Lovely site
Great Site.
Do follow club instructions on this one for arrival routing. Pitched on the single digit pitches, well drained despite considerable rain and the hill behind. Not as well protected as we thought from the wind, the site is deceiving. Ok so it was gusting 100mph, despite the apparent shelter it still rocked the van. The storm guys were a good idea. Trees blown down on site, one wardens shed flatten and some campers lost awnings. Be prepared and tie it down. Toilets, showers the site in general all good, so too the wardens. TV signal OK with usual built in van booster aerial. Wellies required for the dog walk area, else walk up the hill on the road out/in of the site. The forest walks and playgrounds a short walk away. The Roebuck Inn(PO175AY)great food, seriously fab value kids meals, excellent adults food, dogs welcome, 8minute drive. Southsea busy, but once there park in the D Day Museum car park rather than hunt about. Nothing to the East so walk west, Aquarium OK discount with flyers from campsite, didn't do the D Day museum, amusements OK. Marwell Zoo OK, watch for the donation on paying, bit cheeky before the days experience, train ride another £2 each. Food very expensive. Plenty of inside hide outs for picnics. Lots to see inside as well as out. Car park packed, but wasn't busy inside. Playgrounds disappointing. Site speed still an issue even when towing? No issues will return one day. Finally thanks to the fellow Vanner who help us on Sunday :)
