Great Site

Lovely site with friendly wardens. Standards were as usual and up to the standard we expect. As a previous review said I would prefer to see more showers and less wash cubicles as from a personal perspective I don't see the point in wash cubicles but some would no doubt disagree. Pitches are well laid out and fairly level. A regular visitor did say that in bad weather he had seen a torrent of water running to the left of the bottom shower block and would avoid that side at all costs. Local pub "The Forge" was about a 15 minute walk from the entrance was clean, friendly, served good reasonably priced food and a good selection behind the bar. Bus service into Scarborough was good but be mindful that the last bus back is about 6:30 midweek and 4:35 on a Sunday so we had to get a taxi on both visits. Scarborough itself is very nice to walk around, especially the harbour area. You can see by the massive hotels that it was a really popular resort at one time. A visit to Whitby is also worthwhile. We would certainly return to this site again.

Great site

Very clean and tidy site as allows. Toilet blocks were spotless as usual. Pitches are well kept and the TV points were a bonus. The only small problem we had was not the sites fault but a yappy dog. It would start every time another dog walked by. This is a very popular site for dog owners, so the barking happened a good few times. But all in all an excellent site that we will visit yet again.

Whole week away.

On arrival we were greeted by a nice tidy site. Wardens were very happy to help and worked hard to keep the site very tidy. Showers and toilets kept very clean. I would have liked more showers than wash cubicles. I think it would get very busy, with only 3 showers in each block, at peak times. Plenty of room on our pitch, nice undulating site with a mix of hard and grass pitches. Great location. All the coast from Whitby to Bridlington to play with, not to mention York just under an hour away. Was a stretch for us from Suffolk, very worthwhile making the journey for the week we had. Would stay here again.

Happy days away with grandson

Best designed site layout we have come across; great mix of grass and hard standing; all superbly maintained by ultra friendly and clearly ultra conscientious staff; nice feeling of space across the site. Superb for children - play area contains great mix of equipment - and large grassed area for ball games. Relatively quiet when we stayed so facilities not put under stress - suspect that some patience needed with toilet/wash facilities at height of season. All in all a superb find and will definitely be going again.

Another lovely site

On arrival greeted by a very friendly team of wardens, allocated a lovely pitch close to the facilities, as this was requested prior to our arrival due to disabilities. The site was kept so clean and tidy, toilet block always very clean, in fact the wardens never seemed to stop and to keep the site looking so tranquil

Great site

This site is in a great location for either a seaside holiday or a country village break . You can not blame anyone for the weather which was terrible for most of the week ,but regardless of that the site and the facilities were kept to an extremely high standard ,thanks to the constant work of the wardens

Members need to read the rules!

This is a very nice site well situated between the coast and North Yorkshire. We visited Staithes, Whitby, Filey, Scarborough and then Nunnington Hall and even Beningborough Hall near York (dues to the terrible half term coastal weather!) Sea Life in Scarborough is also worth a visit but don't expect a full days entertainment but still nice to do. I don't quite know how the rate the site. The toilet blocks were possibly the intidiest I'd ever seen them but I feel that this was possibly due to the site being busy and children misusing the blocks in the evening. We also had trouble with balls on the park. The wardens did, rightly, clos the park after 6pm so again, I don't think they can be criticised. I feel that as caravan club members, parents have a duty to read the rules and ensure their children obey the rules. Balls near caravans and throwing padlocks away off the game's room door for example. I'm sure most of us don't want our outfits damaged and so should respect other people who have had to site their caravan near the park dues to the site being so busy! All in all I think the wardens did a great job whilst facing many challenges. Thank you.

Scenic walk into Scarborough

Friendly and accommodating staff. Clean and tidy site. Choose your pitch wisely as the Sun doesn't always get to some until late afternoon. Beautiful walk through a couple of woods, farm land and a short walk on a road into Scarborough. To catch a bus back, which is advisable, must go to the train station as majority of busses leave from that location. An ordinance survey map is essential for the walk. We don't have children but the facilities and play area Is outstanding for them. The dog walk is good and it's also the beginning of several lovely walks. The village is very quirky and has a pub that dose excellent food and allows children and dogs in.

Lovely site, spotless and well designed so that it feels really spacious

We would love to return, and it is close to our home town of York.  Lovely helpful staff and spotless site even though we use our own facilities.  Not over crowded at all, and super lay out on a one way system.

Lovely break

Our first time at this site, we could not fault it, Wardens are very helpful and friendly. Our 2 dogs loved the dog walks. We will not hesitate to return.
