Have stayed here a few times now since more serviced pitches were added. Great site with loads to see and do locally. This time we ran out of gas and as our heater is not working on electric (pains of a new van and everything seeming to go wrong) and had to switch to gas. As a cold night we went to replace but the wardens did not have our bottle as they were waiting for a delivery. As we had had a drink or two, maybe three, we could not drive to garage for a replacement. The wardens kindly offered us their spare bottle to keep up going until morning. They were so kind and we only used it for some hot water in the morning. Great site with great wardens, thank you. Promise we will bring the spare bottle next time.
Great Site
We spent a lovely bank holiday at this site, the first thing that strikes you about the site is some of the fantastic views you get. The couple running the site were very welcoming and always had a wave and a hello for everyone. The facilities and the site was kept immaculate. It might be worth mentioning that we fancied a Chinese takeaway Saturday night, but didn't really fancy the drive into Belper.... the wife phoned a place called "new ming court" and they delivered to the site entrance and the driver called us when he got there (it was fantastic). TV signal was excellent and you also have the tv point on the bollard if you wish, we stayed on a serviced pitch, which was a good size and very level. The only slightly negative thing about the site we would say was the dog walk, wasn't really much to it and it looked like it could have been better of one of the paths hadn't been blocked off? But it gave us the opportunity to walk more around the actual site and meet some of the friendly people that were staying there that weekend. All in all a great little site and we will definitely be back again.
A gem in the Peak District
-Approch to the site rather challenging as you have to drive thro Belper and back again.
- site emmaculate in every way and has great views over the hills.
-The warden and his wife were very friendly and helpful.
-The toilet block, super pitch for the caravan are of high quality.
- tv reception was very good.
The surrounded area is full of history and shops.
WE WILL BE BACK.
Brilliant Find
Lovely site, peaceful and hidden away. Great views over the Amber Valley @ the River Derwent.
Site and facilities were beautifully kept and spotless, a credit to the wardens
Really excellent place for visits to the surrounding area. Belper, Matlock, Matlock Bath, Crich & Carsington Water all worth a visit. Derby not far for a bit of shopping, the Cathedral quarter is full of eateries and the shopping centre has a big indoor market.
We spent a week in April, and were spoiled by the weather, having a barbie on six of the seven nights.
Will be going back.
Missed one tick on the good for families as there is no playground on site, but with all those hills, places to go & fresh air there isn't much energy left to be spent on site

Excellent
Well what can we say, the best we have been to. The site, the wardens just everything about the place, can't wait to get back there.
The Firs Caravan & Club site,
This a jewel in the crown of the Caravan Club site, The wardens were very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasurable, and nothing was any trouble for them to sort out right away.
The site is maintained to the utmost highest level, is a credit to them, and The Caravan Club. We will be back again
P.S.
Don't show this review to anyone else for fear of not having any pitches left when we book up again
long weekend
Just spent a long weekend here (3 nights ) at this little gem of a site. Couldn't fault the overall cleanliness of the whole place. The toilet blocks are as clean, tidy and good as any we have used and the friendly wardens seem to take a pride in keeping the whole place spic and span. The site itself is very easy to find if you use the C.Clubs directions and it has good access. Very handy position too for discovering this part of the Peaks---suited us two "old uns" a treat-- we will be back.

Firs, Belper
The wardens at this site are possibly the most helpful and friendly we've met. The site is beautifully kept and well situated for visiting the local Derbyshire attractions. The Fishermans Rest pub just down the road is great too! We highly recommend this site.
