Great Location

Visited for a couple of nights - third time we have stayed. It's a great site, very well looked after by this year's (and last year's) Wardens. Spacious and less regimented than many CC sites. As we are a couple we picked a pitch between two 2 berth caravans and pitched our motorhome. Fine on the first night but, on the second night, a family of 5 moved in to next doors awning on their 2 berth caravan. They had a baby who (fair enough) got cold on a wild, windy and rainy night. So it wasn't very restful for everyone else ! Surely 7 people on a pitch in a 2 berth caravan should be against the rules ??? I wonder if they even paid or were members at all, given this (like many CC sites in Scotland) is open to all..

Fantastic Location

What a stunning location for a campsite. On a beach with views across New England Bay. Our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed being able to run up and down the beach - it has to be the best dog walking area that the club has.

Excellent site

First time at this site, but not the last. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Everything was clean, well maintained and orderly. Only downside (for some but not wife & myself) was lack of mobile signal. Just turn off the mobile for the duration. Heaven!

Beautiful but ................

Stunning location, really helpful and friendly wardens. A caravan club site that is a little less regulated, so was more relaxed in many ways. Grounds lovely, helped by the many, many rabbits to be well manicured. Great site for dog walking and families. Walks good, but watch out for the main roads, the car drivers are shall we say on the fast side. But...... What we felt was a let down to an otherwise great site, was the shower blocks. The one we used had only 3 showers in women's and same in men's. I believe the othe block has an extra 2, but on a site that can and does take 160 units, inevitable queues do form. And that's not good when you have to go out to catch a prepaid ferry! Also in the ladies block, the centre shower had big clumps of grey hair in the runaway drain and it remained there for 6 days. Plus the said block had an 'out of order' sign up on a toilet door for 7 days. So in conclusion please Caravan Club get this sorted, don't let the shower blocks spoil this beautiful site.

The Joys of Caravanning

Our first visit to this site - but not our last. It is a little remote being at the southern end of the Rhinns but well worth the journey time through what is some lovely coast/countryside and views. We were lucky enough to have a pitch right at the front of the site overlooking the bay - just a 30 second walk onto the beach. The site covers a large area and as such even when its busy you never lose the feeling of space. It is a lovely peaceful site were you can unwind and take life at a slower pace. The surrounding area offers plenty to do at Port Patrick, Port Logan, The Botanical Gardens and of course the Mull of Galloway. For the size of site I was surprised that although there are two separate toilet blocks the number of showers in each was quite low. Queues did form in the mornings. The facilities themselves were well maintained by wardens you never noticed. They were excellent quietly going about there work with a smile while you relaxed and enjoyed the holiday.

Peaceful Site. Great Beach Location.

Recently returned from our first visit of 7 nights at the New England Bay site. A warm welcome from the Warden on arrival. A large site but easy to find a secluded pitch; not many Hardstandings but the Grass pitches drained well despite some heavy rain. Toilet & showers very clean but one Gents shower 'out of order' for several days leading to queues on a couple of mornings. Excellent Fish & Chips from van that visits site on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Very good Bread/Cakes from Artisan Baker who visits site on Saturday morning. A relaxing first stay at this site to which we will return.

Great Peaceful Location

This was our 1st visit to the area and apart from the weather we loved it! The site is spacious but do watch for people who's cars cannot do 5mph! There is so much to do in the area and if you like the sea then this is the place for you??. The wardens were really knowledgeable and we found plenty of great places to eat. Our favourite places to visit were Port Logan with it's lovely beach, and Portpatrick with it's pretty harbour. We also enjoyed the gardens at Dunskey and the maze is a must for the youngsters. We went to the lighthouse, cafe and RSPB cottage near the tip of the Mull of Galloway on a particularly murky day but it just added to the atmosphere of the area.

Great Site

We have been to New England Bay  since 1989, the wardens (with 1 year exception) have been amazing, they have maintained the site exceptionally well, always cheerful and friendly. The area is just lovely an easy part of Scotland to miss! The site is virtually, but not completely midge free too. Be careful when driving around, a lot of people do NOT stick to 5mph speed limit and "off the leash children" use the road as a race track, but thats down to poor parenting rather than a site fault.just such a great place to relax, its own micro climate......who needs Costa Del Spain ! Best wishes to this years departing wardens....lovely people.

New England Bay

Just returned from our 5th visit to this site, this is one of our favourite sites. Although this is a large site you get the impression that there is plenty of room. Our favourite places to visit are Port Logan with it's lovely beach, and Port Patrick with it's pretty harbour. Castle Kennedy Gardens is well worth a visit. The only negative point is there could be more shower cubicles, there are only three showers, for a site this big there should be more. Having said that it won't stop us from returning to New England Bay next year.

Comment from The Club:

Thanks so much for leaving a review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your time at New England Bay. We just wanted to clear up any confusion and let you know that actually the Site has 9 male and 9 female showers available at the moment. I hope this information helps for future visits and the wardens look forward to greeting you again soon.
