Nice Site, shame about our pitch

We have stayed at this site on several occasions and this was a last minute decision due to problems with the CS site we had booked. We telephoned the warden who told us the only pitches available were on grass but as we were only staying 3 nights (and it had been dry) we booked in. Unfortunately the pitch was quite sloping, full of rabbit holes and quite muddy. For this we paid exactly the same as for a spacious hardstanding pitch - £24.20pn. I don't know why breathable groundsheets were not allowed as the pitch could not have suffered any more damage! Everything had to be cleaned off before we left - aquaroll, wastemaster, table, chairs, etc. I feel that the grass pitches at this site are vastly inferior to the hardstandings and should be charged at a cheaper rate. In addition the grass area behind the pitches was used by several people as an unofficial dog walk. The site itself is very pleasant with direct walks through the woods on to the Estate. Facilities are well kept and usual CC standard although the block we used could probably do with a bit of refurbishment.

Pleas lift your groundsheet!!

A return trip for 2 nights, everything you would expect from a caravan club site.  BUT - we arrived late in the day and understand that on a full site you have to take what pitches are on offer.  As a motorhomers we like a fairly flat pitch.  The only one suitable had been used previously by an outfit with an awning and they obviously did not lift their groundsheet during the day.  Where our door was positioned was mud and to make matters worse there was signs that the grey water tank had been leaking or emptied out on the pitch!!!!  We did not let it spoil our stay but it was a nuisance and the mindlessness of a few spoils it for others.

GEM

Stayed for 3 nights from 12th September and managed to get a decent spot on a very busy site. Friends had arrived before us and we managed to get settled close by. Site has everything you want in spades. Dont understand the noise comments in a previous review save the RAF playing up in the air. Local fish and chip van arrives 3 times a week and is of good quality. Big portions. The walk through the woods is well worth doing but be warned, your dog stands a chance of getting some mysterious illness. The wardens have plenty of signs around the site and one animal was suspected to have caught it while we were there. When we got to the house we found that dogs are not allowed even into the grounds never mind the house. We had the same problem at Greenwich, seems dogs are banned from any Royal park. A visit to the church was okay and that was stunning. Prices for ice cream were a bit steep but you have to pay for the upkeep somehow. Great site to visit, gives access to Hunstanton a lovely proper seaside town. the Waterside was a nice find for lunch, popular with the coach loads of visitors but empty after 2pm. One to return to.

Jewel in the crown

Magnificent site and setting with some great pitches and settings. There is some traffic noise and the wash blocks internally could do with a refresh and a re-jig.

Excellent Base

We have been to this site several times over the years, and it never fails to impress. We enjoy bird watching, and without travelling too far there are many places where this is possible (RSPB Titchwell, and Snettisham) Sandringham House is a walk away through the woods, and Kings Lynn is close for shopping. The site is well maintained by very friendly hard working wardens. Unfortunately during our stay there were reports of possible recurring problem with viral problems for dogs in the woods. We don't have animals, but obviously this was disconcerting for people on site who did have dogs. All in all we had a wonderful break at this wonderful site.

Beautiful Site

Stayed at this site for 9 nights. One of the most pleasant sites we have stayed on. The location of the site was ideal for visiting places such as Hunstanton, Sandringham House, Walsingham, The Norfolk Lavender Fields. The site was well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very peaceful and we would not hesitate staying at this site again.

Great Stay, ideal location for Sandringham

We are a family of three (with an 8yr old), this was our first time on this site and is now probably our favourite.   The location is arguably the best thing about the site. Ideal for Sandringham, with a lovely woodland walk from the site (wear sensible walking shoes). Also the Norfolk beaches are easily accessible, such and Brancaster (approx 25-30mins drive) where we had a fab day building some great sandcastles. The site itself is very clean and tidy and blends in beautifully with its surroundings. Access is good and well signposted with supermarkets etc.. just a 5-10mins drive away. The only negative to be aware of is that the pitches whilst a great size and well attended, aren't level. We tried three different pitches before finding one that didn't need a blackbelt in levelling. That said we're booked to go back again in 2 weeks time for a cheeky weekend.
