Lovely site

We enjoyed a lovely four day break at this peaceful site. Our welcome was very warm and during our stay the wardens were very helpful and friendly, particularly when we had an issue with our electric tripping out. The facilities were extremely clean and we preferred the use of hooks for the wristband system rather than the one we had experienced previously at another site using the containers with sterilising fluid. Most people did follow the rules but there are always one or two who don't and entered without a wristband when the toilet block was full which was surprising given the current situation. Our pitch was large with a lovely area of grass behind it where we could enjoy the sunshine. The site is ideal if you want to walk or cycle. We used the path from the site to visit Wickham, cycled along the Meon Valley Trail and also used the National Cycle Network to cycle to Gosport. A very relaxing break.

Meon Valley Escape

We had an 8 day break at Rookesbury just as it reopened. It was wonderful to get away and spend time in our caravan and wih our caravan buddies and heir 3-legged dog (socially distanced of course!) It was our first visit to this site and won’t be the last. The wardens were really friendly and worked hard to ensure the facilities and site were clean and met the Covid requirements. We felt safe and well looked after. There are some lovely walks around the site and it is well situated for trips through the Meon Valley with its lovely streams and beautiful countryside and also the coast. Wickham is a delight and with exploring and is within walking distance of the site through the forest (get directions from the Information Point). It is a dog friendly site with a large dog walk easily accessible.

Dry good as always

Our first venture out this year and to our favourite site. Not disappointed! The new team were welcoming in spite of a paperwork error in the system. Site very well prepared and all new safety systems working well although being of a vulnerable age we avoided all facilities except those we could not avoid. Site very well organised as always. Thanks to all the staff.

Updated Reveiw (Ticks)

I left a review yesterday and would like to warn dog walkers be careful if you walk through the woodland behind the toilet block. Two of my dogs had to go to the vets after being covered in Ticks, hopefully all removed and medication to follow, but the vets cost was more than my four days visit to the site, someone on the site mentioned to my daughter about the ticks when we were about to leave. The field would be a more cost effective dog walk!

Post Lockdown

Great site, wardens were very friendly, helpful. No problems at with the restrictions that had been put into place. fantastic dog walks, the best I have experienced on a club site. It is shame we live so far away or would return again very soon.

Brilliant staff

We were one of the last couples to be asked to leave on the 22nd March due to COVID. We arrived early on 4th July when it reopened. Despite the rain the wardens met us with smiles on their faces. ( they were wet) We were not nervous of the COVID because the site is immaculate. The organisation was marvellous. This is our local site and the wardens are always friendly. I wish the site would remain open in the winter! We would highly recommend.

Our first CMC site

We chose the Rookesbury site for our first venture out after picking up our new Motorhome. Little did we know when we booked it would be the opening day of the season due to the Coronavirous pandemic. We had received a call from the head warden a few days previously to explain the arrival procedure as the site was fully booked. We can't thank the staff enough for helping us newbies. A special mention goes to Steve who assisted us and made sure our arrival went smoothly, nothing was too much trouble A great site, with great staff. Definitely somewhere we will return to time and time again

So Helpful

This was our first time towing and setting up our new caravan. All of the staff on the site were extremely friendly and helpful. They immediately made us feel welcome and were on hand to help us setup and to make sure we got off to a great start! The fish and chip van on the first night was very welcome and the food excellent. The weather was awful but we felt warm and cosy. The facilities on site were warm and spotlessly clean. On leaving the warden was happy to come down and make sure I had set everything up correctly in order to tow the van home safely. Overall a great first time experience.
