Some positives, some negatives.

The site has usual standard of CAMC facilities, which are (as you would expect) clean and well kept by wardens. Good walking and cycling, from site. Onsite shop, and, village (Bransgore) shops, including small Coop Supermarket approximately two miles walk or cycle. Now, the not so good. Site is very big, too big for our taste. General rules (eg 5mph speed limit, supervision of children) do not appear to be policed. Covid rules widely ignored. It is probably a reasonable site, if you avoid school holidays.

Lovely, well kept site

On arrival, although very busy and a queue to the road, we did not have to wait very long. Well organised team on reception. The pitches as always were in great condition. Soon had everything sorted and feet up with a glass of wine. Very quiet in Spitfire area. Easy reach of the Mudeford beach and Milford, a lovely walk to Hurst Castle along beach A very nice post-lockdown break.

In need of some landscaping

Stayed here with my daughter and grandchildren a couple of weeks after they had reopened. Check in worked fine with the new procedures in place and we found a pitch and set up camp. I understand that this was a airfield some time ago and to be honest that’s not a good thing. The site doesn’t have many hedges or mature trees on it so has you are driving around all you see is row after row of white boxes with the occasional Motorhome thrown in. The centenary garden is very small and rather underwhelming. The whole site needs landscaping to make it look more interesting. The site wardens worked hard at keeping everything clean and spotless. The arm band system in place at the toilet block seemed a good idea if everyone kept to it and or read the instruction leaflet you are given at check in. Apparently some people keep a arm band or as I found just wander in because they haven’t read what is going on. Maybe more signage at the entrance to the block and if found to have kept a arm band they may be asked to leave. Most annoying was the WiFi again. My daughter and I payed 11.00 each for it and were lucky if during the day we got more than a couple of hours of WiFi. This site is not in the middle of nowhere so it can’t be hard to get a good signal to it. If you go on a site and pay for a service you expect to get it, but that’s not the case on a few C&M campsites I have been on. It’s a bit cheeky asking people to pay foe something that they can’t then get. The fish and chip van and the pizza van that turns up are worth a visit and there’s lot to see in the area.

well done - covid secure and a great time

Well done caravan and motorhome club for reopening in a covid secure environment. we arrived on 4th the first day of opening and were really impressed by the efficient check in. Everything is so well organised and makes you feel safe and secure. Wardens are doing an excellent job . Half way through our two week holiday and having a great time. We would normally have been in France at this time but The New Forest is a great substitute in these unprecedented times. Thank you.

Lovely break after end of lockdown

We were somewhat apprehensive about taking a break starting on 4th July but we should not have been worried. The contact from site staff the week before our arrival both by phone and text to agree an arrival time and allocate us a pitch and the information on how the site was as Covid secure as possible when we reached the site was first class. Thank you for being so ready for visitors. The site was not completely full but all social distancing measures were observed and the wristband arrangement to ensure that that the toilet block was not too full was a good idea. The site itself was very peaceful and clean. We had a lovely time walking and cycling - there are so many paths in the forest that you are spoilt for choice. We also did the cycle route mentioned on the site's webpage and this was lovely, taking us down to Mudeford Quay and then we did a bit extra around Christchurch harbour before cycling back to the site. Our four day break was just what we needed at the end of lockdown and I am sure we will return one day.

First Lockdown Escape 4th July 2020

Oh what a joy and thank you for taking the plunge and opening your sites. A massive thank you to all the staff at the centenary site who worked their socks off to make the return to 'semi normality' possible. Very well organised and a sense of calm. Everything done with total professionalism and sense of humour. Thank you all so much Lots of love Annie & Sarah Ps - whose idea was it to put all the Benimar motorhomes together 🙂😄 - fantastic we nicknamed ourselves the Spanish quarter!!

First break of 2020

Just got home from our first weekend away of 2020, and what a lovely break it was The camp site was not very busy as you would expect, but still the whole site was clean and tidy and the showers were spotless, especially liked the under floor heating in the showers and also the sunken shower trays The staff, as usual, were really friendly and very helpful; and were obviously working hard to get the site into top condition before it starts to get busy Will definitely be back either later this year or next

Despite the Weather .... fantastic

We stayed here 2 weeks ago, from the moment we arrived we could not have had a better greeting. The warden was friendly, and extremely helpful regarding the pitches as stormy weather was expected, very much appreciated. We had 2 dogs with us and the facilities for the dogs was fantastic to the little area for late night outings before bed, they soon got use to why they were in the area. The main walking part on site was fantastic and our boys loved getting out there ! Pathways kept mown down for walking around while they scampered about with the knowledge they couldn’t get out of the area. Walking in this area is great. Local supermarkets just down the road and lots of public houses and restaurants all dog friendly. The shower block was kept very clean and warm. There was a large children’s playground area and again very secure, although we didn’t have children with us but can see that they are well catered for. We will definitely visit here again ...

Don't be put off by the size of this site

Good size well laid out pitches and site layout with plenty of choice of where to set yourself up in one of the sub-sections all fittingly named after aircraft. We were initially a little concerned at the size (275 pitches) as we normally search out the smaller Club Sites and were hesitant about booking. However, all our fears were allayed as soon as we arrived. The sub-sections all work brilliantly and our choice of pitch gave us exactly what we were after and look for on a site. The site is well maintained with excellent and clean facilities, friendly wardens and assistant wardens and plenty of space on your own pitch and generally around the site to meander or gaze at the stars. Excellently located for the 'Hop on Hop off' bus tours (summer period only). We used public transport or walked everywhere which all worked perfectly for us (cycle tracks nearby if we had wanted to use them). All in all a really super site and we had an excellent week away (chose quieter week after schools had gone back, site was almost full if not full for the duration of our visit and has plenty of facilities for the family if that's what you're after) and will visit again.

Fantastic site all round

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this site - the last one being with grown up children, grandsons and our dogs... what a wonderful time was had by all - from the lovely secure dog run, the childrens playground and the family friendly playing field- our 10 year old grandson couldn’t have been happier with the freedom to play in a safe environment. Lovely walks to be had directly from the site into the New Forest and we were lucky enough to see lots of horses and cattle before we had walked very far! Lovely centenary garden, fish and chip van visiting the site and friendly welcoming wardens - who could want more! Have already booked 2 x return visits in 2020!
