We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Firs. The wardens are a very lovely couple dedicated to the site, keeping it clean and tidy and being around for people staying there. They are very friendly and helpful. The site is quiet and there is plenty of space. The wardens keep the site and the facilities immaculate. It is the best site we have stayed on and the wardens make it that extra special. There is nothing bad to say about staying here. There is good hot running water in immaculately clean showers. The grass is cut several times a week and the bins emptied at least once a day. There is never a mess anywhere. We were lucky to have a perfect view from our site and found the serviced pitch adequate for filling water and emptying grey waste. There is nothing bad to say about this site. It was our first visit there and while there we have booked our next holiday to stay there again. There is no play park so not much for children to do onsite, consequently there were not many children on site even at the weekends. For us, as a couple, this was great. We would totally recommend this site as the best we have every stayed on. Thank you for a job well done!

One of the Best on the Network
Stephanie and I loved everything about this site.
The wardens and assistant wardens: we arrived on a hand-over day. What a superb team, utterly friendly, helpful and welcoming, and how reassuring to meet four wardens that synchronise so well.
The facilities: it takes much to impress Stephanie, but her verdict was that these are unsurpassed by any other C&MHC site. Although ten years old, they looked new.
The site layout: this is in two sections, the smaller, lower section being perched on the hillside just a short distance below the main pitches. From pitch 42 we had an amazing view into the Derwent Valley, but all pitches provide good space and are quiet. Bring levelling blocks as these may be needed for some small slopes.
Site atmosphere: this will appeal to visitors of all ages, but especially walkers. Do bear in mind that the Peaks are exactly as they sound, and that hills will be an integral part of your visit.
Wifi: fast and efforless - a 'gold site'.
Highly recommended.
Brilliant peaceful site
Totally agree with other reviews that this is a lovely peaceful, scrupulously clean, site with very friendly and helpful wardens/deputy wardens. Surprisingly flat pitches when you consider the steep hills in every direction! TV and wifi good. Toilet block more than adequate even when site was full, didn't have to queue once, and good to have other toilets available during cleaning.
Great location with so much history to explore locally. Used several of the 241 vouchers from the Club brochure.
Shame about the views
Nice clean site in the middle of fabulous scenery and just a couple of miles out of Belper which has a Morrisons, Aldi and B&M
My only comments are:-
One of the site photographs shows a caravan looking out over the wonderful scenery but this is one of about just three pitches which have any view at all other than the site trees and bushes
The water supply to the serviced pitches is not one to a pitch, most have a single supply point (with two taps) shared between two pitches so many pitches need a very long hose connection.
Some of the pitches on the lower level would be very difficult to get a caravan onto, if not impossible, without a motor mover.
Green and pleasant stay
Stayed for 5 nights in the lower section of the site with lovely country views and sheltered by the mature trees (but be warned they do interfere with satellite tv reception). An immaculately clean site with welcoming wardens who are doing a great job. We arrived at a busy time and several outfits arriving at once made the arrival area feel very tight but the wardens helped us out. The lower grass pitches were quieter and more spacious than the higher ones, which suited us. Not much for children to do on site, as others have said, so we did have a few kids using the 'road' round the lower section as a scooter track. This was not a problem, just a contrast to the first half of our stay which had been really peaceful. Would not hesitate to stay here again

A must visit
Visited here many times over the years. In an excellent location. Service pitches are very good albeit caravan club designers do not seem to realise waste water does not flow up hill. You will need depending on the pitch extensions pipe both for water and waste.
The cleanliness of this site is the best we have encountered over all our years of visiting caravan club sites. For my wife to give it 5 stars is no mean achievement. Places you would not expect to be spotless are. A lot of wardens could learn a lot from this site. No locked toilet shower doors or toilets to save on cleaning. All open and all spotless.
You will not be disappointed visiting this site.

Wonderful Site
We stayed here over the recent bank holiday - its a lovely site very well maintained by the wardens who are very friendly and helpful. If I could I would give 6 stars for Facilities and cleanliness !!
Can be a bit windy in some areas - worth walking around the site to check before you pitch - some of the pitches on the lower area have staggering views.
Not brilliant for children
