RUBBISH

This new ruling of there only being 1 central point for rubbish is absolute nonsense, it is positioned in the car park just before the reception meaning you've got a bit of a walk. This is fine if you have no mobility problems but if like me you have serious joint problems then it is NO good, I'm told it is to save money?? i do not expect to pay very high pitch prices and not have decent facilities such as bins in convenient places. I will not be renewing my membership this year!

Unnecessary Changes

We visit this site twice per year, an indication that we like it. However the recent change to “centralised waste” is just plain ridiculous. It’s a large site that can very easily accommodate 2 areas for waste bins. A bit of forethought on the clubs part can easily address this. The club need to remember that we are on holiday and should provide the facilities to recognise this. I’m really not bothered about green awards and such like, we deserve what we pay for. Moving on to other issues; Guests need to be aware that their own dogs and their behaviour is their own problem. Whatever happened to get a dog walk to heel like our own dogs used to before they departed. Simply, laziness on the part of the owner. It is NOT ACCEPTABLE for you dog to foul any pitch regardless if it’s picked up or not. Using the excuse of I’ve been to the dog walk and he didn’t go is pure fantasy. Stay there until it does. Letting any dog foul someone else’s pitch is strictly not on, keep our dog to paved/ gravel areas. Children do actuall play on the grass and are at risk even its feaces are “picked up”. It’s never the dogs fault, ITS THE OWNER for lack of training or control. YOUR DOG YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Cyclists. The speed limits apply to you as well. Get off site and do your time trial, on site is not the place. Although this review is my own experience of centenery last two weeks it is the same issue everywhere. Wardens very helpful at all times, but their hands are tied to really do anything about the highlighted issues above. CAMC; how about stepping up to the plate, sutes are going backwards,

Smelly bins due to new policy

I have stayed at this site at least six times every year since starting caravaning 3 years ago it was one of my favourite sites. I was going to book again this week but I am off somewhere else today. All the bins where removed last Monday and you now have to walk across the site to drop rubbish to a central point that really smells, as we hit 27c today the smell will be horrendous. The club’s excuse is that it is making green savings which is rubbish (sorry about the pun). There is no saving as a very large number of people onsite now drive to the rubbish drop off point as like myself they have issues with walking, so the net green saving is actually not a saving but an increase in CO2 emissions I small tractor(which should be electric) verses 100+ cars no savings (apart from money for the club) at all. No thought about the members or their needs.

Poor wifi and pointless waste/recycling position move.

Where as the facilities on this site require some maintenance they are adequate for most people’s needs. The site is well kept with excellent dog walking facilities and travelling out to places gives people plenty of options being it be coastal or more inland towns and villages the take away food vans offer excellent food. Beware at present if you get a pitch at the far ends of the site or you have mobility issues the only waste/recycling area is now positioned at the far end of the late arrival area and is not illuminated at night. While we were there the on site wifi was next to useless.

Dissapointed

I have stayed on this site before and thought it was great. The facilities are not as amazing as some of the other sites, but are still pretty good. The site is in a great location, with access to cycle trails, the forest and coast. The site was busy this time, however staff did not always seem to know what was going on. Some of the check in and extensions admin was difficult. I asked about wifi and if there were any better or worse pitches... I was told no it was the same and the premium service was good. It wasn't great anywhere on the site. Better by the office and had to sit in the car to make some work calls. Some pitches were better than others, though staff were oblivious to this. The other very concerning issue was that there were a number of bike thefts while we were there. Apparently it is a known problem and nights when it rains heavily the site is targeted as people can't hear. I saw just one small poster saying that thieves were opperating in just 1 toilet block. If this is a known issue why is it not flagged up better? THis could be mentioned at check in (especially if rain is forcast) and there should be lots of signs up. I would never expect to have bikes stolen from an awning over night. I have to say the whole thing made me very uncomfortable and unsafe.

Excellent Site for the New Forest and South Coast

This a great site from which to explore the New Forest and South Coast from the Southampton estuary to Bournemouth It is also a short drive to the national motor museum at Beaulieu. We love going to Avon Beach and the Noisy Lobster restaurant. Southbourne Beach is also good fun with the SoBo cafe complex. The Three Tuns does a great pint and good food. The site is excellent for families with a good playpark and the staff are very friendly.

Great Location

This is a lovely site. The pitches are well spaced so it doesn't feel crowded. We liked this site because it is easy to explore both the New Forest and the Hampshire Coast. Because it was raining, we tended to go to seaside towns. The walk from Keyhaven to Lymington is one of our favourites, particularly if you're a birdwatcher. Good pubs in Lymington for refreshment. Shingle beach at Highcliffe is worth a visit - or a sandy beach at Boscombe for a walk into Bournemouth. As ever, the staff are great!

Between the Sea and Forest

Now I never would use a site like this in August ,let alone a Bank Holiday weekend, but as family where in area,we did. Even though the site was full,it coped admirably,so credit to all the staff here.As my title,it is around 8 miles to Avon Beach and Mudeford Car Parks for beach goes, and same distance to Lyndhurst, with all New Forest on its doorstep. Pitches do vary in size,we had a lovely corner plot, but other pitches seemed tightly packed in.Woodland walks are doable, passed the Homsley Campsite. One point to say,if you pitch near the road, you hear the rumble of cars over a cattle grid, and a pop up campsite appeared on the field opposite the site,so it would be possible to hear noise on your pitch.Certainly it would not stop a return,I would just prefer non bank holiday weekends.

A lovely stay

We had booked 4 nights at the New Forest Centenary Club Campsite from the 9th October, and this was the 4th time we have stayed here at various times of the year, and as always it was a pleasure. We'd like to say a big thank you to the wardens who were friendly and very helpful. We needed to print a couple of documents for work while there and they were very accommodating. Then with strong winds on the morning of our departure, we asked if we could stay another night to, rather than tow our caravan home in high winds, and this was no problem - obviously this would have been different in high season, but it was most welcome in this instance. Thank you for a pleasurable 5 night stay.

Good site but poor wifi

We stayed here mid September and found it generally to our liking. The site is very well maintained and the staff are helpful and pleasant. As motorhomers, we hired a car for a few days from Enterprise which was a good idea for visiting New Forest towns etc. Major drawback however was pretty much non existent wifi and no phone signal with EE. The site advertises as having the new club wifi but it's not so. The only wifi is the hotspot at the site office but even there, the signal was so weak it took me 45 minutes to download a newspaper. The Premium Wifi may have been stronger but this involves a daily/weekly/monthly charge which is quite unjustified in today's world ( good quality wifi free of any charge on all Camping and Caravanning Club sites). Nearby Lyndhurst and Christchurch well worth visiting. Also for lovely beach, use carpark at Mudeford beach (suitable for motorhome parking) and esplanade/beach walks with range of eating places.
