Newbees on site

First time out we did a two night stint. the site was well laid out and very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and very helpful especially when I said it was my first session and didn't really know what to do. Will definitely go again. There is also a large field specifically for dog walkers.

We had problems getting our hot water to work and when I asked for help from one of my neighbours he stepped over immediately yo see what he could do for us.  Very helpful.

Lovely site

This is a gem. Caravan club sites are typically well maintained but some do have the feel of well manicured carparks. Rookesbury definitely doesn't fall into this trap. Very green and plenty of space particularly on grass which we prefer. Gentle stroll to Wickam with several restaurants and supermarkets. Great location for south coast attractions in Portsmouth and South Downs. Don't think about it..just book!!

Wow, amazing for families

We booked this site for one night using the ferry pitches. What can I say, this park is superb. I have never seen a children's play area / park so large with so much different play equipment for kids of ALL ages to play in and very spaced out! That's not to say it will be noisy, it is in view but at one end of the caravan park itself. Site is very clean, staff are helpful and everyone friendly. My only disappointment was that we booked just the one night!

Excellent

Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. It is a lovely site, nice and clean, friendly staff who answered any question. Well kept pitches. Only downside was poor mobile signal but saying that we would defiantly stay here agin.

Perfect location and site

We visited Rookesbury on the Friday of the late May holiday. The service and friendly staff greeted us with a smile. The site itself is beautiful. It us peaceful, even though every pitch was booked. The shower blocks were immaculate and closed for a brief cleaning of one hour. The chip can called on the Friday too. Easy to get into Portsmouth but I'd say go via the M27. You need to be vigilant and turn right as soon as you see the old church! We missed it! It comes up quickly when you pass through the two mini roundabouts from the M27. Fabulous stay we will be back....

Short and sweet

A really plesent couple of days. Everything was as it should be with the Caravan Club. There was a power failure that lasted about an hour (apparently a large slug was to blame) but apart from that, everything was fine. It's a beautiful well kept site. Access was fine, toilet block, immaculate. An easy twenty minutes into Portsmouth.

Dissapointed

We have been members of the Caravan Club for 29 years and using Rookesbury as a storage site for about the last 7/8 years. We have found most Wardens helpful and understanding. However on our last visit, arriving at approx 11 am to take our caravan out of storage and pitch on site, we were told we had to wait until Midday. As this was midweek and the site only about one third full, we found this most un-helpful, never before have we had this problem. We were disappointed that this was the case, surely people can be flexible at times when it's not busy!

almost perfect but...

We discovered this site last year the very last weekend that it was open, fantastic location, only an hour away from our home so we have been looking forward to this new year. The access is a bit narrow but no "biggie". The site is beautiful and peaceful. I cannot fault the cleanliness and the wardens are superb. Only one issue, in both evenings of our stay there was a power cut in the lower half of the site, which was resolved promptly however, our son is autistic and didn't cope well with these incidents. I was told by a kind fellow caravaner that the site has two different boards and the lower part of the site uses an older board, power was not interrupted in the upper part of the site. It was a busy bank holiday weekend with  a cold evening and everybody using all kind of gadgets (we all do to some extent) but in 2016 I don't expect this situation not to be fixed at some point. It is our hope that this will be resolved by the Club as we really like this site and the wardens are great and were very supportive of our situation.

April in Hampshire

An excellent site. Beautifully laid out,, facilities lovely- even in the unseasonably frosty weather the shower  block was warm and inviting , friendly wardens- thank you.  Location good for all the naval history at Portsmouth,  New Forest etc.  Beaulieu Motor museum. Lovely local villages and interesting small towns.we didn't have time (or weather!) for country walking but the area is obviously very suitable.
