Spent a couple of nights at the site although we only live in Durham. It was our first trip with a caravan. (previously camped) & the first Caravan Club site we have visited. Site wardens couldn't have been more helpful. Site well laid out with good access to pitches & although next to road didn't notice the odd car that went past. Facilities were spotless & easy to get to from anywhere on the site. Barnard Castle is a great place to explore and some lovely walks down by the river and if you head up the dale you'll find some beautiful villages, Lartington, Romaldkirk & if you keep going Middleton in Teesdale. Great place for a quiet break. Bob & Annie

Our 4th visit in recent years and once again we were not disappointed. Wardens work very hard to maintain site and facilities to a high standard, they are always friendly, welcoming and helpful. Spacious, powerful showers. Excellent walks close by of varying levels of difficulty, dog walk now opened up on the large field which is an improvement. Bowes museum is worth visiting can use club vouchers for reduced admission. Barnard Castle is within walking distance and has good independent shops, Morrisons and delicious fish and chips at 149. Chip van and pizza baker also visits site they are very good and convenient after a day out. Look forward to returning to this site and area. Was very windy though while we were there.
