Very friendly staff

All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Brilliant location for Sandringham and for walking. Toilet block very clean but is getting to the point of a refurbishment. Site is kept immaculate. Highly recommend a visit.

A good site

We stayed in the upper part of the site and found it quiet and peaceful. We used our own WiFi and did not have any problems at all with the signal. The site is well located for visiting the nearby sites documented in other reviews and the site literature. There are some great walks straight from the site and the Sandringham Estate Office is a short walk away. Our pitch was OK but we noticed that some pitches were quite uneven. We did suffer from some insect bites but that is to be expected in a caravan site in the woods. Overall, a nice site.

Walkers paradise

So glad I hadn’t read the negative reviews before we booked because we loved the site. Yes phone signal weak but phone had 4G and our motorhome WiFi had full signal so could call on WhatsApp or FaceTime. Plugged our tv cable into the bollard and excellent signal. The site was very well groomed and maintained, facilities blocks are ready for a refurbishment but were clean, so fine. Wardens all friendly and helpful, they had printed off walks from the site and bus timetable (bus stop at site entrance) these were free to pick up from information room, which also had lots more useful info inside. Sandringham estate and woodland had lots of paths, the house & gardens were closed during our visit so I expect it would be busier when they are open. We also walked to Dersingham nature reserve and Castle Rising castle, both worth a visit. Excellent tearooms at Castle Rising ! Excellent for motorhomers as so much in walking distance and regular buses close by for trips further afield. We will definitely be going back !

Great site but terrible club Wi-Fi

Great site we love coming here for the location and the walks through the woods on the Sandringham estate, great for the dog. Toilet blocks old but clean, site well kept by the wardens. We wouldn’t normally worry about phone or WiFi when away but needed it this time so decided to pay the £15 for the clubs premium WiFi for our long weekend, complete waste of money it’s useless at best. We were on pitch 26 and my one bar on 4g (sky mobile) on my phone was better! Come on CAMC sort it out or don’t offer the service you can’t call it premium WiFi if it’s not fit for purpose!

Excellent site

First time staying here and and we very much enjoyed it. Great site, staff were helpful and very friendly. Facilities were kept very clean and showers were nice and hot. The site itself is brilliantly placed if you have a dog or enjoy bird watching. The walks around the estate are lovely. There are plenty of facitilies close by too. The site is very easy to access and I would thoroughly recommennd staying here.

A great site with especially good wardens

We stay here as often as we can as it's a great location that is well maintained, with access to lots of interest nearby. The staff are particularly helpful and informative. Highly recommended. The points for improvement: a better, boosted wifi system (especially as so much is now online) and some fully serviced pitches would make a real differencer.

Great for motorhomers

A nice quiet site but with a great bus service right from the entrance to the site that gives easy access to Kings Lynn ( much nicer than we expected) and the Norfolk Coast. Bus passes accepted and the staff had put the bus times in the information room.

Ideal Autumn Break

We regularly visit this very welcoming site as it is an easy drive from our home in Rutland and is ideal for access to the North Norfolk coast The site is served by an excellent bus service which we now use as our primary method of travel around the area. We have found that good quality torches are a must if you are likely to be out and about after dark.

Beautiful & fantastic site

After booking this site for the beginning of September, I became concerned after reading all the negative review, to list a few poor TV reception, poor wifi signal, poor mobile reception and disappointing facilities. Well none of this proved to be true. Yes mobile reception in the area as a whole was not the best but our EE signal was OK, we managed to use my mobile as a hotspot for the TV and thus watch several films on Netflix, the only time it failed was when we had very bad weather. TV reception was fine by connecting to the bollard with an aerial cable. The wifi at the site has just been updated and ytou can get limited free wifi anywhere on site plus pay for wifi if you wish to use it to download TV etc, but as already stated we used mobile hotspot when required. The facilities were fine, clean & well maintained and the staff fantastice. The public transport in the area was great with a bus right outside the entrance. A really lovely site well worth a visit, peaceful, quiet in a beautiful setting, not sure what some people expect, but we would highly recommend a visit to this site and look forward to visiting again.

always a delight to visit

I felt I had to step in and write a review for this site which I have visited many times over the past 5 years. The site is on the Sandringham Royal Estate, and located in a forest. That means a fews things you need to expect. Trees. These are big green things and there are lots of them. and just like trees everywhere else in the world, they have the magnificent ability to absorb radio signals. They also offer perfect conditions for wildlife, birds and insects. So you can expect, and as it states on the site info.. a) poor t.v. reception b) poor mobile network reception c) wildlife and d) insects Fell free to moan about the phone signa. The Club, site and staff can do nothing about it.. That is up to the mobile network providers and, being an industry I work in, I can assure you a campsite repeater for every network in a forest location is very low on their priorities.. so low, it doesn't exist. North West Norfolk is generally notorious for poor mobile reception away from the main towns. If you want 24/7 connectivity, then perhaps Norfolk isn't the place for you. Generally we have always managed to get some sort of a signal on the upper part of the site, albeit low. and normallly ownly out side. Your caravan/motorohome/campervan is a faraday cage,,,, it blocks radio waves.. so when you draw the blackouts, close the doors, any signal you might have had gets reduced further....unless like myself i have fitted a 4G repeater and external aerial on my van... Don't leave a bad review just because you can't switch off and you want to balme the Club the site. If it upsets you that much write to your service provider.. That being said the new club wifi ( free ) should keep you happy now.. but dotn expect to stream movies or play online games. Do that at home... Wildlife and insects... welcome to Nature. You are guests in THEIR space. Get used to it.. We have never had an issue visiting the site, either with the staff or the facilites. The shower blocks are perfectly adequate an a lot better than other sites but yes, like all facilities used year round, they are due a refurb. - which is tricky when the site is open all year round.. but an refurb is planned. I just hope they dont fit pushbutton showers and fit a slightly stronger repeater pump.. But that is up to the club site maintenance planners not the site staff. The staff have always been welcoming and helpful. I admire their ability to answer the same questions every day with a smile, and to endure the criticism that gets left on here... We are back on site this weekend 10/11/12 November and looking forward to it immensely...
