Really friendly site, great facilities for kids with lovely dog walk area. Wqrdens were so helpful and brought kids an acticity pack.out on arrival... couldnt have been nicer... would highly recommend and we will definitely return if we can book a weekend before the end of the year... its really a little gem.of a place...
Exactly what we wanted !
We stayed here for two weeks from 8-21 June and it completely met our requirements.
The site is kept clean and tidy - the wardens always seemed to be out and about doing something but never failed to say hello when they passed. We drove round the site a couple of times looking for our 'perfect' pitch but in the end a 280 mile drive and a puppy that needed to get to the vets meant that with some trepidation we took a pitch right next to the children's playground ! Our fears were groundless as the playground saw very little use during our stay and there was no noise or disruption at all - despite this we noticed that the wardens inspected the equipment properly every day :) The dog walk is by far the best we have encountered on a club site although it was apparent that some owners failed to pick up after their dogs both on the dog walk and around the site :( I would suggest that anybody intending to use an awning take note of the advice to use rock pegs and also take a fair number of spares - I've occasionally bent the odd rock peg but I managed to bend SEVEN here and two of them ended up 'S' shaped :) Overall an excellent site - the only reason I docked a point for 'Good for families' is that there's not enough to keep teenagers occupied (In common with every club site we've been on). Fortunately our three 'children' are now 23 and no longer come with us ;)
Great first time
Stayed here for the weekend of June 17, 18, 19. It was our first time ever on a caravan site. We were having a test run for our newly purchased trailer tent. The wind blew and the rain lashed down, and we loved every minute of it.
The original greeting at reception was quick but very informative and proffessional but with a personal care almost like arriving at a family hotel.
We were given a choice of any free pitch either grass or hard standing. We chose grass as we have a trailer tent to give us the feel of camping whilst still being off the ground for sleeping. The gentleman, I can't remember his name, but he's the one like myself, challenged in the hair department, who constantly cut the grass, was a real help sorting our pitch area as with the trailer tent we couldn't put it with the tow out as the whole unit unfolds from the back. He was a mind of information and always seemed to be on hand, especially cutting the grass.
The dog walk area is great and very well thought out and planned, and the dog wash area is a brilliant idea.
The weather was bad over the nights but nice during the days and we sat relaxing, was the grass being cut and walking the dog.
The toilet facilities were excellent. Full pot was area, which was lovely to see everyone caring about and keeping clean. Showers and was areas excellent and very clean. Very hot water and very relaxing showering and just the faint hum of the grass being cut.
The wifi was very strong and surprisingly a good band width. We are F1 nuts and being able to access sky go was a real plus.
I've seen some reviews about the wifi on some sites but I can assure you it's a good wifi here.
Although this was a trial first time out and we only live 30 mile up the road, we will go back at some time as we were very impressed with the staff, the site and more importantly the length of the grass. I think he should be head grounds man at Wimbledon.
Many thanks to all for a great first time.
Steve & Sharon Conroy. :-)
A Lovely place to stay
We hadn't been here for a while and I'd forgotten how nice it was. A lovely welcome despite being busy the warden had time for everyone. The information centre had been given an excellent make over and was very inviting.
The washrooms are not the newest but they were kept very clean and despite the site being full there's was always a vacant space.
There is a superb play area for children, a scenic dog walk and it is not far to the park and ride into Scarborough and not far to Pickering where you can catch the steam train to Whitby.
The site is terraced and that makes it interesting and makes it feel smaller than it actually is.
All in all it is a lovely place to stay whatever the weather, the staff make it special and we'll definitely be back again.
Great Site
Although this site is just over a one hour drive from home we really enjoyed it. The site is immaculate, the wardens really do deserve a pat on the back for their hard work. There were always wardens clearing up the site or weeding the well kept plant beds, they always had a cheery smile (even in the rain). The toilet blocks could do with updating but they are adequate and very clean. The site was full over the weekend we were there and I did have to queue for the showers on the Sunday morning but the rest of our 7 night break there was no queuing. There is plenty of space on the pitches. We highly recommend this site.
Great Site
Lovely site with friendly wardens. Standards were as usual and up to the standard we expect. As a previous review said I would prefer to see more showers and less wash cubicles as from a personal perspective I don't see the point in wash cubicles but some would no doubt disagree. Pitches are well laid out and fairly level. A regular visitor did say that in bad weather he had seen a torrent of water running to the left of the bottom shower block and would avoid that side at all costs. Local pub "The Forge" was about a 15 minute walk from the entrance was clean, friendly, served good reasonably priced food and a good selection behind the bar. Bus service into Scarborough was good but be mindful that the last bus back is about 6:30 midweek and 4:35 on a Sunday so we had to get a taxi on both visits. Scarborough itself is very nice to walk around, especially the harbour area. You can see by the massive hotels that it was a really popular resort at one time. A visit to Whitby is also worthwhile. We would certainly return to this site again.
Great site
Very clean and tidy site as allows. Toilet blocks were spotless as usual. Pitches are well kept and the TV points were a bonus.
The only small problem we had was not the sites fault but a yappy dog. It would start every time another dog walked by. This is a very popular site for dog owners, so the barking happened a good few times.
But all in all an excellent site that we will visit yet again.
Whole week away.
On arrival we were greeted by a nice tidy site. Wardens were very happy to help and worked hard to keep the site very tidy. Showers and toilets kept very clean. I would have liked more showers than wash cubicles. I think it would get very busy, with only 3 showers in each block, at peak times. Plenty of room on our pitch, nice undulating site with a mix of hard and grass pitches.
Great location. All the coast from Whitby to Bridlington to play with, not to mention York just under an hour away. Was a stretch for us from Suffolk, very worthwhile making the journey for the week we had. Would stay here again.

Happy days away with grandson
Best designed site layout we have come across; great mix of grass and hard standing; all superbly maintained by ultra friendly and clearly ultra conscientious staff; nice feeling of space across the site.
Superb for children - play area contains great mix of equipment - and large grassed area for ball games.
Relatively quiet when we stayed so facilities not put under stress - suspect that some patience needed with toilet/wash facilities at height of season.
All in all a superb find and will definitely be going again.
Another lovely site
On arrival greeted by a very friendly team of wardens, allocated a lovely pitch close to the facilities, as this was requested prior to our arrival due to disabilities.
The site was kept so clean and tidy, toilet block always very clean, in fact the wardens never seemed to stop and to keep the site looking so tranquil
