Did not want to come home!

After being delayed for a year , we finally got to Morvich and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Easy access to the site and a very special location, mountains all around and we woke to ice, snow and mysterious fog on the tops, magical 😄 Good dog walks beside the river and fantastic hikes from the site. Wardens were absolutely brilliant, helpful, efficient and so very friendly. Well placed for lots of breathtaking sightseeing , couldn’t fault it. A special place indeed. Not forgetting Gordon , the assistant warden’s lovely dog, Dottie says see you soon 🐕

Another excellent stay at Morvich

First trip after the restrictions on the Covid Restrictions were relaxed and after rescheduling the dates 3 times, finally made it to Morvich. Replacement wardens who were great and very helpful and actively out and about maintaining the high standards normally found here. I mainly used my own facilities as I couldn't be bothered with the queues which sometimes formed due to limiting facilities. Always amazes me that folk spend huge amounts on well equipped vans, yet are determined not to use them, even during a pandemic? Couldn't get the wifi to operate (I have an annual pass) and the TV wasn't working from the bollard, but overall had a good few night.

Very good few days

Stayed for 5 nights as part of tour of Scotland. Easy arrival only mile or so from main road. Stunning location with mountains all around. Very quiet and peaceful. Good location for exploring surrounding area including southern Skye and Applecross. Would happily stay here again.

Lovely site but very remote

As with most CMC sites Morvich is well maintained with good spotless facilities and pleasant staff. The site is very remote with the nearest supermarket and decent shops about 20 mins drive at Kyle just before the new Skye Bridge. The scenery is stunning and there are lovely walks from the site. The small harbour village of Plockton (Hamish Macbeth murder mysteries by M C Beaton are based on this village) on the banks of Loch Carron is worth a visit and the fish & chips from there are delicious.

Just didn't want to leave Morvich

It's the location that makes this site so special. Surrounded by mountains and close to the shores of a loch you forget all the misery that is going on the the world. Wonderful wardens. Delicious bread and eggs. It wasn't always quiet, but that had to do with travelers who had no control over their kids. We booked for 4 nights but were able to book extra nights and left ten days later. The skye is the limit, but Skye is unlimited.

Outdoor heaven with stunning view after view

I was only supposed to be staying here for four nights but ended up staying twelve as it was just the most beautiful delightful spot. There are oodles of walks round about both challenging or gentle ones. If you do go up the mountain next to the site the views are magical and what one would expect to see on a make believe film with endless mountains one way and a view of the lochs the other. There are wild deer up on top too so you may want to take some binoculars. Plockton along the way is excellent for kayaking, as you can launch straight from the beach. It is a natural harbour so it is quite sheltered and there are lots of little islands to explore. You will probably see some seals too, as they hang out there also. The isle of Skye is mesmerising in so many ways. It is no wonder so many authors go home and start scribbling away after visiting. I could have spent another two weeks there and not be bored. There is just so much to do. If you go to Skye be prepared for a lot of driving. It is 50 miles top to toe with few spots for overtaking. There are several castles for rainy days and quite a few art galleries dotted about. I really did not want to leave.

Helpful wardens

Excellent site in a good location for walking. The shop sells lovely local baked bread and the best free range eggs I have ever tasted. The Wardens can't do enough for you. A pole on my Sun canopy broke overnight. I mentioned it next day and within 15 minutes the wardens appeared with step ladders and tools and the pole was removed so I could retract the canopy. First class service and much appreciated.

Absolutely beautiful site

Exactly as described - a lovely, clean campsite in an stunning and idyllic location surrounded by beautiful scenery. The only downside is the midges! But this is not the fault of the campsite at all so not been reflected in the rating. The staff are lovely as well and very helpful.
