We enjoyed our stay at Rookesbury Park, the arrival organisation was well considered, the attentive staff made sure we were well looked after. Though in the countryside the site is in easy reach of the main attractions the area offered. Our pitch was rock hard and could have had some refurbishment, the pooling of water was a problem. We enjoyed our stay and recommend the site to other members
One of our favourite sites year after year. The staff were friendly and approachable. The site is clean, quiet and beautifully maintained. It’s location feels out of the way but the local village is 20-30 min walk with all amenities.
There are local towns and places of interest within a short drive.
This site has the best secure dog walk on any site we have visited and you can also access the woods for off lead fun from the site.
There are some take away options that visit the site weekly.
We have just returned from 8 nights at Rookesbury Park. When you are on the site in a valley you could be anywhere in the UK. The site is so clean, tidy and well maintained with a very warm welcome on arrival which is testament to the superb Managers Libby and Paul Freeman. There is almost nothing they would not do to ensure the enjoyment of their visitors. By looking at the positive reviews you realise just how hard they work. This year has been so very difficult with significant extra workloads for all wardens and we as members should recognise their contribution to our enjoyment - wardens are the face of the CAMC. Head office and all the many support staff have also gone that extra mile and a big thank you to them too. Well done Rookesbury and we look forward to returning very soon.
Just returned after a short break. This was our second stay at Rookesbury Park this year. I was quite reluctant to go anywhere when restrictions started to be raised and this was the first site we tried as it is close to family. We both felt very comfortable with all the procedures for covid in place and found all staff to be very helpful and friendly. There was a great choice of cakes from a local bakery for sale in the shop which we had to try and weren't disappointed. It's a great site with lots of local walks and would thoroughly recommend. Thank you.
Just finished our final visit of the season & despite the awful problems caused by COVID 19 that we have all suffered we have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We prefer to caravan fairly close to home & have managed 35 nights over several visits during this short season. Our dog loves the dog field & “pit stops” for urgent visits. Nothing could be improved unless we could get all campers to obey the rules such as clear up after your dog, 5 mph on site etc etc etc. This years warden team have been excellent, extremely helpful & friendly. We changed from a motorhome to a caravan & as we we hadn’t had a caravan for well over 30 years we were very naive, we wouldn’t have managed without the help & information of the wardens especially Paul
Beautiful Location in the Forest of Beer, approx 35 minute walk from site into Wickham through the forest & old Railway line.. Our Goldie loves it & thoroughly enjoyed her dog wash. Facilities & Food top notch and Wardens were always cheerful & helpful - top class!
So we have stayed at this site many many times, the staff have always been excellent and the facilities have always been top notch, great food with decent prices on a Friday from the takeaway , same again Saturday but a little dearer, BUT, the one thing that really bothers me and has always bothered me is people taking their dogs into the children’s play area, it is clearly signposted that you are not to do this, but there are always the idiots that think they are exempt, on this particular weekend someone (presumably a child) had managed to tread in dogs poo and then plaster it all over the children’s climbing apparatus, and the first we knew of this was our child having it all over his hands, clothes, and then his balance bike grips, NOT IMPRESSED, and then low and behold, while waiting for our takeaway food on Saturday night, a group of people walk up, one woman has 2 huge st Bernard’s and some sort of blood hound or sausage dog and precedes to walk through the waiting people, straight through the opening into the children’s play area, where the dogs proceed to start crapping on the grass, UNBELIEVABLE, she picked up the ones that we saw but you only have to miss a bit and it’s trodden in then trodden all over the kids stuff, who knows what happened when she went further into the play area, I was fuming but the wife didn’t want a scene so she just talked to the staff who were also less than impressed, so if you do take your dogs ( we have 3 of our own) DONT TAKE THEM INTO THE CHILDRENS PLAY AREA
What a fantastic site, so peaceful and well kept, layout is great and a very rural feel while being close to many places to visit. We had our two Goldies with us and they loved the dog walking field which is a top class facility (pity some owners don't pick up after their dogs). Great places locally and Wickham is lovely with great walks from the door.
Definitely be back
