This was our seventh visit to St Agnes Beacon, and we fall more in love with it every time. The sea views from this site, and the easy access to miles of coastal path right on your doorstep, make the tight squeeze up the narrow Cornish access lanes well worth it.
We love that there is no toilet block, as it makes for a more peaceful site. But there is still plenty to keep our 4 year old occupied, and beautiful beaches and caves to explore within a 15 minute walk of the site. It's always hard to leave this beautiful place!
Make sure you have blocks with you though, as all pitches are grass, and many are uneven. Some pitches may be tricky for the less experienced at towing, but there are plenty with lots of space too.
Deryk and Sue Fletcher have been the wardens here for 5 years, and have always made our stay that little bit more special with their warmth and friendliness. We'll miss them greatly next year.
Great Site, let down by access and attitude
great views, but access into this site is not good. We just got through the Caravan, between trees, touching both sides of the van! Meeting other drivers coming in from the opposite direction will make life very difficult.
We arrived after an awful M5 drive, several hours late, to be patronised by the Warden with me being a few inches off the white peg, telling me how to back my van up. Does not help at all. Im sure he was trying to help, but he wasnt. Pitty, nice site just let down by couple of things here!
Back to basics
What a lovely position for a site close to the coastal path. I loved the fact there were no shower/utility blocks. There were more than enough waste disposal and fresh water sites all very clean. Its great to be self contained.
I agree with a previous comment about timed access surely it would be so easy to have a sign saying " No Caravan Access Until after 1200" at the St Agnes mini- roundabout. I'm sure the locals would appreciate it.
Gripes-
"Come on Caravan Club" The expectation is that all owners know what they are doing. I was sited very close to pitch 48. At pitch 48 there is a wall and tight corner. If you are towing a medium sized rig it requires very careful negotiation most arrivals are quite tired after a long drive. On a daily basis at least two caravans would scrape themselves and in one case the rig received a puncture - more warning signs or widen the bend please.
Wardens - a sensitive subject - 99% are brilliant but they are there to make one feel welcome maybe I arrived on a bad day. in all fairness things did improve.
When all is said and done would I go back? Most definitely yes

Excellent site
All round best Club site we have stayed at so far. well located for NT trails. very helpful wardens. beautiful scenery. will return again,
Stunning views, most relaxed site ever!
Spent 6 nights here in July, it has to the most laid back and relaxed C.C site we have been to.Beautiful views, lovely walks, good dog walk, great wardens and lots of friendly campers - what more could you wish for.
Beautiful site
Stayed here for 6 nights. We had a sea view but our pitch required lots of wood blocks to get the caravan level so make sure you take enough! Beautiful walks on the doorstep. Only problem we had was on our departure day we left at 9.40am and met another caravan arriving on the narrow lane, this caused a 20 minute delay. We were surprised as we thought that caravans should arrive after 12 noon but maybe the other camp site allow them to arrive early. Maybe something the two campsites should agree to insist on after 12 arrivals to stop this from happening.
Good Location
Positives
Superb Location on outskirts of the lovely St Agnes with its lovely shops and eateries, and proximity to the SW coastal path and beaches.
Negatives
The site could be first class, but the pitches need thinning out - too many pitches have caravans looking directly in the back of others, we were fortunate to have a pitch backing up to shrubbery, but others had their pleasant views destroyed by caravans directly in front of them. The sites never booked full so space the pegs out and stagger them and it will be perfect

Our Favourite
Just returned from another amazing visit to this site. After setting up on our arrival we wandered over to the tin mine...to make sure it was still there.... and luckily we had our binoculars in hand because we spotted a pod of dolphin's in the sea. Wow!!!! We new this was going to be a good week. This is a beautiful unspoilt part of Cornwall. Don't tell anyone but the coast guard hut is where Winston Graham drafted his Poldark novels while on duty during the WW11. Our glorious week ended with a magical mist show....the mist rolls in off of the sea here quite atmospherically, and as the day ended we had a fantastic sunset and the mist became orange, it didn't engulf us but floated all around......amazing. Many thanks to Sue and Deryck, always a pleasure to see you, and we wish you well for the future.
We love this place
We have been going to this site for seven years and it never fails to be amazing. Stunning views, fantastically well maintained while retaining all it's natural charm. Superb location. Deryck and Sue have been great wardens for the past five years, nothing ever to much trouble always nice to see them. We will miss them as they move to pastures new.
