Good for families

A Very Warm Welcome

We came for a one night family visit, Sunday 17th. The warden had phoned us on Saturday to say the site was very wet and there were no hardstandings for our motorhome.  They would not be able to help if we got stuck.  It would be OK if we decided to cancel.  We chose to risk it. On arrival at quarter to six, the office was still open so we were able to book in.  While we were doing this one of the wardens disappeared to find us a good dry pitch.  He came back with a couple of mats for the driving wheels. He took us to the pitch, helped us to get lined up and placed the mats so we could keep our front wheels on them. We had arrived a little late but the wardens could not have been more helpful and friendly. The site itself feels small and personal.  The facilities are spotless.  There is some traffic  noise, especially at rush hours but we did not find it intrusive, more of a lullaby. It is a two mile walk or bus ride along the old Roman road into Winchester. All in all Morn Hill is a super site with great wardens and does not cost a lot, less than £15 per night.
