A week of de-stressing

A lovely site with the usual high standards I've become used to from the Caravan Club sites.  Set in woodland with an abundance of walks from my caravan door as well as blustery beach walks a few miles away, this was an intended week of relaxation, and that's exactly what it did. A couple of moments of concern when the TV reception blipped in the middle of a 6 Nations game but it stuttered back in time for the second half :) My first visit to this site and it definitely won't be my last. As usual, I couldn't fault it. Thank you Caravan Club.

A good short winter break

It was a spur of the moment decision to have a few days away in the cold! We were not disappointed, thank goodness the immaculate sanitary block was well heated. The hard(ish) standings were the easiest ever for pegging our awning, thank-you.The walking was good but the Norfolk Coastal Path was unexpectedly muddy. H.R.H. has excellent taste in carpets, the one in the Sandringham cafe matched our dining room perfectly.

Winter Break

We had a 3 night stay at Sandringham between Christmas and New Year. Our stay was as enjoyable as ever. It is lovely walking through the woodland and parkland to the visitor centre area. We went to Hunstanton on the bus and had a bracing walk along the sea front. We also went on the bus into Kings Lynn, with its pleasant waterfront and interesting buildings. The bus stop is located right outside the site entrance and there is an hourly service in both directions. The Hunstanton bus calls at the Sandringham visitor centre, so could be useful for visitors unable to walk too far. We look forward to visiting this site again later in the year.

New Year at Sandringham

There's a first time for everything. After 42 years caravanning we decided to go away for New Year and we're not winter caravanners. We love the Sandringham site and were certainly not disappointed, always clean and tidy and the wardens were great. We particularly enjoyed the get together on NYE for drinks - well organised and a very friendly gathering. Walking is superb both on the estate and around North Norfolk and we were considerably luckier with the weather than other areas. We were with friends so spent most evenings together which was good fun. Would we do it again? Probably not - darkness at 4.00pm makes for a long night and it is virtually impossible to come away with a dry awning. But all in all a very enjoyable experience, we'll be back to Sandringham but not in the winter.

Great Stay

Yet anotherd lovely stay at Sandringham. Site is good and the Assistant Wardens (Peter and Mark I think) cannot commend them highly enough. They made a tremendous effort at Christmas to make the site look festive and were always helpful, cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. They work really hard. They deserve a site of their own. Fish and Chips on site delicious. However would like to point out the cost of site fees now getting too high so although would love to return will be looking for CL's. Pensions only go so far. It would be good if the Club gave a discount to the older caravanner as we are the ones who keep the sites going in the quiet times. When we left there were only about 25 caravans left on site so it looked pretty empty. Food for thought I think.

Christmas and New year Break 2015

While not our first time on this site, it was our first winter break in our motorhome. We always enjoy this site and tried to get here in 2014 but it was full. The reception on site was well up to the expected standards even though the wardens were temporary. The facilities were up to the usual high standards and the seasonal decoration were good. The 2 assistant wardens were excellent, their people skills are superb. Always looking pleased to see you even in the pouring rain we got instead of snow. Always had a cheerful remark in any circumstance. We cheerfully give all involved in the running of the site a THANK YOU for helping to make our break memorable for more than the weather.

New year escape !

It was our first time away at New year .... Brilliant! The wardens were excellent hosts especially the drinks and nibbles in the decorated garage. So much work and effort was put in by the team. It was great chatting to Keith the warden during the evening about his sugarbeet !! We too look forward to visiting again in the spring/summer

Two Weeks Over Christmas

First time away at Christmas and New year.  Excellent Wardens - all four of them.  The 2 boys decorated the site really well and also decorated the tractor and trailer for bin collection on Christmas day - yes, they collected bins on Christmas day!  Facilities very clean.  Caravans and motorhomes decorated with lights that made it feel very festive.  I had a toothache and needed to see a dentist and Sara Howell Warden gave me advice as to where to find one - wrote all the details on a piece of paper and enquired after about finding it.  Great service. Bus stop outside site to run you into local towns and beyond.  Good play area for children.  Great walk from inside the site to Sandringham House visitor centre where you can eat in the Cafe great food at a great price with huge portions.  When we visited - 3 times - there was only 1 veggi option but the soup was also veggi. This was our 2nd visit to Sandringham and thoroughly enjoyed both visits - would like to go to see the gardens in the Spring.  Oh! Also saw Sophie Prince Edwards wife out jogging.

Break for the New Year

My family and I stayed here for a week over New Years.  The site is situated in a stunning part of Norfolk in the Sandringham grounds.  The site is well kept and as expected run like a tight ship.  The wardens are very friendly and helpful.  Hunstanton is worth a visit as it's only 15 mins away (a little longer if you get caught up in the traffic as the roads are not great around this part of the UK)  Also worth going to the visitors centre at Sandringham House. They serve great food.
