Disappointing Stay

The site is in a beautiful location. We only stayed for one night en route to Skye and as it turned out, one night was enough! The wardens were welcoming but the shower block was not! It was a very cold day and the heating was barely on in the shower block. In fact, one radiator wasn't on at all and the other was barely giving out any heat, so showering was not a pleasant experience! Added to that was the fact that several toilets in the ladies block were out of action - not because they were faulty but clearly because the wardens wanted to limit the amount of cleaning so had placed the toilet brush and recepticle on top of the toilet seat thereby making it clear they were not to be used. This was a problem in the morning as the site was pretty full and having to queue for the use of a toilet was insulting given the nightly cost charged. We will not be returning.

What a joy!

Super friendly wardens who keep this lovely site in pristine condition. The site is in the most beautiful of locations which can surely be appreciated, whatever the weather. Lots of walking and cycling to suit all abilities straight from the site. Pitches are of a good size - some do have a tendency to flood so if you are concerned, ask the wardens before pitching. We were there during Storm Kathleen so didn't have the best of weather but it didn't deter us from getting out (sensibly). Overall, a great site and we have absolutely no complaints. One to return to time and again.

great site and wardens

First visit here and very good site and location as others have said, along with very hepful wardens (thank you). If travelling with caravan then suggest trying to avoid the Dingwall route from east coast as the state of the roads is terrible and it is also quite steep in places. Generally in area great care need because of pot holes and we saw two cars with punctures in one day on Skye. The site's internet wasn't working which was frustrating (we were told there was a problem) and the hot spot didn't seem to be very strong. It would have been helpful to point out on website that tv reception is poor (or did we just miss this?) as we hadn't taken our satellite dish and our Avtex TV isn't HD and so doesn't now pick up the main channels (and you need a long tv cable). Look out for the semi tame grouse on the site as well!

Another excellent stay at Morvich

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I was the very first guest of the season at Morvich! I was warmly welcomed by the Site Managers who were great hosts for my entire stay. The site is very well kept, clean, and quiet. The weather was mixed during my stay with gales and torrential rain, but also a couple of fine, sunny days. The area around the site is breathtaking, right on a riverside along the road from a Loch and in the heart of Scotland's big mountain territory. Great opportunities to visit stunning places like Glenelg, Plockton or Skye which is just up the road. A great Licensed Grocery in both Kintail Crafts (open til 2200) and in the petrol station at Inverinate. Supermarket further along the road at Kyle. One of my favourite sites in an outstanding area of Scotland. Just remember is the NW of Scotland, it rains, a lot!

Excellent Site in Stunning Location

Met on arrival by charming extremely helpful wardens and discussing where best to pitch were recommended to head up beyond the tent area. Here we found a big pitch screened from the neighbouring pitch by hedgerow but having a stunning outlook over the mountains. On inspection we found this site to be extremely well maintained and spotlessly clean. The facilities include a very useful drying room (given the inclement weather we suffered) and a family room with table and chairs, TV and a pool table. For our first visit we found the site occupies a great position for access to many scenic and historic destinations and strongly recommend it to others. We will definitely return here.

The best wardens of the CAMC

Traveling through the UK for 8 weeks, so I can easily compare camping sites. We are also members of the significantly cheaper Camping & Caravanning Club. I can be brief: Wardens (+ relief): THE BEST (Thank you again for the help we received when we lost our awning in a sudden whirlwind) Pitches: okay Sanitary facilities: fine Wifi: bad Price: expensive TV reception: good Water points: good Waste location: good Dog walk: good Location: perfect - especially for hikers Biggest negative: midges But that's personal. Despite the recommended spray, I was stung terribly. It saddens me, but that's why we can't go back to this campsite. I appeal to the leadership of the CAMC: renovation of the facilities (planned for next year) is certainly necessary, BUT do not change the appearance of the buildings that fit perfectly into the beautiful landscape - National Trust)

Very disappointed

Our Hardstanding pitch flooded when it rained so everything in the awning got wet and we had to put it all up on a table. The showers were frankly just a dribble, no power at all so took ages to rinse off and by then I was freezing. Given the charges for the site I frankly expected at least a pitch that stayed reasonably dry and a decent shower. The area is beautiful but spoilt by the above. We ended up leaving earlier than planned.

Perfect for exploring

Just had an exceptionally pleasant five day stay here, the wardens were very polite and helpful, everything was clean, well kept and in order, and the site is well away from main roads so there is no traffic noise at night. It's perfectly placed for exploring the stunning surrounding area, we have had three big days out around Arisaig and Glenfinnan, Skye, and Torridon and Applecross. Will definitely be returning to here in the future. Thank you Morvich!

Spectacular views - Fabulous Wardens

First trip touring Scotland. Hitting the Highlands took us to Morvich Club Site. Judith was lovely and Simon so helpful when we had a minor roof vent leak on the motorhome - offering us any tools required. Judith saved the day too as I had brought my CAMC site book (great for hop, skip and jump touring), but had forgotten my CAMC map of the UK showing location of all sites, CL’s etc (not so great when touring on the hop). Judith produced one for me and saved the day (with no charge 💙). The site is so well kept and clean. The little touches of Sunflowers growing outside reception and pot plants in the ladies shower block all make for giving a lovely welcome to members. Thank you J & S - we will definitely visit again.
