Lack of space

Lovely site close to the coast but if you're booking a serviced pitch then don't expect a massive amount of space. Some are very restricted - we struggled with our 'normal' caravan but if you're touring with an eight footer you'll have even less space than we had. A great pity as its a nice site with helpful staff and if you forego the serviced pitches you'll get plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the surroundings.

A warm welcome

Lovely welcome from the wardens. A rarity sadly these days on a CC site! Busy site and some of the pitches we felt were a little cramped with not much space to sit in the lovely weather without gawping into your next door neighbors caravan/motorhome. Facilities were spotless. Access to site was very easy. As usual selfish dog walkers with the dreaded long leads allowing their dogs to toilet on other peoples pitches with absolutely no intentions of going to the dog walk. With the usual remark “but we picked up” obviously that makes it ok. Not caring that someone possibly with children are following them onto the pitch. Why don’t owners realize that they are taking all those germs on their shoes into their own van! Piling their poo bags up outside their vans.. disgusting. The best of course is first and last thing… just letting them do whatever outside theirs or their next door neighbors van… then getting bolshy when questioned! One woman had the audacity to glare at someone else doing it to their pitch yet she’d been doing it the whole week. Beggars belief. Cutting through pitches is another favorite. What is wrong with people? CC get a grip

A great site

We stayed here for 4 nights in July 2022. The site is ideally located for visiting areas such as Sidmouth, Beer and Seaton. Lyme Regis is also only a 30 min drive away. The site is very well maintained and is clean, with good spacious pitches,we stayed on a grass pitch which was ideal as we were in the middle of a period of hot,dry weather. The shower and toilet blocks were very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I had a little issue with our caravan on arrival and staff were more than happy to assist. There is a pub a very short walk away through the top end of the site, the food was really good and the pub is well worth a visit. Overall,we loved our stay here,I would definitely use Putts Corner again.

Pleasant Ten Day Stay

Really enjoyed our stay on the lovely Putts Corner end of June. Beautifully kept site and facilities so well kept too. Very pleasant and friendly welcome when we arrived which was a lovely start. The staff were so helpful too. Found several new places to visit as we had stayed before and will hope to go to Putts Corner again soon.

Excellent site

We really enjoyed our 7 night stay at Putts Corner. The site is neat and tidy with good sized pitches. The facilities are very good. The showers are larger than some other Club sites and there are plenty of hooks and a wide shelf in each shower. The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We felt welcomed and wanted on the site. There is a nice pub very close by, The Hare and Hounds, good food at affordable prices. We received a discount card at the site reception when checking in, for a £1.00 off each main meal, no matter how many people were in the party. A friend joined us for two nights and the staff were very helpful and welcoming to her. She also enjoyed the visit. There is plenty to do and see nearby. We spent a day at the Donkey Sanctuary (free to enter) and met the donkey we adopted. Sidmouth is a lovely area with a good beach and small shops. Lots of places to eat. We also visited Beer which has a stony beach with two small cafes, both with seating on the beach. Watch out for gulls stealing food though! People at a table near us had a sausage stolen by a gull, however they were not sitting at a table with an umbrella, easier for the gull to reach the plate. We visited the site of a model railway factory with an amazing 10 and a half inch steam train ride, Very good as it went all round the site. There is a shop for model railway enthusiasts and a fantastic display of working model railways with amazing sets. A café too in a Pullman carriage. Sidbury is a very pretty village to walk around and there is free parking by the village hall. Would certainly return to this site.

Lovely site

We had a six night stay here and cannot fault the site. The toilets and showers were extremely clean, the facilities were easily reached and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The dog walk was excellent and Tilly enjoyed herself having a good sniff around. We were situated very near the dog walk and also the walk through to the pub and the bus stop, but that was our choice and it was very convenient. The Hare and Hounds is well worth a visit ( and we used the voucher for our discount) and the food is good value for money. If you have a small appetite, ask for the small plate. The site is within easy reach of many places and a lot of shops etc. are dog friendly, apart from the Otter Garden Centre in Ottery St Mary which is not, much to our surprise. We always do Treasure Trails when away and we did a Jurassic Coast one (which we spread out over a couple of days) which took us to some interesting little places down some very narrow roads! We would definitely return and would recommend the site. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable.

A fantastic site—-

We visited Putts Corner for the first time last weekend-the welcome was really good and the site itself was fabulous—we were able to get to all the destinations we had planned, easily from the site—The shower blocks, toilets etc were immaculate —the water and waste facilities were brilliant—the site is near the airport path but this did not cause any issues—we would recommend this site to any of our friends-well done Putts Corner

Exceelent campsite

This is the best campsite we have ever stayed on. We had 6 nights and were sorry to leave. The campsite ticked all the boxes for us. The location was central to our needs as we had to attend a 50th anniversary weekend of celebrations in Honiton, 2.5 miles away, so convenient for us. The campsite, toilet block, showers and all the facilities were spotlessly clean, staft were absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful, especially Clive and Stuart. The campsite is ideally situated for touring and visiting East Devon. A 5-10 minute walk up a foot path leads you to a bus stop.and a restaurant. Perfect campsite for a perfect holiday!!! Well done to all.

Disappointed

When I booked this site there were only blue peg (without awning) pitches left - on arrival we were given a plan with 3 (three) to choose from. One was on a grass slope so steep you’d need high chocks. The other two were right on the barrier opposite the toilet block. Basically a car park. A warden came to help us park and guided us back onto the peg - only he got us on a white one!!!! Well we were yelled at that we were wrong but that they’d jiggle things around and we could stay put. On walking around the site it became apparent that there were in fact several white peg pitches and they’d stayed empty for the duration of our stay. Our pitch backed into the road which you could hear by day - I was imagining the image to advertise this site but got left very disappointed.

Shame about dog owners using pitches to exercise dogs

Just spent a week at Putts corner its a lovely site in an ideal location to tour the area we have used this site a number of times and always enjoyed our stay as we did on this occcasion however I was surprised to see a number of dog owners blatantly exercising thier dogs on long extending leads around the grass areas on vacant pitches they were obviously not on the way to the dog walk this seemed to be the norm although they picked up after the dogs did their buisiness I dont think this is acceptable as this wasn't an accident it's openly deliberate, I have seen this on the odd occasion on other sites but nothing like the amount of owners doing it here.
