Amazing staff and site

We used this site as a stopover but chose to stay 2 nights. Wardens were helpful and friendly on arrival, I had requested a pitch near to the toilets due to disabilities, the warden Dianne was more than helpful in my request and then Bernie who is the other warden offered to his help if we needed it. The site is quiet and very well kept. Our stay was very positive, from what I could understand Dianne and Bernie are the only wardens on site due to the others leaving but they did an amazing job and we have rebooked to stay here in July for longer. Thank you to the lovely wardens

Overnight stop over whilst travelling to Cornwall

Site easy to find Greeting from staff a little abrasive… Serviced pitches quite close to each other so not a lot of privacy Great pub very by called hare and hounds. Good food. Site Close to Sidmouth Useful as a stop over, wouldn’t spend very long on site.

The staff make it so special

The site is high up and almost a woodland setting really with a large number of mature trees around and about. There are some open areas nearer to the children’s play area. The washrooms are so well maintained, as is the whole site thanks to the welcoming and friendly staff who are a credit to the club. The staff have a lot of bird boxes and feeders and they are redeveloping the gardens which all adds to the attraction of this site. We have a car and caravan, so are able to go anywhere in the area.

Delightful little site

We stayed for 5 nights in the middle of April and from arrival we had a great time. We arrived just after 1pm and were greeted by a lovely lady who couldn't have been more helpful. We found ourselves a nice pitch with plenty of wildlife for neighbours, a huge fat pheasant and a cheeky squirrel in the tree beside the awning door. The site facilities were exceptionally clean and tidy. The only downside was the lack of wi-fi, although the 4G was adequate for internet browsing. Overall, we had a good stay and are hoping to come back either at the end of this season or early next year.

Lovely site but……

The issues start with the welcome. When we arrived the very first time at 12:45pm a few years back we were promptly told we were too early. Trouble is when you drive several hundred miles it is awfully hard to get the perfect arrival time. So this time we arrived at 1:30pm but still got a frosty reception. Female site warden guarding the reception door told me to get back in my car. I still went into the reception as I’d arranged a blue badge disability spot near the toilet block. Another female warden inside reception told me to go back to my car and was simply not interested in anything I had to say. Not the best welcome to the site. The site itself is a little ‘unkempt’ in places especially on the area by the Motorhome waste point. The men’s toilet block had no hand wash from the moment we arrived on Friday until three days later and only after I mentioned it to the warden. Never saw a warden until this point. Finally, a knock on the caravan door mid afternoon on a Sunday trying to flog raffle tickets was a little uncalled for. More so because you felt obliged to buy them. Will we visit again? Yes, most likely but just have to remember not to arrive earlier than 1pm, stay in car for warden to come to us at arrival, take own soap, and no answer the van door when we are trying to have a snooze.

Fantastic Campsite

We have just returned from a weekend at Putts Corner, we had such a wonderful time. The site wardens were wonderful, cheerful, helpful and nothing too much trouble. The campsite was clean and tidy and the washrooms were immaculate (with heated flooring throughout, perfect). A five minute walk to the Hare and Hounds pub, lovely food, but best to book, does get very busy. Opposite the pub is the bus stop to take you on a 20 minute ride to Sidmouth. Will definitely be returning to this campsite again soon.

Fantastic site

Our first visit to Putts Corner, lovely friendly staff and would definitely visit again. Easy to find followed the directions recommended by site from Honiton. We were very impressed with all the facilities, toilets and showers clean and warm. The grounds were well kept considering the wet weather we have had. We stayed on hardstanding pitch with Electric Hook up, the pitch was a good size. Great location for exploring, had a carvery at The Hare and Hounds which is a 5 minute walk away.

Third Visit - Still Great

This was our third visit to this lovely site. We treated ourselves to a serviced pitch, which was great. All of the site was as good as always - perhaps some of the previous comments don't take into account our unusual weather this year, which must make maintenance difficult. Our comments - perfect thanks! We always enjoy our stay; the 9 bus is very useful, as is the footpath through the woods to the pub and bus stop. Dianne and Bernie gave us all that we needed, in a friendly way. My only complaint is that the hill back from Honiton seems to have got steeper than before, when cycling/walking back from the shops - or is it me?
