Fantastic site with great dog walking area, town centre within 10 mins walk with good shops and dog friendly pubs, good location next to river highly recommend
Location Location Location
We stayed at this site for a long weekend in mid August
We did not expect to spend much time on site but rather we wanted to be on the edge af the Yorkshire Dales and hoped to visit both High and Low Force
The site was ideally located for our requirements
Barnard Castle is within walking distance and what a pleasant surprise. Have never visited before but will return to this lovely little town
Walked along the river Tees to Cotherstone. Another unexpected find and a beautiful walk
Didn't have time to go round the castle
Didn't have time to visit the falls either
So much to do locally
The site had a small shop with basic provisions
The site was immaculate. Plenty of room and the best toilet/shower block that we have come across
Will definitely return
Excellent
This was our first time at this site and won't be our last. The facilities were spotless, the dog walk was a huge meadow, the children were well catered for with a nice park . All the pitches were open and spacious. It is walking distance into the town. Very friendly and helpful wardens.
Lovely site
The site had everything to make a holiday comfortable. It was just close enough to town so walking there was easy. A nice open site with good views and plenty of light when the sun was shining and plenty of room to manoeuvre. The toilet block was really good and spotlessly clean we would use this site again, there's plenty to do locally.
Love this place
We have been here quite a few times now lovely site very clean. Ideal for the north pennines a beautiful place

Hidden Gem
We got a last minute booking at this site for the last August Bank Holiday and we were very impressed.
The wardens were as usual very polite and helpful and gave us a list of available pitches.
The pitches are all hard standing and of a very good size as well.
Being a relatively newish site the facilities were all immaculate and the showers are the best that we have used, they also had a drying room which is a nice touch.
We took our mountain bikes with us on this trip as the site is perfectly situated for trips to Hamsterley Forest which has some of the best mountain bike trails in the UK and also features downhill tracks for the more, shall we say foolhardy!
The only negative point i can make is that it was expensive compared to other Caravan Club sites that we have used, but overall great site and location and we will be back

Definitely repeat visits
This was our first visit and we were so impressed with the site. The warden give 5star service and the facilities are first class 10 out 10 for cleanliness can't wait for a return visit.
Well Worth a Visit
We have just spent 8 nights at this site, 2 adults and 3 children aged from 3 - 11, the facilities are excellent and the site is well maintained. The children were quite happy playing in the playground with other children, the youngest under supervision at all times. Access to the site is easy and it is a short walk/drive to visit Barnard Castle, unfortunately we were disappointed with the market, we expected more stalls. The site's location is ideal for exploring the Teesdale and Swaledale areas, both areas offering opportunities for walking and sight seeing.

Lovely site
Stayed here for four nights. Best facilities we have ever had. Wardens pleasant and welcoming. Wonderful location. Barnard castle delightful. Richmond well worth a visit. Fish and chips from van the best we have had anywhere. Road a bit noisy but we soon got used to it and it didn't bother us. Would definitely use the site again if staying in the area.

Warden could not be more helpful
When we arrived we were a little disappointed to find the pitches were all hard standing, as we prefer grass pitches. Then we thought the electric hookup wasn't working, as we didn't have any lighting in our van. So far, not very promising! But it turned out the battery charger in our van had conked out but we still had mains power. The diagnosis was made by the Warden, who was extremely helpful and offered every assistance. We bought some plug-in lights and still managed to enjoy our weekend, even despite torrential rain and a thunderstorm! We'll be back.....
