Excellent site

Silverbank is a brilliant site, run by two of the loveliest wardens we have ever met. MARK AND SAM YOU ARE TERRIFIC. The facilities are clean and regularly attended to. It's a joy to go to this site, we return regularly to this site and I always keep my fingers crossed that the wardens are Mark and Sam. Love you guys. Xxxx

Wonderful Site

Sam and Mark work so hard to keep this site immaculate. Mark was waiting as we arrived and told us to find a pitch then return to Reception for Sam to do the formalities. Sam was efficient in checking us in and in providing the ice creams!!! The pitch was a very good size and had even been weeded!!!! The Disabled Facilities were clean and tidy and unlike some sites had a shower curtain to help keep the room dry. The washing machine and dryer was explained by Sam and was easy to use. Sam helped with advice on local attractions and places to eat. Crathes Castle is worth a visit but be prepared when visiting the Castle itself to be able to use the stone spiral staircases to access all the other levels, these are uneven and narrow in both tread and depth. The Walled Garden is worth visiting and has seats to stop and admire. Ballater is not very far and should be visited. Scot Skinners is a local pub which serves food but it is advisable to book in advance, would definitely recommend. This site is one of the better club sites we stayed at and Sam and Mark should be commended in keeping the site in very good and tidy condition.

Fabulous site

Banchory is one of our favourite sites. It is a beautiful and very, very well maintained site. We can’t comment on the facilities because we didn’t use them but we spoke to people on the site who did and they said they were spotless which is in keeping with the rest of the site. Mark and Samantha are hard working wardens, they are professional, helpful and friendly. It is obvious that they take great pride in their work and site. The 1pm check in is not great if you are only able to go for one night due to work commitments but this is not the wardens fault, they have a job to do and are only following the rules.

A previous reviewer has mentioned fully serviced pitches and that would be a fantastic addition to this site.

Perfect - Peace and Quiet and Well Managed

This is a lovely wee site under the efficient management of Mark & Samantha. Well situated for Banchory town centre and with a Tesco virtually across the road. If only all sites were like this, but maybe I was lucky - hardly any dogs and hardly any noisy children!! PS Try The Cowshed for great Fish & Chips - just past Raemoir Garden Cenre!

Great site fantastic staff

I must admit we have always said that the staff make a site great and there is no exception here as Mark and Samantha are fantastic. They were really friendly and helpful from the start of our holiday. The site is spotless due to their hard work and you see how hard they work to maintain it. Always smiling and around to help and even giving away a spare brake cable to help a new caravaner get on his journey. Keep up the great work and yet another great set of wardens that inspire us to be wardens.

Great Site & well maintained

This is a great site - hard to believe that only 2 wardens work here as the place is immaculate & clean. Wardens were very visible and very helpful. The location is great for Deeside and Aberdeen plus historical buildings and Trust properties. Some road noise (it is on the A93) but not too intrusive. I would return but only as part of another Scottish tour as it is too far from my home base for short-ish trips

Our Favourite Site

Having recently enjoyed a 10 night stay at Silverbank, our second visit this year, we can't wait to return. The site is immaculate and Mark and Sam must be applauded for their excellent work. Regarding an earlier review, which differs somewhat to mine (!), before our first visit I received a courteous phone call informing me that arrival time was now 1.00pm, which I had already read about in the pre-arrival e-mail. Surely, as C&MC members, it is up to us to read these messages and abide by Club rules. Over the past few years this site has been blessed with excellent Wardens and, in my opinion, this continues to be the case. Now, how about providing some fully serviced pitches?!

Superbly maintained site.

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights in May, our first visit. We were impressed by the friendly and efficient wardens who worked tirelessly maintaining the site to an excellent standard. With regard the last reviewer’s comment, we received a friendly reminder by phone two days before arrival regarding the ‘new’ arrival time of 13:00 and received a very friendly and efficient welcome on arrival. We were fast tracked onto the site with check in effected later after pitching. The site is accessed directly from the main road with very little room to accommodate a queue and this fast track approach worked excellently. The ‘new’ arrival time is now universal and I suggest all members get used to it. First class site beautifully maintained by very friendly and efficient wardens. Any number of attractions in and around Royal Deeside catering for all tastes. Will certainly visit again when touring in this part of Scotland.

Disappointing and noisy

We were greeted by a stern waving on as we arrived 10mins early. Be warned that it says 12 in the book and the actual time to arrive is 1 pm. The first set of wardens were unpleasant but the second set far better. There is a washing machine that cost £4 a cycle, but doesn’t have facilities to spin or add fabric conditioner. The tumble dryer at £1 per 15 minutes. There is no iron or board. There is a useful information kiosk with also second hand book swap near the site entrance. There is a fair amount of noise from the busy main road (A93) running directly at the side of the site, and it continues throughout the night. It’s worse when there are fewer caravans/ motor homes on site. There was also some noise from the sawmill adjacent, inconsiderate guests and the first warden on his loud vehicle at 09.04 on a Saturday morning onwards. There is a pleasant walk into Banchory village left out of the site and turn left immediately after it. It drops down to the river and you can go along as far as the hotel and onwards into the village, around 1.6 miles. Crathes Castle is a National Trust property about a mile away and with a visit. The pitches are a reasonable size but it would be preferable to face the woods and river, if only club rules allowed, in order to enjoy the lovely views. The site is well maintained and the toilet blocks spotless. The mobile signal was limited using EE and Vodaphone. Not a site for us. Give us a nice quiet CL any day.

Lovely welcoming site

First time at this site and booked to stay 2 nights. Made to feel very welcome on arrival by Mark and Sam. Lovely well maintained site ideally positioned for walks into Banchory along the North Deeside Trail or Crathes Castle in the opposite direction. Bus stop directly outside the gates if you fancy a trip into Aberdeen and Tesco is just a 5 minute walk away. Highly recommended site.
