Lovely site

We stayed here in our motorhome last week. Our stay was excellent. The staff are very helpful and the facilities are spotlessly clean. Showers are a good size and lovely and warm. The site itself is in a great location with plenty of walks and cycle paths everywhere. We have a bike trailer for our dogs and the cycle paths were suitable for taking them out. There is a large park nearby and the town and fairground are only a short walk away. The whole area is lovely and clean. The only downside is that there aren't many fully serviced pitches but I would definitely recommend this site to anyone.

what a lovely place to stay

we stayed here in Jan 2022, this site we found to be clean, quiet and relaxing, very close to the beach and not too far to wander into town, the staff were friendly and helpful on our stay, we will visit again soon.

MORE THAN JUST WARDENS

Our recent stay at Southport CMHC made me realise that our Wardens are more than simply people who administer our arrivals, and ensure that the facilities are kept in top class condition. We recently had a major issue with our E&P system on arrival on site, when the hydraulic unit failed with one of the central rams in contact with the floor, making it impossible to drive off to get it repaired, or in a position where we could make the caravan secure underfoot. Our Senior Wardens, Tracey and Mark, were absolutely superb, much better than our initial contact with people at E&P. Mark helped us secure the stability of the caravan by making us some wooden blocks to fit under the rear legs, while Tracey organised additional nights for us to stay while E&P got a Technician out to site (some days later) to secure and repair our system. It's when things don't go to plan that you appreciate the other side of being a Site Warden, and I would like to thank Tracey and Mark for their incredible support and understanding during our desperate time of need. The site itself was beautiful, peaceful and really well maintained. We will definitely be visiting this location again in the future.

Great site

We came here in April 2022 during the school holidays (we have 2 small children). There is a playground just outside of the site and the centre of southport is a 10 min bicycle ride away. We also got the train to Liverpool and Formby which was very cheap and quick. The site is clean, friendly and quiet.

Another enjoyable stay at our favourite site

As always, everything was spick and span. Checking in is easy and speedy, a well oiled operation from the friendly helpful onsite team. And the location is perfect for us - a short walk (if you are reasonably mobile that it is!) to everything, shops, supermarket, pier, seafront etc. Also, Southport is a cycling friendly town, with lots of off-road routes. Plenty of places to eat and drink, to suit all preferences, from good old Wetherspoons to more salubrious locations. And The Atkinson is always worth a visit to see the current art exhibitions, shows and 'A Great Little Place', the onsite cafe, which serves great coffee but also supports people back into work with good training and work experience.

Well maintained and welcoming

Just returned from another visit to the Southport site which is always very well maintained by the wardens. It’s in an excellent location for trips to the beach or sand dunes whilst leaving your car on site. It’s a flat site with very clean facilities and although the site was full over Easter it didn’t feel overcrowded and it was lovely to see children playing out and enjoying the fine weather. This site is quite local for us but is one which we like to return to.

This is a lovely site flat pitches, clean and tidy. The site is ideally placed for wondering around Southport or Birkdale. Always a site we return to.

Another nice weekend in southport,,, But some site issue

second time we have stayed here as we love southport and bought our camper last year so we can have a few weekends here, as with all the sites on the club we have stayed at, great facilities and very very clean, this easter weekend was very busy and plenty of vans and caravans queing to check in, we were all fast tracked through and on site by 12.10, so great work by the team. we have stayed on the club sites a few times last year and had no issues at all, however this stay was tainted by a family right opposite us, they were an embarrasment, often shouting and swearing very loud so we could hear every word, including the awful c word directed at their children, camping in an enclosed enviroment can be stressful for families i guess but this just wasnt what you expect on club sites of this calibur. hopefully our next visit will be a tad more peaceful and quieter.

A wonderful stay but........

In the week before we arrived we read through site reviews and contacted the site office to clarify a few points raised including but not limited to wind breaks.

On arrival we selected our pitch and began setting up. I put up the Awning and the windbreaks on the grass. Around half an hour later I was outside the van tinkering with my bike when I was approached by that Scottish Warden. He could not have been anymore aggressive, rude or ignorant had he tried. He demanded that our windbreak was taken down even though we had clarified the week before we could have it up. He also demanded I shorten my guy ropes on the Awning to at least 2 metres from the edge of the grass. When I asked why this was necessary he barked at me "Because that grass belongs to me!!!!" He then proceeded to mark out 2 metres by 'Goose stepping' twice.

At this my partner came out of the caravan and started remonstrating with him. He couldn't have cared any less. 2 minutes later he was back and kicked off about our dog being off the lead even though he had just come out of the Awning to see me. He is an 11 year old Golden Retriever, hardly an attack dog. "Get that dog on a lead!!!"

My partner went to the office and reported this appalling behaviour. An official complaint has gone into the Caravan and Motorhome Club and we will wait and see what happens. As several reviews have already mentioned the appaling behaviour of this Warden I hope my complaint is investigated thoroughly.

All this happened within 2 hours of arriving. We were on the verge of packing up and coming home but we were not going to let this moron ruin our stay.

A couple of days in Liverpool, The Albert Dock, The Cavern Club and St Patrick's Day. A bike ride to Formby and some lovely walks. We are so glad we stayed, all the staff except 1 were fantastic, especially Mark and Tracey, and couldn't do enough for us. We have fallen for this site and booked 2 more stays for this year. Can't wait to get back in May.
