An excellent, well kept site handily placed for the Coast & North Yorkshire Moors
This is our first time on the site and we were very impressed by the space and peace and quiet. Our hardstanding pitch was spacious and well situated. There were some good looking grass pitches but we had lots of rain and outfits were starting to cut up and muddy the grass.
The playing fields for children and their clubhouse (although shut because of Covid) makes this a site we would love to bring our grandchildren
It was a short stroll into the village to go to the pub or the large, well-stocked Spar.
The site was well-placed to drive up or down the coast or adventure into the quiet Forge Valley and other areas. We made a quick visit to Ravenscar but were almost blown off the cliffs and got a soaking. Bring your wet weather gear with you.
The site had a really good ambience and atmosphere and was very friendly. The staff worked their socks off and were very helpful & cheerful.
My only issue is that the toilets are starting to look very dated and cramped inside. The Covid arrangements made this more of a problem. They need some serious money spending on them in the immediate future as they are not up to the standard of the better private sites or even many Club sites. my wife didn't feel as strongly about the female toilets
Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would consider returning probably in the Spring time rather than in Autumn.
