Holiday heaven

We had a fully serviced pitch and all the pitches are neat and tidy and well-spaced. The wardens are very friendly and helpful and there is a well-stocked information room as well as a dog walk. The site was a haven of peace and tranquility (and it was half-term week!) and is well-sited for walking as well as Derby city centre and other attractions. Full marks to the CC team at the Firs!

A Peaceful Weeked

We have just return from the Firs, a lovely peaceful site, very clean, the two wardens where very friendly & helpful, we had to book onto a super pitch as this was the only type available, but this did make the weekend easier, we look forward the booking on again.

Recent stay

Stayed for six nights. Helpful friendly wardens. Ideal site for the areas we wanted to explore. Only downside was the road noise next to the site(pitches 1,2,3,4) and a very small dog walk bearing in mind that the only alternative was walking down the road we would have liked this to be a bit more extensive.

The Firs

This is a site we will happily return to. For motorhome people we would recommend taking a car - the area is great, but places to visit are - apart from Belper, (country lanes with no verges or pavement until you reach the town) not walking distance.

A lovely stay

First time owning and towing a caravan, we picked up the caravan locally and headed to this site to get used to it before we left for a longer holiday. We loved the Site, it was spotlessly clean, it was quiet, peaceful and is in a lovely location. The couple who run the Site were really friendly and helpful. They gave us newbies lots of welcome information and tips for our onward journey. We will definitely go back to this site.

5th Visit

Arrived for our 5th visit, have allways found this a very peaceful park. We were told to enable the grass to grow that most off the white marker pitches had been blocked off and unless we paid for a service pitch only 3 pitches were available, we have always pitched on the lower level so didnt consider this a problem! However the 3 pitches available were at the entrance, right at the back of the road which turned out to be constant traffic ALL thro the day and night got no sleep at all. There are far too many service pitches now on this park and for a weekend trip not everone wants one which means at least half of the available pitches were empty. Dissapointed with this trip but will prob be back next year as we do like the area

Excellent site

First stay at this site, but hope to return. Everything just as it should be, and the site managers were very friendly and helpful.

A little Gem

We visited this site for the first time as we would use the Chatsworth site if we was in Derbyshire what have we been missing. The wardens keep this site in a lovely condition they are a lovely hard working couple, there is a lot to do in the area ie Crich Tram museum, Matlock is worth a visit and George's chip shop in Belper is a must to visit. We wish we could stay longer and will be definatly be back next year.

Pleasant midweek break.

This site is in an excellent position for sightseeing and generally a good stopping point if going North --South.Be sure to visit The Fishermans Rest at Broadholme DE56 2JF Very friendly hosts and excellent Beer .
