Outstanding

Spent a week here in Jul/Aug 21. We cannot fault the site in any area, the facilities were spotless and the entire site well maintained. We loved the pots of fresh herbs available for guests. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely use this site again. Well done Rookesbury Park!

Marvellous site

Stayed here for the second time this year. Impressed with the cheerfulness of the wardens and the efficiency with which they do their jobs. The site is in a lovely setting - essentially a clearing in a forest, but great for Msritime History in the local area and now (fingers crossed) a good stop over for the ferries to France.

Warning - Addiction to cake a real possibility!

Beautifully sited woodland haven which belies the size of the site which has great forest walks on the doorstep, as well as a walk into nearby Wickham, yet close enough to road networks to get out and about and visit coastal attractions both east and west as well as the New Forest. The facilities were excellent, beautifully clean and maintained by the very helpful and friendly staff. Whilst the weather wasn't the greatest when I stayed it was more than made up for by the location. ....and now a Warning!!...... they stock some seriously delicious cakes in their on site shop with such a selection that it really is rude not to try one or two.....or three or four or five!, you have been warned .

A wonderful find

Friends who had stayed here several times before suggested we should stay at Rookesbury Park. Wow, what a lovely site. Although it is quite large it seemed quiet and intimate. The facilities are good and we really liked the layout.

Gem of a Site

Great site,. staff are friendly and welcoming. We were due to stay on this site for a week ,but due to an accident to our mother -in -law we had to make our way home late on our second day. Facilities were first class and very clean The weather was great. Absolutely no complaints and we will be returning. And a big thank you to the club for giving us some refund.

A gem!

Frequent visitors from North Yorkshire Coast, visiting family who live locally. Never thought of owning a caravan but started considering it as a way to have our own space on visits ‘down south’ as it were. Decided to look at local touring sites to see if there is one locally to our daughter before we actually purchased a caravan.....and Rookesbury is it. We viewed it 4/5 years ago on a ‘heaving bank holiday weekend’ thinking it can’t get any busier than that and would experience it under pressure! It was and remains a a lovely site, fairly large but spread out with different areas, everyone has their favourite area to pitch. We’re on our 2nd caravan now (Eriba Triton wasn’t big enough) and look forward to our frequent 2 or 3 week long stays. Previous staff team all moved to other sites at end of 2019 season which concerned me with no continuity but the team in 2020 were courteous and friendly and carried on the great work, and they have stayed on for 21 so all good. Please don’t be put off by scary reviews about access lane, if people observe exit/entry times all should be well and it improves your reversing skills if you do meet another rig which is highly unlikely!

Warm and friendly welcome, and really helpful too.

We stayed at this site for the first week of June 2021. The weather was great. We had an issue with our hook up cable that the lovely staff helped to fix, Screwfix and an Amazon delivery to the site fixed the problem. !! A big thank you,! The road is a bit tricky on the way in, just go at 10mph, but bear in mind you might need to reverse at some points if a caravan is heading in the opposite direction. There’s a lovely walk into the forest, full of birdsong first thing in the morning! The washroom controls that were in place for COVID protection were a bit confusing at first with loops/disinfectant but it was figured out ... eventually. Facilities were good and were kept clean, although the hand drier was out of action in the block nearest to us. We didn’t have children with us but the play area looked good. All the hard standing areas were pretty flat as far as I could tell. Ours was good but the ants were a bit of a pain, not a lot anyone can do about that though. All in all a great site and would definitely stay again.

Great site "but"

This was our first time at Rooksebury and it was one of the best sites we have been on, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, it was real old school with every one having a cheerful word and passing the time. Unfortunately there is a but. The drive into the site is on what my wife described as a death drive, a twisting turning single track drive (no way could you call it a drive) with several double bends on it and very little in the way of advanced viewing of oncoming traffic.there is only about four decent passing places as the other three looked very boggy. It really was deep breath time and crossed fingers that nothing came at you. The driveway really does need some attention to make it easier and safer, mainly because it is so long from the road to the camp site. Other than that, absolutely no complaints and we will be back, I like to live dangerously.
