This site is impeccably clean, well managed and i would thoroughly recommend it! The facilities are exceptional, and there is an incredibly useful Information room that houses loads of leaflets on local activities and places of interest, and even a large jigsaw that folk may sit down and see if they can complete a little more of it! The wardens were extremely pleasant and helpful, and despite being busy they didn't rush me in any way, which i completely appreciated, being a 'newby'. FULL MARKS, Firs!! Thank you:)
Late stay
We arrived at this very friendly spotlessly clean site for a late autumn break. The wardens were so helpful and friendly we can't praise them enough. The site is well spaced out and well kept . We would recommend this site to couples but not families with children as there is no play area

Impeccable site
We visited for 8 nights in early September arriving on Bank Holiday Monday. The site was quite full but very tidy and the shower block was immaculate. The wardens were friendly and helpful and their attention to detail in looking after the site was incredible - to see a warden sweeping the gravel off the site roads with a yard brush is unusual to say the least. Plenty of interesting places to visit nearby and a good place from which to explore the Derbyshire countryside. Our 2 dogs appreciated the on site dog walk. The site is a credit to Les and Angie and we will definitely visit again soon.

First time in Derbyshire
Having not gone to far in my first year, travelling up country into the places with hills, the area is well signposted and the people we met are all friendly, we did eat in the local pub for Sunday Lunch and excellent value , with a steak night not to be missed, well worth another trip north next year. Great site , well run

Brilliant site
As with the previous reviewer we stayed for 9 nights in early September. The site is immaculate and we wholeheartedly agree that the wardens and then the relief wards could not have been more friendly or helpful to the extent of pointing out the deer laying in the adjoining farmers fields. Overall a lovely site, well worth a visit. Easy access to the Peak District and surrounding attractions.
Excellent site
9 night stay at the Firs near Belper in early September - felt like a fortnight. Lovely site and well kept, good view of the dales. Fantastic wardens and relief wardens were all very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them.
Yes we agree there is no childs play area which some people could see as a negative, we found during our stay there were more couples than families.
Plenty of tourist attractions nearby.
Excellent wifi
We will visit again.
Four nights at The Firs
The wardens were very friendly and helpful and the site was well run. A quiet and relaxing site with good size pitches. Excellent WiFi reception even though we were on a pitch almost the furthest from the office. Good views from the campsite. Plenty to do in the area. We didn't visit the local pub but we will when we visit next time.
5* Place
Wonderful, extremely clean and very well looked after. Very kind wardens, always there for you if you need them. Definitely recomend it to anyone. Will shall be back if there is availability. Downside is that there is no mid - week low prices.
Bank Holiday
We have stayed at this site twice now both times have been good although the weather could have been better on our last trip over bank holiday. The site is a little tight on the entrance if you are leaving and someone just arriving but all in all a good trip. The facilities were spotless and plenty of hot water and the wardens very helpful. The site was full over the bank holiday and there were some children on site but have to say there is not much for them to do on site, but Matlock and Crich are not far away. The fully service pitches are great we stayed on one last time but were not able to over bank holiday as they were all booked up so book early we will be visiting again.

A great holiday
Just completed a ten day stay at The Firs and what a great little site this is.
Whilst being relatively compact the site is quiet with some fantastic views and the 'luxury' of having fully serviced pitches available. The wardens were excellent, keeping the site and facilities spotless and always having a friendly smile. Ideally situated for so many of Derbyshire's tourist treasures and close to Belper for all your shopping requirements. The only slight downside, not for us as we are a couple, was the fact that there are no facilities for children on this site and few pitches where they had a bit of real space and this was the only reason that I didn't score the overall rating 5*. Otherwise we recommend this site. A note for all Caravan Club sites: fully serviced pitches are great!
