Lovely site

A nicely kept site with friendly wardens. We visited with our 2 dogs for the weekend of the Game & Country Fair. We found there was plenty of warnings of Seasonal Canine Illness, so we purposely didn't walk our dogs in the woodland. Sadly a family chose to allow their dog to wander around off lead and our Labrador was attacked without warning. Sadly spoilt our weekend but we'll be back next year.

Not a site we would return to!

We have just spent a week on this site. The location is great and we received a warm welcome from the wardens. However, we were delayed on our journey and so didn't arrive until 4.30. There was only one hard-standing pitch left by this time which was very uneven. When we looked round the site later, we noticed that most of the pitches were uneven. This is not a cheap site to stay on and I feel that more could be done about this. The toilet block that we used was rather tired and outdated and only had 3 showers for such a busy site. However, the worst thing was the woodpigeons which were an absolute nuisance. They were constantly landing on the car and the caravan from early in the morning onwards and both ended up full of droppings. All in all, it is not a site that we would return to!

NOT GOOD FOR DOGS

Please ,if you have a dog consider very carefully visiting this site. We deliberately avoided taking our dog into woodland areas and he has still been very ill, we thought several times during the week that he was going to die. We came home early after having a really awful time. We and the dog are exhausted.

WARNING ALL DOG OWNERS!!

You MUST read my review 1st September. At least one dog had died and two others have been critically ill. SEASONAL CANINE ILLNESS is a killer but is not being given the high risk status it needs.

Great Location

Very pleased with this site. Great location for exploring Norfolk. The toilet block was not as modern as some sites but clean. Very peaceful apart from the early morning pigeons that seemed to enjoy making a lot of noise jumping about on the roof of our motorhome! Very likely to book a return visit.

WARNING ALL DOG OWNERS !!

You must read my review 1st September. You could be putting your dog at risk of death. Thank you to the previous reviewer for confirming that people are not being consistently advised and processes / procedures need to undergo radical changes. The Caravan Club are not highlighting the very serious nature of this killer disease. They highlight "a new dog walk on site" but cannot guarantee that this dog walking area is clear due it's position within the forest.

A fantastic site

We had read reviews before we got to the site suggesting that pitches were too small and too close. I think this must have been a different site because when we arrived in Sandringham we found plenty of roomy pitches to choose from. The site was immaculately maintained and the Site Team (I like that much better than Wardens) were welcoming and friendly and a real credit to the Club. There is so much to do and see in North Norfolk and good weather helped us enjoy an area that we are familiar with. We have changed our October booking to visit the site again.

Lovely Site

We had 9 nights here over the August bank holiday and really liked it - the warden was really friendly when we booked in and very helpful in advising on a quiet pitch away from the play area, the site is very well laid out into different areas so you could park up in any of them and if you wanted to be near the play area you could be quite easily - the play area was very nice and we look forward to returning with our grandkids in the future I had seen reviews criticising the toilet blocks but they were adequate and really clean You can see the hard work that is put in by the wardens as you walk around The only downside for us was the canine disease that appears to be a problem We were saddened reading one of the recent reviews over a dog that died - really sad - hope the others recover ok There was ambiguity over this from the site team as when they first arrived they said that they walk their dogs in the woods, however we heard them tell somebody else a week later that the didn't take their dogs in there I wonder if this was after the unfortunate incident with the Spanish Water dog in the other reviews What I can't understand is if the wardens were aware (I'm sure that they would have been) of the other incident they weren't mentioning it when you collected your paper etc If we had know of the seriousness of the other poor dog we wouldn't have gone in the woods with our border terrier
