What friendly, helpful and hard working Wardens. The site & all facilities were kept spotlessly clean which was so reassuring with the current cov-id situation.
So many excellent dog walking paths through the woods, very easy to walk to Sandringham House, Gardens & Shop. And also so very tranquil when on site. Without doubt this is one of the best we’ve ever stayed on.
Lovely clean site
Lovely clean site. On arrival the payment system had failed. No problem. We were asked to pitch up and go back to reception with pitch number and pay then. The two guys on the gate were really good and efficient making light work of the short queue. The rest of the wardens were extremely polite and helpful. There is a fish and chip van that visits three times a week and a pizza van once a week. The area is beautiful. We visited Castle Rising which was good despite the weather’s best/worst efforts! You can walk to Sandringham House or drive to Hunstanton where you can visit the town or sit up in the cliff top car park and watch the world go by. The facilities as always were spotless.
Beautiful landscaped site
Spent 3 x nights here in May 2021.
This is one of the best Club sites we have stayed at. It is impeccably maintained and clean.
The wardens are so friendly and helpful.
Pitches are roomy - ours being on the edge of woodland, which was lovely.
What sets this site apart is the Sandringham Estate woodland, which is simply gorgeous - loads of fantastic walks, and cycle paths.
We walked to Sandringham House twice, taking different routes there and back on both occasions. The straight forward direct walk takes a leisurely 30 minutes. On another occasion, we walked back around the outside perimeter of the Estate. Whichever route you care to take, it is beautiful.
We visited the Queens Sandringham Estate gardens, which was lovely - well worth a visit. The house was reopening the day we departed. The shops and visitor centre was lovely too and well worth a visit.
It is a site we cannot wait to revisit !!
Return To Sandringham
We arrived at Sandringham for a two and a half week visit at the end of April and received a very warm welcome from wardens Steve and Mark. This was our second trip out since the lockdown ended and we are finding the club sites are now running standardized covid precautions and feel safe and comfortable.
This site is well run by a great team of wardens, our thanks to Steve & Mark, Les & Sue, Alastair & Alison and not forgetting Fern the dog. Even on cold and wet days they always managed to remain bright and cheerful.
Sandringham has become a firm favourite with us with its wonderful ambient woodland sounds and picturesque walks. On one evening walk we saw several muntjac deer in the woods quite close to the site.
A memorable event was the spectacular late evening storm during our first week. Thunder and vivid lightening accompanied by hailstones the size of sugar lumps rattled on the roof and sagged the awning. They were much louder than the tap dancing roof pigeons and took two days to melt!
This area has plenty of interesting towns to browse, both coastal and inland all within an hour's drive. If you want to get away from it all for a quiet day there are lots of nature reserves and beach walks close by. I would recommend the Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve which is just under 30 minutes drive away. We took a picnic and had a lovely day there.
We have several more bookings coming up but already have a return trip to Sandringham planned.
Sandringham - A must visit place
Amongst other members we have spoken to the Sandringham site seems to have a bit of a “must visit” reputation. Having spent a few days here, we now know why. Set within the royal estate it’s in a peaceful and relaxing location. The staff are all top drawer, very helpful and welcoming, and the site and facilities were spotless. There are lots of walks from the site around the estate that take you to places where all you can hear is birdsong and the breeze in the treetops. There are also some good cycle routes, but off-road cycling on footpaths around the Royal estate is not permitted. That said we found the estate roads were fine and not too busy. We followed the national cycle route 1 (70% of the route is off road but tarmac) from the site down to into Kings Lynn, with an enjoyable stop at the tearoom at Castle Rising. To the east and north are also some quiet lanes that loop out to Anmer, Shernbourne, Ingoldisthorpe and back via Dersingham. For us a highlight was riding down to the village of Wolferton just to the west. (Using a quick zig-zag on the estate roads you can avoid the busy A149 to get there). This is where the now redundant but beautifully preserved Royal station is situated, and which together with the entire village still seems exist at the beginning of the last century. It’s also the home of the Royal Horse Stud (sadly no visitors though). On the final day we wandered along to Sandringham and were not disappointed. Although the house was closed the gardens were open and both stunning and tranquil, even on a grey rainy morning in May. We will return to this site because it’s a great location and there is a great deal see and do.
Nice site
A well kept site, great location and we would visit again, but a couple of points to note.
It’s marketed as good for dogs and cycling , it is but not together. All cycling routes from the site are on road. It’s a busy road, there are no off road cycling routes from site. If like us we planned to cycle with our dog it’s a definite no, no.
There is just one off road route through the Sandringham estate and it’s not very long, most of the estate does not allow cycling.
In addition upon arrival we entered reception to be sternly told “ only one at at time “ I left with no complaints but after we had set up, we walked passed reception to see a more mature couple who had just arrived chatting merrily away inside reception !!! We refrained from commenting to the grey haired lady who served us.
Booked for next year!
We decided to change to another site about a week before because of Covid restrictions and having not been away since 2019. We are glad we did change as this is a lovely site with plenty of walking and our daughter could ride her bike whilst we were walking too. In total we did 24 miles in 2 days not quite the 30 miles our daughter told the site warden but close enough. If you wanted to go to Sandringham Grounds it couldn't be nearer but we chose to walk to little villages and had a thoroughly good time. We were very lucky with the weather as we left on the Monday the heavens opened! The wardens couldn't have been more helpful or friendlier if they tried.
Really enjoyable stay
We loved our stay here. Easy to access with no worrying restrictions. It is in the middle of the Sandringham Estate Forest so you can walk off the site in any direction for miles and enjoy the countryside. We were lucky enough to arrive the day after the new "Royal Playground" had opened at the entrance to the Sandringham Gardens. Our little person had a great time playing there for an hour or so.
The site was very quiet and well looked after. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean.
Highly recommend a stay here
Lovely and Peaceful site
Returned after a very peaceful stay at this lovely clean site. Felt totally safe and everyone followed site rules for Covid-19 safety. Staff all helpful and friendly.
Had fish & chips on Friday from the visiting van took a long time for them to cook as obviously cooking fresh on site, was a bit disappointed that the chips were not very hot.
On Thursday we decided to have a Pizza from the Wood Stove pizza van (cooked fresh) but this was a huge disappointment. I paid £9 each for a wafer thin (more like a wrap) pizza with a topping that was sloppy and if there was any bacon on it I don't quite know how much but you really couldn't taste it, both myself and my husband was left hungry and had to eat something else afterwards. So I would advise that if you don't want to waste your money don't get tempted with the Pizza.
Apart from the food everything else about out stay was fabulous.
Thank you to all the staff at Sandringham Site

Lovely peaceful site
Easy to find and access this site; very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well maintained. Good sized pitches. Peaceful stay, ideal for couples. Easy access to north coast of Norfolk for walking etc. Will definitely recommend and visit again. Managed to get a one bar phone signal so did not use the site wi-fi, which seemed a bit expensive for a few days and not worth the hassle.
