Never disappointed

We had an excellent time at Silverbank over this years Easter weekend..Site wardens are very helpful and as one review said were always around at most times...We have stayed on this site a few times and found fellow caravanners and motorhomers very friendly.

Weekend Break

We stay at this local site for a number of weekends in a year, and it has such a nice relaxing atmosphere. The site can be fully booked but the facilities are still suitable for all and kept to a very high standard by a couple of very hard working Wardens. Roll on our next visit.

River Dee setting

Nice site in great location. Site well maintained Wardens very friendly and regularly seen around the site, makes a nice change. Toilets are well maintained although slightly small but just have to time your visit or could have a small queue. Banchory itself has something for all ages. Lovely area will certainly be back.

Rules only seem to apply to some!

In general a nice site. A standard caravan club site. Felt a little annoyed at being told off for pulling away to quickly after checking in. Then witnessed 8/10 vehicles clearly over the 5mph limit, cyclists doing laps over the 5mph limit and cyclists going the wrong way in the one way system. The wardens obviously didn't reprimand these people, as this continued all weekend. Quite a lot of barking dogs, which owners seem to think is acceptable. There is a dedicated dog area which is good. The site could do with a 2nd toilet / shower block. There are not many toilets and showers for the amount of pitches. The road can be noisy at times but really not bad. Quite a cliquey site and not many people speak. Not particularly friendly. Good tv signal and good phone and internet on three mobile.

Lovely site great location

First trip of the year, didn't want to go far, we live in Aberdeen. There is some road noise but we found that you got accustomed to it and it did not bother us. Christian and Anthony keep the site up to a very good standard, daily papers can be ordered and fresh eggs are on sale. The site is only five minutes from the new Tesco and in the other direction 15 minutes to Morrisons, both have petrol stations. There is a very good walking/cycle track into Banchory. If you go the other direction you can end up in Aberdeen. The path into Banchory runs along the river Dee, you might be lucky and see one of the fishermen catch a salmon. Walking into Banchory via the main road footpath just before Morrisons there is a pub/restaurant, Scott Skinners, a fine range of beers and I was told the food is good also. In Banchory we used the Douglas Arms for lunch. This place has just had a major refurb and we found it warm and welcoming. The food was good, more gastro pub than pub food. Ravenswood, the British Legion club, is also worth a mention. Sunday lunch was good and did not break the bank. You can Google all three of these places I have mentioned. Because of the size of the site there is no children's play area but there is an area for dogs :-) All in all a very good site and will be back before long, with the bikes. P.S. To the dog owners who left their dogs pile on one of the empty pitches, Christian picked it up for you.

We will be back.

We really enjoyed our visit. The site is well laid out and both the site itself and the facilities were spotless. The wardens were very friendly and efficient with a good knowledge of the local area and its amenities. Definitely a site we will revisit.

Great site

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this site.  From the moment we turned up we couldn't have been better looked after.  The staff were friendly, helpful and very approachable.   The site itself is quiet apart from a little road noise from the A93, but it really wasn't a problem.  On the other hand being next to the main road makes the site easy to find and access.  Plenty of space on the pitches, the facilities were kept very clean and it had a motorhome service point that worked for us (not always the case). It is an easy cycle into Banchory along the cycle path or about a 25 minute walk along the main road.  There are a good selection of shops in Banchory and a decent Tesco is only about 5 minutes walk from the site. Good walking and cycling opportunities from the site.  A visit to Crathes Castle and its gardens is a must (you can walk or cycle there from the campsite if you wish and feel energetic).  The Milton Brasserie at Milton of Crathes (the other side of the A93 from Crathes Castle) is highly recommended for eating and there are some pleasant craft shops there as well. I am sure we will be returning.

Excellent facilities

Stayed here many times always smart and tidy with good facilities and an excellent location. Aberdeen close and Banchory is a lovely town. Good size supermarket nearby and plenty of good eating places and tourist ameneties within easy drive.
