the eclectic mix of beachside houses along the way! Just two points to note, we found that the onboard aerial gave better tv reception than the TV point on the pitch bollard and we were pitched in the "90s" on the lower part of the site where there was more traffic noise from the nearby road than we've noticed on previous visits to this site. Certainly not intrusive during the day but noticeable from about 5am as folks from nearby villages head off to work. All in all, great site, well cared for by the site team and a great location for exploring the North West of Norfolk!

My New Favourite Site?

Another fantastic site! Great for walking and cycling . The facilities blocks were always clean, no matter what time of day or night. I love Black Knowl, just not sure if this site has the edge?
