Brilliant

Just got back from a few days staying here, been before. Lovely clean facilities , staff members very polite and friendly. Grass constantly being cut, and kept tidy. If you see tables and chairs on pitches as mentioned by some reviews, it's because they have motor homes and have gone out for the day.

50good/50 bad

We have given this site a 50/50% review. 1.very good service with a smile on reception and very accommodating staff. 2. Very large site and clean 3. Grass cut every day and clean toilets 4. 2 x nice areas for dogs exercise 5.good size child play area. Bad points 1.people leaving chairs ect on hardstanding to save pitches for other people.(We are not Germans by the pool) 2.disabled pitches by the toilet blocks great.but no bin area or chem empty point near.so u have to take it miles away.to empty bins.bit silly for a disabled person 3.1 large and 1 smaller toilet block (dated) for 300 units. 4 grass area unsuitable if raining due to bad drainage.causing caos as they where unusable .so it's free for all in the look for a hard standing.especially when some are being kept by others. 5.no footpath directly from site.just either walk on the road (beware of the high speed of cars).or the grass verges 6. Hardstandings with overgrown by grass.some didnt have enough stones so was down to what looked like concrete and a teram showing and blowing in the wind. Other points.but non essensial Poor mobile fone coverage.tv reasonable with a booster.rec area for playing but no kites due to overhead cables. We did book a disabled pitch prior when booking.but turned up on site and not reserved.so we had to go on a serviced pitch with a caravan for 1 night and wait for a hard standing to come avail next day.not good when u book a awning pitch and then have to move the next day.mostly because of the people saving pitches for others again.wont be returning

A Huge Site!

Stayed for a week mid July. Absolutely jam packed. Have never experienced such a large site before, but surprisingly peaceful. Positives are the variety of things to do in the area; Bolderwood forest is beautiful to drive through, Milton on Sea is a lovely area to park up and walk and admire the Needles across the water, Exebury Gardens are worth a trip too. Negatives are the rather tired looking facilities which struggled to cope with the usage by so many people (queue for a loo?), and the lack of mobile and wi fi signals. We were also surprised at how early new arrivals are permitted - we saw one arrive at 10.30 and another at 11.15. Having sat in a layby for 45 mins on our journey to arrive on time we find it odd that the Club says one thing in its booklet but does the opposite in practice. Site well maintained and a pleasant atmosphere.

A Wonderful Week !

This was our first visit to this site. It is truly massive with almost 300 pitches. That said, the wardens did a splendid job of maintaining high standards in keeping the site clean and organised. I must say, and as a professional Dog Trainer, that I was really disappointed to see that selfish dog owners had not cleaned up after their dogs in the smaller of the dog excercise areas. It really is an own goal to us dog people and gives folk who dislike dogs ample ammunition to moan. And quite right too. There is absolutely no need for it. Worst of all, is that coming out of the enclosure makes you feel embarrassed as the people coming in think it's you ! Come on dog owners, for goodness sake take some responsibility and have some respect for the wardens ! Anyway, with that moan over and despite it, we had a wonderful week. We were initially booked for 5 nights, and the delightful, lovely Nicola performed miracles to squeeze us in for an extra 2 nights, as the site was packed. Many thanks for that, Nicola. The surrounding areas of beauty within the New Forest are wonderful. Baby foals, calves and piglets walking down the pavements and roads are a spectacle in themselves. A wonderful site all round and a credit to the Club. Nicola and her team are also a great asset to the Caravan & Motorhome Club, and on a site as huge as this one, their wokrload and logistics were extremely demanding. Many thanks indeed, we look forward to coming back in the future.

need your own transport

usual caravan club standard, excellent amenities block, polite staff and large off lead dog field. This site is best suited for caravanners and cyclists as there are not a lot of places to walk to, and we walk miles, and not on the local bus route. So other than walking to Holmsly Station tea rooms and the nearest village, Bransgore, thats it. Also noticed on all three mornings that we were there Vans being let on far earlier than the advertised earliest arrival time, the earliest one we saw was just after 9:30.

A return is on the books.

Our first time here having spent the last 8 days in glorious sunshine, and what a pleasent surprise this site is and amongst the Horses and Cattle, which the New Forest is all about. A very clean well kept site with pleasant staff who are always willing to assist your needs. For those that need to know, T V reception is excellent, BUT WiFi is very poor and you need to go up to the reception area to obobtain one, but this is not always quarenteed, other than that, we will be back. Plot 173/4.

Peaceful and friendly.

This site is a lovely place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The facilities are great, especially if your disabled and in a wheelchair. The site is easy to navigate in a wheelchair and the facilities are second to none. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. A fish and chip van visits 3 times a week, serving excellent food, they serve a good variety of food I can highly recommend the cod and the scampi, the chips are from fresh potatoes and not frozen. The site is very well maintained, with everywhere kept neat and tidy at all times. The facilities are second to none! I like the way the shower/toilet blocks are cleaned in the afternoon, so if you have a lay in you can still get a shower at midday. Also when 1 block is closed the other block is open. The disabled facilities are excellent, with ample grab rails and high seat toilet, a seat in the shower and it's lovely and clean. There are 2 dog walks which are highly suitable and very pleasant. Overall I can wholeheartedly recommend this site, it's in a lovely part of the country and it has everything needed to make your holiday great!!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Great Relaxing Site

This is a gem of a location. Very easy to get to. As we were arriving on a Saturday we followed the 'HGV' signs from the M27 through Lyndhurst which was a simple drive. Booking in was simple and quick. The wardens were very friendly, informative and throughout our stay always had a smile and acknowledged us. Although it is a large site it does not feel commercialised as it's split into different areas. The dog exercise area is very large (plus there is a smaller one at the entrance). It's good that they have left some of it growing wild but have mowed paths through it. Turn left out of the entrance and a ten minute walk up Forest Road was some super dog walking. Branksome Beach just west of Bournemouth is super for a day out. The east of the beach is dog friendly and their are lots of cafes and restaurants. It's great that the wardens opt to clean to showers and toilets in the early afternoon so there isn't the morning rush. They are spotless. As we thought mobile phone coverage wasn't that good. We managed to get a 4G signal with Three for some of the time but it did drop to 3G several times of an evening. We couldn't get any signal with EE. The sites WiFi was good. For satellite TV there is plenty of room between the trees and bushes to be able to get a good signal. The site shop is very well stocked. There is a Co-op 2 miles away in Bransgore which is open late. Christchurch is a short drive away with the usual superstores. We were away for several weeks and needed to order a replacement item for the caravan online from Amazon, we were able to get it delivered to the Post Office in Bransgore. Will we return - yes next trip already planned.

June visit - very hot.

We found this very busy site, well looked after, the staff pleasant & the 2 facilities blocks clean. There is a shop selling numerous items. Fish & chip van 3 times a week. A decent sized play area & dog walk on site. A memorial to the New Forest Airfields 5/10 min walk from pitch but nothing else nearby. We did a longer walk up the road & into to the forest around the outside of Forestry Commission campsite calling at their shop [also well stocked] for an ice cream & sat at their picnic benches for a break. Thereโ€™s lots to see around the area either by bike or car.
