Ticks all the boxes

A well laid out and maintained site. Our second visit and all is good. The usual high standards of cleanliness are still apparent. An easy to pitch level site within easy reach of many attractions. We heartily recommend The Old Pandy Inn which is a 50 yard walk from the site entrance - good food and ale. We will return in the future.

late september stay 2016

Great site. Facilities good, clean & tidy. Central location with lots to do in local area and good base for slightly further afield ie Wye Valley. We found trains (track adjacent to site) not a problem.... actually found it peaceful. Will def' use again.

September road trip stayover

Arrived on site to a friendly welcome from the wardens and good advice on which would be the best pitches for our unit. OK there is some train noise but it seemed to stop during the night so it wasn't an issue. Good walks around the site with plenty of pubs to choose from. Bus stops to both Hereford and Abergavenny are just outside the site and reasonably priced, we visited both places from the site and really enjoyed the time here. Quite happy to recommend this site.

September Holiday

We stayed here for 1 night as part of a 2 week holiday in September before travelling on to Brecon. The site is small but nicely laid out with roomy pitches. Wardens helpful. As others have said the bathrooms were dated but as they functioned perfectly fine and were very clean I am not complaining. Pub very close by with reasonable pub food. There are walks around but as this was only stop over we only went for short stroll with our dogs by the stream. Abergavenny is a pretty town and worth a visit - the carpark is of a decent size with good access for our motorhome but very busy on market days - I believe you can get the bus from nearby. No real facilities for families but we didn't have children with us. Limited wifi. Some noise from the railway but the trains go fast so it is not that disturbing.

Lovely site

A smaller site that is nicely laid out. The facilities are now looking dated compared with some other CC sites, but spotless and plenty of them for the size of the site. The site is nicely sheltered in a good position for visiting Hay, Abergavenny, Monmouth etc. I am sure it's good for walking as its close to Offas Dyke path but we didn't have an OS map and there was no information ( we didn't ask) on walks in the area in the 'information hut' so make sure you bring an OS map. The railway is quite busy but we didn't notice after a while, it certainly didn't affect sleeping. Warden was helpful checking in, advising about soft grassy pitches etc. Overall, a lovely site, quiet position, not sure how children would get on. We didn't manage to visit the pub so can't comment on that or the bus service. We will visit again, as it's a lovely site.

Great Bank Holiday Weekend

We spent the Bank Holiday Weekend at Pandy And found a real Gem This site is really one of the best we have visited Friendly staff perfectly clean although next to a railway line on one side we found overall very quiet a Lovely river runs along the other side and we chose a pitch on that side we could hear the river as it ran over the stones down the river Excellent well worth a visit

Best dog walk

Due to the nearby running train it was not the quietest location but at night it seems that the train was not operated or it doesn't disturb us. We slept very well and the location itself was very comfortable and clean.  The staff during checking in and out was very friendly.  The dog walk was very nice located nearby to a stream running through a small forest.  We enjoyed the pub just around the corner with local beer and typical food.

Best on-site dog walk!

Just returned from the August 2016 Bank Holiday weekend at Pandy. First trip here. Stayed in my motorhome. Easy to find, the pub on the corner is a great marker (don't follow sat nav as I did, ending up down a one way track on the other side of the road! The site is small and perfectly formed. Immaculate as always with utterly charming staff. The warden even came and showed me how to use the ratchets on my awning holder-downer straps. So sweet. So the site, for me the stand out amenity is the dog walk. It is a decent little leg stretch for my tiny dog and, heaven above all heaven, it runs beside the most beautiful little stream/river. Think Swallows and Amazons. On a summer day it is the perfect place to bring a blanket as the children make dams and play in the shallow water. My dogs adored it. The pub was ok, a decent if simple menu and a well-kept place. I think it might have been more welcome in the winter when a hot pie around a table would be just the ticket. A big Waitrose not far away (6 miles?) We drove to Brecon. Not the most inspiring of towns. Stopped at Llangoren lakes (sp?) on the way home. Felt just like being in the new forest with wild horses and plenty of parking places for motorhomes to pull up, throw out the chairs and put the kettle on. Perfect. Only problem is you can't very easily walk around the lake, which seems a shame. Train noise? A bit but nothing to worry about. Really. Anyone living in a normal urban environment hears more on a daily basis than the very few trains that go by. So Pandy, will I return? Absolutely. It is perfect. Just perfect.
