Peaceful and picturesque

Stayed here for just one night on our way to Scotland it's in a perfect position for the stopover close to scotch corner. In a lovely setting, immaculately looked after with great facilities and a friendly and helpful warden.

Great site

This is a very nice site in a good location. It is beautifully maintained and the shower block is spotless. The wardens gave me such a lovely welcome that I felt comfortable immediately. They were incredibly sympathetic when I had a problem with my van and thought I might need to stay longer. I found them so helpful. I will return to this site as it was a very pleasant stay.

Beautiful little site

Just had a lovely little 3 night break here and can't believe we haven't tried it before. The location has always put us off but we had a pitch at the bottom of the site and didn't give the A66 a second thought. The site is beautifully kept and the views are stunning. Will definitely be back!!

Great little site

Just had a three night stay at this great little site. Just a couple of miles from scotch corner. I was a little anxious on booking reading some of the reviews but was very pleased on arrival. The camp is spotlessly clean, the shower and toilet blocks are spotless and the whole site is very well maintained. The traffic noise was as expected and we had the grass pitches with the A66 directly behind but didn't bother us one bit. It is quieter at night but still a bit of traffic as a main route. if you want less noise pick a spot at the bottom of the camp. Will definitely book on here again. Great site for stop overs.

Beautiful little site

Beautiful site with stunning views. Straight off A66, you can hear traffic noise but that didn't bother us. Wardens are very friendly and helpful. Just a short ride to Richmond town centre where there are plenty of shops. You can also visit Richmond castle or go down the river for a bit peace and quiet. Please note if you are parking in Richmond town centre you need to call into a nearby shop for a free parking permit which allows 2 hours stay. This is not very well signposted and we very nearly got a parking ticket

Excellent access for A1

Although a lot of road noise from the A66 the stunning views from the top field are worth the price of some ear plugs. The first class facilities are carefully managed by the cheery wardens . We will certainly return. We enjoyed our four day stay.

A gem

Had a lovely few days, en route to the Lake District from York. Second time here and impressed with the updated block. With Mainsgill farm shop a few minutes away and a fish and chip restaurant similar distance it's win win. Very well cared for, great wardens.

Excellent!

We have stayed here twice in the last two weeks, the first time en route to Scotland and the second on our return home. This has to be one of the best looked after sites we have stayed in, the grounds have been really well looked after and the toilet and shower block has to be the cleanest we have used. The whole site is a credit to the Wardens who were friendly and helpful without being over the top.
