Such a lovely welcome by the wardens, so helpful and informative. Pitched by the river and it was delightful. Great dog walk and perfect for our dogs as they loved the paddle and space to run. As others have mentioned there is a rail link very close but this did not detract from our visit. We only stayed two nights to break up the journey but it's a place we would come back to. The facilities are probably ready for a revamp but the usual spotlessly clean facilities. We never used the pub near to the site for eating so cannot comment on the quality but it is very convenient for people who wish to eat out. Would definately use the site again.
Great site stayed 4 nights staff second to none very helpful and friendly. Great dog walk on site down to the river. The local pub just outside the gate was fantastic very good staff and the food was fab very good menu and very well presented its called the old pandy inn walk to it in two mins.
will def be going back soon. All facilities top notch very clean and tidy.
An excellent site with some really friendly staff. The toilet block is tired and needs a refurb but is clean and tidy. The dog walk is good down to the river. Great mobile phone coverage.
The only downside is the occasional freight train that roars by disturbing your peace. The other commuter trains are generally quiet and go by in a flash.
I would return again for the walking in the Black Mountains.
Made to feel welcome on arrival. Best two wardens we have ever met at any site, so friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble.
This site is lovely. It is quiet and peaceful not suitable for children but ideal for dogs and adults .
Good pub just down road from site which do good meals.
Facilities spotlessly clean.
Will definitely return.
Having visited the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Abergavenny last August, we decided to return to the area and stay at Pandy. What a gem! The wardens welcome and how they looked after the site is worth appreciating. They looked after the site as if it was their own. the toilet block was always spotless.
The area and the people was very special . We walked the canal from Abergavenny to Crughowel, a total of 9 miles on an excellent tow path with fabulous views. We visited the market at Abergavenny on a Tuesday. The town is buzzing with people during this busy market day.
Overall we had an excellent week there, made special by the site and wardens.
After a gap of about 15 years this was a welcome return to a beautiful site set in magnificent countryside with many attractions within 30 minutes drive. (recommend the Brecon mountain railway amongst others). The site is well looked after by the latest wardens who were very welcoming. The facilities are good but now need some updating, particular the showers, but are functional nonetheless. The bonus is the local Pandy Inn, no frills but good service and excellent food at reasonable cost - the beer is not bad either!
Very enjoyable stay. Really impressed with the dog walk. Showers & toilet blocks clean & warm
We would recommend the Abergavenny approach (much easier)
Would definitely visit again.
We have stayed on this site many times and always enjoy our stay. Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Only negative now is that the showers are showing their age and need a refurb.
great location, vg washrooms, friendly and helpful wardens, very good traditional pub next door that deserves the trade, great riverside dog walk. We liked the trains too.
