Lovely peaceful site in beautiful setting

This was our very first caravan holiday in our new caravan and we were extremely happy with our stay at Rookesbury Park.  The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and were very helpful in getting us set up on our pitch. Even though it is a large site, we had no issues with noise - very quiet and peaceful.  The shower/toilets were absolutely immaculate - the showers easy to use and plenty of hot water.  Lovely countryside setting but not too far from the nearest town.

Lovely woodland location

Had a short family break here, great site, lovely big pitches, could hear  woodpeckers by day and owls at night ,good for woodland walks. Shower blocks clean lots of hot water, only grumble shower pressure low. Would recommend and definitely go back

Spot On

This was a perfect site for a weekend getaway! Staff welcoming and very helpful. Facilities all really clean and site well kept. Not far from Portsmouth or New Forest for a day out. All in all a lovely relaxing weekend. : ) Would definitely visit again.

Second Visit

This is a great site, staff are always very friendly and keep it beautifully clean. My only disappointment is the dog walking area. Last year on my visit we had lots of room and this year 2/3 of the dog walking area is given over to camping and parking for the camp site. Firstly the site has limited facilities and with all the addition tent space and no extra facilities. Secondly the club is called the Caravan Club not the caravan and camping club and my third comment is that the site is vacant at the moment so empty space earning no money!!! Please open up the dog walking area again and the site will be perfect.

First time

Just had our first visit here and it definitely won't be our last. Great site, friendly, clean and wardens were excellent.  Plenty to do in the area, a walk to Wickham recommended. Plenty of wildlife to be seen and heard (especially the woodpecker!) Teenaged boys enjoyed Portsmouth, especially the naval Base and the dogs loved the walks around the site.  Win win!!

Easter break

Enjoyed a week here. Staff were help full and approachable. Toilet blocks were spotless. One of the friendliest sites we have stayed on. Plenty of wildlife to be seen and heard. Will definantly be back

1st outing of the year - lovely site

The Club is a business - members should be thankful that it is being managed. The Dog Exercise area is fine - even if reduced in size. The woodpeckers were busy - great to hear the 'laugh' of the Green Woodpecker. Our 3rd visit and we will be back.

Lovely site

Stayed on this Site for 1 night to take the stress out of catching the ferry to following day. Really lovely site, typical of caravan club sites. Clean, well kept, lovely pitches. Facilities excellent. Lovely play area for children. The wardens were really friendly and helpful. Lovely hearing the woodpeckers in the surrounding tress in the morning. You have to stick to arrival and departure times or you would get seriously stuck. Have to say, after reading other reviews, we were surprised by the size of the dog walk, it was huge! No complaints from us at all, would definately return.

Great Site.

Do follow club instructions on this one for arrival routing. Pitched on the single digit pitches, well drained despite considerable rain and the hill behind. Not as well protected as we thought from the wind, the site is deceiving. Ok so it was gusting 100mph, despite the apparent shelter it still rocked the van. The storm guys were a good idea. Trees blown down on site, one wardens shed flatten and some campers lost awnings. Be prepared and tie it down. Toilets, showers the site in general all good, so too the wardens. TV signal OK with usual built in van booster aerial. Wellies required for the dog walk area, else walk up the hill on the road out/in of the site. The forest walks and playgrounds a short walk away. The Roebuck Inn(PO175AY)great food, seriously fab value kids meals, excellent adults food, dogs welcome, 8minute drive. Southsea busy, but once there park in the D Day Museum car park rather than hunt about. Nothing to the East so walk west, Aquarium OK discount with flyers from campsite, didn't do the D Day museum, amusements OK. Marwell Zoo OK, watch for the donation on paying, bit cheeky before the days experience, train ride another £2 each. Food very expensive. Plenty of inside hide outs for picnics. Lots to see inside as well as out. Car park packed, but wasn't busy inside. Playgrounds disappointing. Site speed still an issue even when towing? No issues will return one day. Finally thanks to the fellow Vanner who help us on Sunday :)
