Lovely friendly site

Stayed here last weekend and thought it was a lovely site.  Kept spotlessly clean by the extremely friendly and helpful wardens.  Lovely views from the site.  Be careful where you pitch at top of site is adjacent to A66 so you would get a lot of road noise.  A lovely village nearby with two pubs.  Will be certainly returning.

good site shame about the warden

Would say this a good site the toilets are very clean as is the whole site. The problem i had was that we where running very late due to been held up by a bad road accident so we phoned the site to inform that we would be getting there very late to be told maybe we should have book a site closer to home then when we did get there the warden came out just about grabbed the voucher and when back to her caravan no telling us where the water was or how to get the electricity on as i said great site but customers service could be a lot better

Well worth a stopover

A very picturesque site good for a stopover or a few days break some road noise but no problem if pitching mid site or lower. Very friendly, welcoming wardens. recommend the Bay Horse Inn @ Ravensworth really good fresh home cooked grub.

Great site

Booked the site last minute for a weekend away, we were very surprised how lovely it was, we parked at the bottom of the site so not to much road noise, had lovely views, the surrounding area was beautiful, the site was clean, and would go back for a weekend again.

Boring

Nothing to do nothing for children, too close to main road noise. Not value for money

Lovely small site

We used this site to stop one night on the way up the Kielder Water as it is so near the A1 and very convenient. That said the site deserved more time to be spent there as the views over the valley is superb and the local towns all worth seeing, Richmond in particular. The Wardens allow you the freedom to park nose in so you get the option of the super view Facilities are very clean but in need of a revamp but don't let that stop you going (oldish but very clean). Whilst the A66 is nearby it didn't affect us at all. We will be back for a longer stay.

Delightful surprise

Despite being only a small site  it has lots of charm and is well placed for all manner of activities. The pitches are a good size but some are on a bit of a slope so take wooden blocks with you. There are lovely views of the surrounding hills. Whilst some traffic noise can be heard from the nearby A66 it didn't prevent us from sleeping soundly. The relief wardens were a joy and had us laughing in no time. We will certainly be returning.
