The First Club Site is a real gem

This is the best Club site I have ever visited ! The wardens are super helpful and very friendly. The cleanliness of the toilet block and the tidiness of the site in general is an example of how all sites should be maintained. Mainly suited to couples as opposed to families, the site is very quiet and peaceful. We shall definitely return here as the location is only an hour's drive from home- great for a short break

Brill

Stay at this site regular as it's only 40 mins from home, and as always a great visit . The wardens are very friendly / welcoming and keeps everywhere spotless. The only downside was on this visit we were on a pitch near the road which proved very noisy , however didn't keep us awake. Nothing for the kids on site though. Well done to the wardens ,will continue to visit .

A mixed review

The quality of the site itself and the reception could not be faulted. I felt it's position for cycling was limited by it's position on top of a very steep hill and local walks were in short supply. This is probably why the information centre did not feature walks from the site or cycle routes. A particular mention should be made of the warden who was helpful, pleasant and always cheerful.

Smashing :)

Wonderful views from the site and my pitch. Facilities excellent and clean at all times. Information room the best yet. Spacious pitches. Wardens so very helpful and friendly. Lovely dog walking area. There were so many different types of bird song, including an Owl that hooted during the day! Good location for visiting places of interest. Will definitely visit again. I had a relaxing enjoyable holiday.

The most friendliness site I've stayed at so far.

I book this site as i was attending the NEC for a show on the Sunday. The location was halfway between home and the NEC. It's not far from the M1 and Matlock is just down the road for a day out with my children. Most of the pitches have good views especially if you book a serviced pitch. The wardens are fantastic and extremely helpful - overall a nice club site and very quiet.

Probably The Best

We stayed here some time ago and again recently. It's probably the best site on the network. The wardens are very helpful and make you feel welcome. The on site facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained. When you want good accommodation, lots of hot water and a comfortable stay you cannot go wrong on this site. All pitches are reasonably level, well spaced out and looked after.

Gem of a site

We stayed for the last 4 days of the season and were impressed with how tidy and clean the site was. Washing and shower facilities 1st class. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. We will be returning for a longer stay at the start of 2017 season.

Great site

A lovely site with very helpful wardens. We stayed on pitch 67 which is on the lower level and has great views across the valley as the trees had lost most of their leaves. Toilet block immaculate with top class showers. The site is close to Belper which has lots of nice shops and a fabulous little cinema. Not far from Matlock Bath and Bakewell. Enjoyed our stay and will return.
